Started reading this today after reading Love is War, another one of his works. To start off, I honestly got mislead by the cover art and thought is was just going down the Shounen/Shoujo path; boy was I wrong... This story definitely has what I look for in most Manga.

1) Catches my attention
2) Leaves me on the edge of my seat
3) Has some sort emotional rollercoaster/a sense of realism
Lastly,
4) A clear story with a goal in mind (this isn't a must, but it definitely helps with most things I read)

Long story short; I definitely recommend reading this, it wont disappoint.

One of the few sleeves that as you go you are attracted to more and more.
The beginning of the story cannot be one of the best, at the beginning of the second chapter, it simply hooks you up and you want to keep reading more as you read the story.
The characters are unique, including with art remains a simply amazing result.
The protagonist is the typical character who has a single objective and to reach that goal he will have to do many things, which can corrupt him.
Another side of the world behind idols and actors, problems they become, in their lives to become a success ... over others.
It's just unbelievable to me.

Oshi No Ko is a story that shows us in depth and in a realistic way the world of entertainment in all its forms (television, theater, music, etc.) from the most positive to the darkest and also the influence of social networks.
One of the strongest points of Oshi No Ko is that the characters are very interesting and each one has a well constructed personality.

The art is wonderful and very consistent, vital to elevate the story to a higher level.

In conclusion: Oshi No Ko is a very original story, where the strong points are the drama and the characters. The only negative point is that ... the ending feels a bit rushed. But I think overall it is an excellent and very enjoyable story.

A story that manages to combine quite a few things together to create something very interesting. The story tackles the entertainment industry and a lot of its different parts from clean to unbelievably dirty. It also manages to highlight the serious flaws in idol culture while not dissing the actual hardworking people just trying to reach their dreams or saying that idols as a whole shouldn’t exist or are dumb. And all of that is just in what amounts to the prologue. The story has an interesting start and while they both have their flaws as well both twins manage to be lovable and endearing ... characters. The motivations of the two being so very different despite being so much alike and both moving into the entertainment industry is also a nice dynamic. And the mystery of their father and if he was actually involved in the murder is something keeping me invested. The story hasn’t even really reached its stride yet, and even so I have reasonably high hopes for this series and can’t wait to see what happenes.

Just as the manga itself predicted, people are heavily influecned by the modern rise of the internet, where every opinion matters. So I will do you guys some good by providing my unfiltered opinion on this manga. With that being said, spoilers will definitely apply.

Oshi no Ko is one of the best mangas I've ever read, even though I don't read much manga, this one instantly shot up into my "keep reading" ... list and made its way into my favorites. It explores so much about the performing arts industries to a depth that only someone in that very business can provide. This makes a lot of sense, considering the man behind this manga was none other than Kaguya-sama's Aka Akasaka-sensei himself. Having seen his mangas blossom into well-received animes, this man poured all he knew about the industry into one fantastic manga that burdens our souls with the same weight these very characters go through while also retaining aspects of comedy, romance, and drama that a normal manga of this genre would achieve.

Plot
This piece is definitely where it hits my soft spot. The Isekai genre has been overdone to no avail and now every anime season a new dull one pops up to give us shits and giggles. The premise of Oshi is original in their own right. Aquamarine and Ruby are reincarnations of a hospital doctor and a passed patient respectively, both respect their figurative and literal idol Ai, and as a result when Ruby passes from her illness and Aqua gets stabbed from a stalking fan, they reincarnate as Ai's new twin children. Originality points there

Other than that, the kids decide to follow in their mother's footsteps, with Ruby retracing the path to Idol Greatness while a slightly less enthusiastic Aqua becomes a talented actor. From there, the progression goes on. Aqua's talents land him gigs of increasing magnitude while retaining the same friends. His mysteriousness, along with his stunning good genes, land him a variety of different showbiz genres, anything from stageplay dramas to reality TV dating shows. Meanwhile Ruby, reaping from the benefits of Aqua's new connections, successfully establishes her idol group and makes a stunning splash at the annual Idol Festival (which is actually a real thing). While it is far too early to call what the authors will do with established storyline, it is brilliant to see this progression happen. Many moments in the manga turn us on our heads with how unexpected they are, or just how straight up funny they are. This is one of the great things about this manga, and its plot director Aka Akasaka. One minute you're experiencing much of the PTSD Aqua went through, and another you're laughing your guts out because of the stupid shenanigans this group of chumps are doing. It's honestly refreshing to see a manga or an anime that can aptly mix these two emotional extremes, but this anime does it perfectly.

