I don't understand the absurd amount of backlash or critiques this manga has; after reading it, I would've thought it was well-loved considering how strong the initial chapter was and the maintenance of said greatness. However, where there is praise, there are also people who find wrong in the well-executed; one claim that is somewhat valid is the boring attributes and aimless plot the manga has at times; however, that is not enough to discredit all the author's efforts to build a compelling story with good developments and characters.

Discrediting other's opinions is no less than childish, however, saying rape was meant for the sole purpose ... of fan service is as if the reviewer never paid attention to the manga's world building or how the artist depicts said scenes. To counterclaim said ridiculous point, the artist has never once created a full-on fan service, ass-riddled scenes; whenever there were illustrations of rape, the females were in no way, shape, or form depicted in an erotic manner, as it is shunned according to the world-building and common human sense.

Another baseless critique was the "boring characters" which is absolute nonsense. The main character may not make the greatest expressions or have the most wild/entertaining personality, but, he is in no way boring. He undergoes trials, rejection, and development; he may not have the most stern or noble goal, but it was made clear by the world building that it is essential to him. For other characters, they undergo the same developments and add some humor to the otherwise "boring" plot.

This manga may not have the most unique or heroic plot line and twists, creating some boring moments to arise, but the world building and slow developments overshadow such a measly feature. If you get sensitive over the slightest mention of rape, even if it is used to build the world and characters, then that is where the hate stems from; however, put that aside for a moment, and you'd realize this manga is written extraordinary well with some humor while avoiding the clichés.

PS: I didn't want to make a review on this manga after finishing it, but I saw the ridiculous false statements, so I had to write one.

A greatly drawn manga with unusual plot and charming characters. The bad thing is there's too little of it yet. The controversial things are: There's blood and fights with as of yet not named oppponents dying in bloody fashion, no tag of gore. There's what I would call a modest level of fanservice in general but for 3 panels- "Oh No! Too much skin for sensitive people!"- said some people so I feel offended by them and not the small panels. The same medieval setting and theme of greenskin rape like in Goblin Slayer but here it seems the prospect is lighthearted at last up ... to chapter 8.1. So despite the summary the focus is as of yet on the growth and maturing of orc warrior and fantasy circumstances and not obscene depictions. He meets women and girls, truly shocking for some.

The summary could say the main character Bash goes on a mission to find a wife, but... It actually says "to get rid of his virginity". A shot to the foot with a summary like that imo.

Chap 8.1 is a strange way of counting to 16... Because chapters are 1.1, 1.2, 2.1 etc. The story seems to be thought out with a brain and not with a gruel- By that I mean the author is building up the setting and is not failing at it miserably like most titles are. The story can go dark or slice of life but as of right now it just takes best of both worlds. It could be somewhat of a spiritual successor to Berserk or just start running out of ideas... Or just go like mainstream gruel, spewing bullshit... Would be nice to have a real dark story but there's only just potential for intrigue.

As much as I would love to write a troll review giving this 10/10, it's so awful I can't bring myself to do give it anything higher than a score below five.

Why does every series about an orc need to include a rape scene on every second page? There’s no meaning behind it, it’s weird fanservice that is neither enjoyable nor funny. It doesn’t make the series mature. It’s about an orc trying to find a woman that he can impregnate, this is some middle schooler type shit.

Characters are boring, the plot is stupid in a bad way, and at the moment it doesn't feel ... like it's going anywhere. If you're a fan of Mushoku Tensei make sure you go don't go into this with any high expectations.
