Well, well, well… if it isn’t my old friend: the “gal x otaku” trope. Sometimes I wonder to myself why I read so much of these same carbon copy premises, but I can’t lie, the trope is genuinely enjoyable if it’s done mediocrely well, and this did just that.
I don’t want to talk about the plot, since if you’ve even read a similar premise to this story, then that is all you need to know about how everything plays out — slow romance, otaku cringe moments, gal waifu … etc. Putting that aside, the manga does do the plot decently well by being well
...
paced and being interesting due to the multiple specialties of the mc.
As for the mc himself, he’s very dramatized as an otaku — appearance and personality wise. Though it might be cringe at first, he does undergo very gradual and small bits of change with the fmc, and it’s pretty refreshing to see, since it doesn’t occur after 20 chapters of useless drama.
As for the side characters.. they’re kinda meh. Side characters for the sake of drama, progression, etc. None of them are remarkable or impressionable, but that’s almost to be expected out of this trope at this point — you aren’t reading this story for gal x otaku + a side cast, but rather, the dynamic of the fmc and mc, which has been done well.
Yeah, that’s about it. Gal x Otaku trope but somewhat more interesting and diverse.
You guys know this is just my opinion, right?