Art
This carries on within the art section too. The artists drawing this manga made very clever use of symbolism. The most prominent of which is the Hoshino Family's signature starry eyes. When Aqua gets dead serious, his star turns pitch black and his irises are no longer reflective, when Ruby adapts into her onstage persona, her stars get larger and widen to resemble Ai's own eyes. For Aqua, his darkening is motivated by his desire to find the person who killed him, and for Ruby, her lightening is motivated by her passion coming forth. The Twins aren't the only one who have this tho. Partway through the Reality TV arc, Akane Kurokawa adopts Ai's personality for one scene after her return, slipping into the idol's persona and emulating her very emotions to such a pinpoint accuracy that she actually correctly guessed the fact that Ai secretly had children. In that scene, her pupils turned into the signature Hoshino stars and her hair was redrawn to emulate Ai's. This uncanny use of symbolism gave me mad respects and it gives the reader so much visual clue that they can immediately understand just what kind of a person these Hoshino siblings are.

Apart from that, despite not drawing the art, Akasaka's Kaguya definitely influenced the other panels. One thing I kept noticing as I was reading was how real these characters looked, the light reflecting off their eyes and hair and the atmosphere of the sets on stage. It felt stunning for still black-and-white images to feel so 3D. Even in their comedic cartoony moments, it is more than just a simple doodle, as the characters look genuinely funny. One more thing to point out is the text bubbles. If you have read the Webtoon Unordinary you'll definitely be familiar with the style. Depending on how serious the characters are, their text bubbles shift from light to dark. The best example of this is when Akane was researching Ai's personality to slip into. You can see how she's getting serious by the gradual darkening of her text bubbles. An excellent touch.

Characters
One of the most important things in showbiz is the people portraying the characters. The many characters introduced in Oshi no Ko definitely emulate that idea. Not only are multiple perspectives these character possess evaluated, but everything the characters do is also important as it helps with their standings in their peers. On top of that, the frequent burdens of the showbiz industry frequently show their scars on them. Each of them displays a different trauma associated with a different part of showbusiness. I'll give a quick run-through so you guys know what I mean.

Aquamarine Hoshino
Since the events of his past, the once chipper young lad became a solemn husk of a being racked by PTSD and a desire for vengeance. He is shown to be exceptionally adaptive and perceptive, and that frequently proves to be his ally. In him we see the burden of emotion and reluctance. His immense talent has landed him some killer gigs, yet his personality remains solemn as ever. He's hardworking, yet antisocial. And he has frequently reminded others that he doesn't even want to act at all. Despite this, he takes on the jobs because he wants to enact vengeance. His pure willpower is what's driving him, because what's left of his passion is all gone. He's the embodiment of people trapped in jobs purely for the rewards. And in the case of showbusiness, talent like him won't go to waste.

Ruby Hoshino
Ruby remains a bit of a pure bubble especially in terms of the negatives of showbiz, but she is constantly hammered by one thing: no headstarts. Ruby's aspirations are constantly being denied because people either don't want to accept her into the idol business or she just doesn't have enough of a fanbase to start. Her personality remains the steadfast dreamer as always, but enough nightmares can crush a dream.

Kana Arima
Kana is a child actor known for her ability to cry on command, but that's it. Ever since then, she's embodied the one thing people playing BitLife hate the most: being forgotten. Her spotlight has faded and no one remembers her name. Her talent is impeccable and her skills are numerous, but since her gigs never blew up, no one remembers her. She went through a showbiz person's worst nightmare, and despite climbing back, it has continued to influence how she acts, poisoning her confidence and her self-esteem.

