A typical Gal vs Otaku high school rom-com, the manga is being published just behind the light novel series. English translations are still pending, and I will probably buy the original light novel when an English version is available. For now, I am enjoying the manga via a well known scanlation site.

It's cute. It seems very innocent. It is not really original except for the details. Here our otaku boy is an introvert, no friends IRL, and an avid gamer. What is different is that he enjoys working out and has a hot bod. The first chapter has well contrived events that result in ... our hero winding up shirtless in the infirmary, and our gal is shocked by his sexy physique.

Although it is supposed to be a joke or prank confession, from the very beginning the sparks of love are flying everywhere. It is only a matter of a few chapters before the fireworks explode!

What we have here is a casual and lighthearted school romance manga without any outstanding positive or negative points. The plot elements are quite generic, sticking to the usual tropes and making the story rather predictable. The only thing that was surprising was how it only took around 2 days after the two main characters first met for them to be completely enamored with each other. Granted, our MC has just recently been clobbered over the head with an iron bucket that was thrown out of the window by what I can only assume to be a nefarious assassin roaming the halls of the school. ... As such, the MC might have suffered lasting brain damage and an according loss of inhibition.

The art, much like the plot, is nothing to write home about. It is not particularly good or bad, although the characters do look a little stiff at times.

All in all, I think this is a quite inoffensive manga that has a chance of getting boring rather quickly due to how generic it is. Therefore, I rate it a middle-of-the-road 5/10.

There’s not much to say about this manga except for the fact that it’s nothing innovative, as it follows the same plot line from a typical “loser boy dates the popular girl” trope. The only notable difference is the mc and fmc having the impression the opposite party doesn’t know about the confession dare, so they theorize/have wholesome moments revolving around that issue.

As noted before, the characters are nothing out of the ordinary and profound, though, the author does attempt to add a deep, lore-filled backstory, but it seems rather unnecessary and useless. As for the plot or developments, there are your typical ... bad guys and sequence of romantic advancements that all romcoms share.

Despite the lack of originality, the concept causes the manga to be jam packed with wholesome, cute, and cringe moments that makes the manga enjoyable.