Akane Kurokawa
My personal favorite of the bunch and the victim of the harshest reality of all, Akane Kurokawa is beyond talented, with skills rivaling Kana and a legendary agency behind her. Yet, during the Reality TV arc, she faced an uncontrollable force: The Internet. Nervousness coupled with confusion and lack of action made her forgotten in the TV show, following that, an unintentional outburst and deliberate framing by the studio framed her to be a villain. This drove the internet mad with rage, and if you've played Genshin recently you'll definitely know what's coming up: fans started bombarding her accounts with insults, death threats, toxicity, and everything a fragile 17-year old rising star would NOT want to face every day. Akane was driven to seclusion, her confidence plummeting, and had Aqua not intervened she would no longer be alive. Her plummet during the season exposes the internet's worst consequences, and the unfortunate thing is that it keeps on happening. Many people every day suffer from cyberbullying, even just a bit of it on a high school level was enough to drive high school teens to suicide. Now imagining it happening to a big-shot star, who's also a high schooler so she, therefore, has the tolerance of one. The mangaka did a painstaking job recreating every single thought that went on through her brain as the comments flooded in right up to the moment she was about to jump ship, showing us how this negativity drives a brain. It pains me as I write this to know that this is happening right now. Even through all this, Akane perseveres, bouncing back and giving us all a hell of a show for all the later arcs. Her personality is tough, and her spirit tougher.

Takeaways
Overall, Oshi is a heavy story

Not only is the world it describes one we take for granted, but it also rips each and every industry wide open to reveal how demanding it is. Everyone may aspire to be on the big stage, but it always costs more to win than to lose. Oshi no Ko shows brilliant exploration of such heavy themes and connotations, and it shows us that in the world of showbiz, the greatest lies you can tell are what gets you the furthest. In all else, Oshi teaches us a few important things:

If you want to do something, consider everything about it. Its benefits, its enjoyments, and most importantly, how much it will demand of you. It takes three positives to outweigh a negative, so your passion must burn even brighter to light your way.

Historians will spend centuries trying to figure out why Aka Akasaka was responsible for creating the most rushed ever character development and ending in the entire anime & manga industry.

Amazing characters, beautiful character artwork design, great attention to detail, I enjoyed the characters engaging with each other and trying to solve their personal issues and how Aqua gave his all to care for each individual character and the show really showed how much the characters really appreciated his care for them.

Overall, series is good, giving it a score lower then 10 would just ... feel wrong considering how much potential this series has.

Perhaps the up-coming sequels will close some of the gaps that the author missed.

10/10 would read again, but not the ending.

Stay away from the ending.

I have started some reviews indirectly critiquing people's reviews/commentary on some series recently. My own thought process is as follows: I finish a series, form my own thoughts, draft an early idea, go to see the reception of the series or the major recent chapter, write my review. Before I dive into my thoughts, I think audience reception is important to the work we are discussing: be it massive disappointment, justified or not, amazing praise, again, justified or not, deep dive or shallow wading in the work; how people receive the work is important to me from a holistic perspective.

That being said, yet again, ... a huge title ends, and I seriously don't understand how people are calling the ending to this work a disappointment, nor can I sit here idly and accept that this is at all times a masterpiece of manga. There were flaws, nothing egregiously detrimental to transform this into slop, and there were high points, that equally deserve their praise and I'm sure other narratives did it better. Now, enough meta-preamble and just give some minor thoughts. This preamble is more for future me to understand that on release, the last few chapters of this series that no doubt will stand as top manga/anime for many was quite divided online.

I jumped into this ride fully hooked on the mysterious introductory chapters that seemingly take place in the future of the main pages of said chapter, there's a seedy underbelly of entertainment mystery and there's a clever setup to the story where we see future glimpses while reading the prologue. Except you don't know much. That was really fun, and what drew many people in. Death of a main character happens, reincarnation, time flows, new protagonists take the field, an overarching mystery of who killed that main character, and a fun narrative where you reincarnate with all your previous intelligence and huge amount of connections, star power, and luck form around two siblings. Childhood turns into adolescence, revival of idol groups, movie dreams, live theater, youtube, entertainment industries are captured really well at the outset. Probably around 2/3rds through, one of the bigger weird moments of incesty vibes occur, and I will say that the overall quality of the manga went down a little around this time, i wasn't rushing to open the app and read new developments, I sort of took a break as it seemed there needed to be a hiatus on behalf of the creators and as readers, the hype that held us went away and we wanted more answers. The artist and author come back, we get a huge culmination of many loose ends, and we get a controversial ending (but I'm left with the question why was it controversial?) and the series ends on a tragic bittersweetness with glimmers of hope. That shouldn't be a spoiler, you know how dark things began, I would say that the ending landed largely in the same way.

The art was great, and there were panels of excellently executed mesmerizing gazes and vistas, of course very dramatic since this is a story revolving around actors and their major stages or minor stages, be it at a concert or masking daily pains and tragedies of their pasts. I think the character designs were nice, attractive actor vibes, the idol sets and costumes, even the theater moments, really allow the artists to shine and make dashing outfits and wonderful backgrounds for our little acting troupe The characters were fun, albeit annoying sometimes on account of them being literal children much of the narrative, but you know what! They mature and they grow and they develop realistically through mental illness, trauma, career challenges, everything, so it's really great to see how they grow. I mean this narrative takes place over a couple of decades, and even the adults in the story have their ebbs and flows: particularly special was seeing how the couple that adopts the main protagonists at the beginning go through a separation and then years later meet again and without spoiling much, they're just very realistic and adult about what happened.

The story is a meandering mess (nonderogatory, it's messy, let's be real) of tragedy, comedy, and will they won't they-isms everywhere. There was a general sense of "I'm so smart no one will figure out my plan" and then a character would be like "I know your plan, don't think I'm as stupid as others, let me in on it" and the characters would put themselves in dangerous positions and go through unhealthy moments and grow out of it. There was care between these characters, even buried under the tsundere glares of some, there was genuine care and I appreciate that about the characters advancing forward to succeed in this little twisted fictional setting.

There are touches of supernatural that I felt would be expanded more, if anything that is a criticism I have, perhaps it's that I found a character that represents chaos showing up shrouded in crows to be fascinating but besides one arc, much did not happen with that aspect. And that goes for the end too. You see, I can sympathize with the criticism that the ending was rushed. The ending 4ish chapters after the main climactic action that rocked the world, were done with a narration over action, so dialogue was not front-loaded, rather the viewpoint of a singular character. I get why that would not mesh with people on account of an ending to a series that was so dialogue heavy, built around actors with strong emotions, and gushing with personality, it's a little strange to not have final moments of the same way. But that cannot blind people out of understanding that the ending was good. It's not a happy ending where everyone gets away free of consequence, choices matter and actions of the main characters matters in the end, to protect who they love and to advance the goals of those in their lives. People's complaints assume because of the time passing in those last few chapters, that the characters get over what occurred and I'm shocked by this lack of comprehension. The characters are not "over" what happened, nor are they uncaring for the friends they lost on the way.

I think the ending solidly showed how grief manifests in people differently and with a nuance that doesn't show melodrama and constant suffering nor does it show happy-go-luck lalaland.

TL;DR: I would definitely recommend this series to anyone willing to go through a story with its major flaws coming in late in the series. The opening gambit of unique storytelling and the arcs based around the characters evolving their acting and connections, it's a drama after all, and it was a little wishy-washy with its potential love triangles and the waifu wars but with a little bit of introspection, I'm sure we can all agree that the journey for this story was fantastic, and the ending is shocking but enjoyable. It is not a waste of time at all, or mid, or a waste of potential as I'm seeing doomposters say. On some days I want to give it an 8, on other days I want to give it an 8.5, this is a great story and does not overstay its wonderful welcome.

OSHI no KO manga offers a compelling narrative with rich character arcs and powerful themes, making it a highly engaging read. For those interested in a psychological, character-driven exploration of fame and the cost of achieving it, this series is a must-read.

OSHI no KO is a must-read. Its just totally a mind blowing manga.. The writing is peak level.. i'll highly recommend it.....

Oshi no Ko is one of the greatest mangas I've ever had the pleasure of reading, due to a number of different factors. One of the major ones being the characters. Oshi no Ko has some of the most realistic characters I have seen in a manga. Each character feels like an actual person that has their own motives, experiences and hardships. It actually feels like I know the characters, which is something I don't often experience when reading other things. Another great thing about Oshi no Ko is the ... art. It has a very pleasant looking art style, and each character has a distinct, memorable design. It makes the whole course of reading it all the more enjoyable. Lastly is the story. Oshi no Ko has one of the most interesting and unique stories, showing the entertainment industry in a light you wouldn't normally see. It can be fun and cheerful but also dark when it wants to be. Overall, Oshi no Ko is just a fantastic read that I would recommend to everyone!

Oshi no Ko is very cliché in the first chapters but when you let it air out a little that's when it opens up and takes you in just like a nice scotch's smell. Oshi no Ko story is interesting and nicely paced with a lot of events. Character development is outstanding that leaves you with a melancholic feeling after reading. Oshi no Ko art is overall a nine out of ten, outstanding panel art. I've read thousands of manga and I hate most of them but this one I like so I would give it a 9/10 and would highly recommend!

With the upcoming anime adaptation it’s imperative to let people know how goddamn good this manga is. Now I don’t like idol anime. The only idol show that was pretty decent was Zombieland Saga. Oshi no Ko, however, has become one of my most favorite manga recently despite having idol aspects. Let me tell you why.

The most appealing part of the manga when reading is actually the story developments. The main character’s favorite idol is pregnant and he has to ensure a safe delivery for her. Suddenly, he dies and gets reincarnated as her child… ok… weird. Despite the wacky introduction to the story, it ... serves as a gateway into show business from a perspective of an average person. From birth, both Aqua and Ruby (born as twins) have to navigate the entertainment industry. Seeming like a dream at first, they come to realize that show business is much darker than they would imagine.

[Minor Spoilers in this next paragraph]

The reason this manga sets itself apart from so many others of the same type is the way the author handles presenting the darker undertones of showbiz. The manga takes a look at a variety of entertainment such as acting from Aqua’s perspective, idoling(?) from Ruby’s, and more such as social media usage, youtube, and streaming. While each industry appears calm on the surface, a closer look reveals aspects that want to go unseen. Relentless bullying from people on social media that could lead to suicide, someone not fitting into the socially accepted age group and having to give up on their dreams, being unable to escape preconceived ideas because of their past, jealousy, revenge, murder. Oshi no Ko brings a lot to the table, certainly setting itself apart from “just another idol show”.

That isn’t to say the entire manga is a depressing look at the dark side of the entertainment industry because outside of those moments it is quite enjoyable as a simple ‘making it big’ story or achieving one’s dreams. Quite a bit of the story focuses on Ruby’s journey as an idol and Aqua’s as an actor. Cute light-hearted moments from the private lives of celebrities balance the dark aspects of showbiz. A touch of school and romance leaves the story at the nice place, giving something for everyone without making it too convoluted. The art only adds to this and is what originally caught my eye originally when entering the manga. From the limited amount of manga I have read, this has become my favoirte art style. It’s hard to describe without you just reading it yourself but easily a 10/10.

All in all, Oshi no Ko is one of the most unique recent gen manga and one of the most enjoyable at that. While seemingly off putting at first, it delves deep into the dark side of showbiz, exposing what it truly means to be a star. I strongly, strongly, strongly recommend to read the first 10 chapters (vol 1) and make an opinion only after reading those 10. This is my second ever review so please don’t be too harsh. Best manga 10/10 if I could I would've give it 100. Peak writing, peak plot twists, peak characters, peak relationships, real shit, psychological and relatable.

Mengo's art is peak, Aka Akasuka cooked with her. If you think they only cooked once, no! They continue cooking, this show is like a fine aged vine that keeps giving.

10/10 manga this is truly a masterpiece and a fantastic read. The main cast are fantasically writen and very compleing to the point where its easy to get emotionally attached to them, they flesh out the whole main cast. The side cast is also great and much better and more compleing than most other mangas main cast, head over heals better writing and design.

The plot is amazing it is fully fleshed out, and doesnt explain things that dont need explaining, it also leaves it to the reader to figure out and put the pieces together which i love. There are so many twist and ... turns to keep you guessing the final outcome and mysteries still left to explain in the final 3 or 4 ch left.

The pacing is great, it never made it feel like any arc was draging along or ended to quickly. The manga keep you wanting more every week, there is never a moment of "i dont like this arc, its taking too long", etc its always keeping you hooked wanring more to the poj t youll be saying "you cant leave off there I NEED to know what happens next".

In conclusion i couldnt recomend this more, its a very mature manga the exposes the dark side of industries we thing are mostly good, im sure when i finish this manga it will leave me feeling empty knowing i have to say goodbye to some genuinly fantastic characters that ive grown to love, and what is truly a masterpices of story telling.

When it comes to the entertainment industry….
We see all the actors/artists/idols that are way too amazing at their job when they show off what they can do to entertain people that are watching them. But when it comes to off-screen, they deliberately think to know what is right and try not to f*ck up and not ruin their career for the people who are supporting them.

I will not talk about this Manga first but I will in a minute if you read the first part. What I need to discuss here first is what all Actors/Artists do when they have a high-end career, while all ... over the world are watching them, and also what their story is about what’s behind being part of the Entertainment Industry. (soo.. spoilers free ahead)

To start,
The Entertainment Industry is some of the best and worst that happen in people’s lives. Why? Because People on social media are some of the worst things that can ruin a professional’s life. They can criticize everyone without showing their face and can also easily get away with it because no one knows who that person was. And the only best thing that they can do is just love what they’re doing. When I’m trying to say “People”. I meant social media outlets. Like..:
Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and the most common place where some of the people are the worst is Twitter. Twitter is one of the biggest social media platforms, but what’s in there is like a hellhole. It’s good now. I think. Since a multi-billionaire is the owner now and knows how social media works. It’s a bit safe to say that the platform depends on him pretty well.

Actors/artists have sacrificed everything just for their fame, but a one big or teenie tiny flop. Their whole blood, sweat, and tears that they put in can lead to disgrace for the whole community. Like, let’s talk about the controversies right now. For example, Johnny Depp (JD) and Amber Heard:
Amber accused JD of being abusive to her.
- JD lost his contract to Disney
- After almost two decades of being part of Disney.
- Few weeks after the start of the trial, Disney wanted him back but JD turn down a $300 mil. contract, even though they wanted to bring him back.

With just this kind of exposure to the entire world, JD had a hard time trying to figure out what is best for him. People still love him because of how many sources have defended him with his colleagues. Amber on the other hand. She merely lost everything. I don’t know how many she lost, but all I do know is her role in Aquaman, her parents' reputation, and this trial.

What I can also tell is a famous Japanese wrestler. But this lost the life of a person. And name was Kimura Hana. As being part/moderator for Ai’s Fanclub translation, it is safe to say that and hard too at the same time that this part here is what made me hate social media.
So who was Hana Kimura? She was a wrestler born on Sep. 3, 1997, in Tokyo Japan. On May 18, 2020, days before her death. She received many death threats across the internationals by just this STAGED show called Terrace House. Her overreaction in the show with just a staged act made an outburst through social media and direct messaging her and leaving to cyberbullying. And on the 23rd of May 2020, the news spread to announce that Kimura Hana had died at the age of 22. The cause was cyberbullying.

To conclude the reality review here’s the last part.
Overall, these actors, artists, idols, heroes, or whatever you want to call them. They’re humans too but with a different lifestyle compared to many others. We know how famous they are and they just hope they're doing what we're doing. We can be fanboying or fangirling, yet don’t do it overboard. Might as well they creep out on you. What I’m trying to say here is to treat them the same way as you walk past people on the street.

Now Let’s get on with this Actual review. (This is where the spoiler starts)
To this sequence of a review. I love portraying things in real life and what can happen if this manga or an anime is staggered in real-life scenarios. Even though it's Supernatural, Sci-fi, or Fantasy, I still love reflecting on things in a psychedelic way. And this is one of them.

Oshi no Ko or My Star has never reached my Star in a controversial way of liking the characters. But it reached me of losing someone that you love the most. I will summarize the whole First volume
Story:
It began with a story where the world of showbiz shows where the Twin siblings have made an invitational event. ~~~~~
Let’s go to the past first, Gorou Amemiya is a countryside gynecologist who has the biggest fan for an Idol. Her name is Ai Hoshino. She is beloved by many fans all over Japan. She made a weapon for the people who kept loving her. “Lying”. Although Lying is one of the reasons why she was beloved by many fans, Lying is her form of love. Even if she doesn’t know what love is, she expresses everything by not knowing a single thing about love.
Cutting back to Gorou, he was never a fan of any Idols until one of his patients got him to like them. The name is Serina Tendouju, she was first revealed as a patient which made Gorou start obsessing over Ai Hoshino, as to Ai being Sarina's Star/Idol. Sarina, however, died due to her anaplastic astrocytoma disease.
A few months in, while Gorou is fanboying over Ai, later he found that she’s in poor health but on top of that, she is not in poor condition in the first place however she is 20 weeks pregnant with a twin inside her belly. And Gorou talked to Ai about how big of a fan he is and will deliver the baby well to her. Until a stalker found out where Ai was and killed Gorou and was not safely delivered by him. In spite of the fact that he got murdered, he was reborn as one of Ai’s twin children, Aquamarine (Aqua), and Serina is the other twin, but Ai named her Ruby.
As they get reincarnated, they still know themselves before, but they do not know how close they are to their past life. In a few chapters, Ai is secretly hiding her twins, or else the people in her fanbase will grow an outrageous headlines. And so, Ai is struggling on getting back on track because of her long hiatus in the industry. Though she was offered to be on screen, since then she made her way out again of having a big amount of fanbase and even brought her son Aqua to do some screening with her. With Ai’s multiple screening times, the Hoshino family has been living quietly without people knowing around the world that she has twin children. Until the stalker finds her again and then stabs her with a knife. This began the life of the twins and took over the whole story. In the final chapter of the first volume, the twins have aged in their teenage years, yet Aqua cannot forget the loss of her mother’s life. So he began plotting his revenge. The one person who only knows that Ai has a children. Is the twins' father.

In every volume, Aqua and Ruby are living their lives, but both of them have different paths. Ruby path is becoming an idol just like her mother, while Aqua must get into the Entertainment Industry to find their father.

Thus this finishes my summary. There might be some missing characters though, but I just want to prioritize the family point of view. Which is only the first volume that I very like.

I never been so affectionate that much to any character in Anime, but Ai's death have been traumatic experience for me. I really do have soft spots whenever there's Loving and Caring mother that builds at the point where the children have the sense that she is home. Her hugs is the home itself. And Aka Akasaka hitting us the part where she died right in front her kid was the biggest blow while reading the manga.
I get that she's a fictional character, but how she told her stories and telling her kids her last words. "I Love You". It made a huge impact to my heart. I can never ever dissolve her words out of my mind.

Losing someone that who cared for you can be the hardest part to deal with in life.

Oshi no ko is a story that makes the idol industry interesting. Not that the idol industry was uninteresting per se, but in the way that sports anime make you want to play the sport. Blending genres such as mystery, romance, idol, and other unique ones, it takes what could be a generic mystery or idol manga, and makes it interesting. And written by the author of Kaguya-sama, It was inevitable that it is turning out for the better.

The story starts extremely slow, with the first 12 chapters acting setup for the rest of the story. Killed by a stalker and reincarnated as the ... baby of a famous idol Hoshino Ai, the beginning chapters act like a semi-flashback, setting up moving characters, relationships and the setting, using subtle hints and letting the story flow quite freely. While not terrible, it doesn't matchup with the rest of the series, and shouldn't be dropped there. The flashback ends in a bang as Hoshino Ai is killed by presumably the same stalker in front of the twins, starting the story for real.

The story is a mix of a mystery, romance, and idol show each separated genre somehow blending perfectly. On a quest to find the killer, Aquamarine (The MC) finds himself diving deeper into the show business, as the killer is inevitably related to it. Each chapter is full of content and emotions, as the Manga effortlessly switches from an idol show to a high school show, to a romance, and so on. Your emotions run wild, as the story throws all of them at you, making you care for the characters and the plot. While the mystery is the main plot, it seems to run in the background, the gears slowly turning as he takes different gigs. And By showing instead of telling, it presents you with the information while not treating you like you know nothing, using gigs and shows to give you the pieces.

As mentioned, the idol industry starts to be unraveled and explained, each fact more fascinating than the last, all shown through the characters. Each character brings unique characters and differing experiences, as information about the idol and acting industry flows through the pages. Using just regular dialogue and acting gigs, their conversations, while not always relating to the industry itself, reveal small facts and information that constantly connects and builds up big ideas, overcoming the main problem of these types of shows. It shows rather than tells, hardly wasting any time explaining trivial things, hinting at them instead while other things happen. The characters are great for the kind of setting. As more and more gigs happen, they must be inevitably recycled and forgotten, but the manga doesn't feel like that. Each character feels like a real person and receives small pieces of development, not looking like disposable characters whatsoever. And using the eyes of a male protagonist who lived up to 40 years old makes it better.

So far the story shows a lot of promise and can easily be a 8 out of10.  While it doesn’t have any mistakes, there are a few generic instances, or things that could have been handles a tiny bit better. These mostly happen in the first 12 chapters, with maybe one or two permeating the meat of the series. Also, while it is stated as weekly it has been acting as bi-weekly for now, one unfortunate fact about the series. The art works well for the series, adding extra charm to it. While not the usual run of mill art, it suits the series perfectly. It stands in a mix of a shojo style and a clean and anime-esc style complimenting the scenes and the characters perfectly.

Oshi no Ko is a curious piece, blending an incredibly high emotional charge with an equally strange narrative. It kicks off with a bang, pulling you from the heights of joy down to the depths of sorrow with such ease that it leaves you in tears, deeply invested in the characters.

As we follow the journeys of Ruby and Aqua, the story shines by keeping us thoroughly entertained. Sure, some arcs stand out more than others, but throughout the entire tale, my interest in these characters never waned. The secondary characters, like Kana-chan and Akane-chan, are worth mentioning too; their complexity and distinct personalities add so ... much to the narrative.

The art style is simply beautiful and vibrant, much like the characters themselves.

Now, the latest arc may not sit well with everyone. I have mixed feelings about it myself, but I believe the ending is fitting. The story circles back to its roots, leaving me genuinely sad yet fully understanding.

This review was written before the final chapter's release, but overall, as a tragic tale, it's one I loved following. Despite its controversial and diverse points, I enjoyed reading it a lot. I believe anyone willing to dive into it will find themselves liking, crying, and being deeply moved by Oshi no Ko, which, despite its lows, leaves me with a feeling of fulfillment. I truly adored this manga, thank you.

I'm not an English speaker, and I don't have a degree, so don't expect too much from here.

There are many doubts about the world of entertainment, be it the private lives of actors/actresses or off-camera performances.
But what would it be like to put yourself from the point of view of an actor seeking revenge? Well, this manga explains it quite well.

Reincarnation, a complex that is used in many anime/manga, and to be honest, at least for me, it always seems horrible to me. Why is this manga different? Well, it's just because of their characters. A good protagonist traumatized by things of destiny; a ... sister with difficulties when she was a child; and two actresses with private rivalries from when they were little. Reading it like that sounds normal, but once you read the manga you will realize it.

The story as such is simple: Revenge.
A story of this caliber can be boring, and of course it is, it is simply a revenge due to a trauma, but this is filled with small acting arcs that fill the work well, making us see inside the characters. and what do they think, apart from incredible "performances" by the actors.
Idols are simply idols, that will shine in the adaptation (adaptation, xd).

Entertaining chapters with very good characters makes it possible for you to read this manga very smoothly, without getting bored due to its multiple aspects (and, in my opinion, character development).

Give it a try if you like characters with inner secrets and a good story of revenge, with its short chapters you'll spend your time reading very quickly.

Honestly came here to see cutie girls doing idoly/cute stuff but i was bombarded with dark/heavy psychological scenes and it was great.

Story though the premise is pretty much straightforward (spoiler) so not gonna say it. The whole ordeal is really interesting in itself having some twist here and there makes the story more intriguing.

As for the art and characters, the art side pretty much general the eyes and expression really fits the mood of every scene but yeah nothing much to say about that. For the characters though for me (bias opinion) i like all of them. They all have different roles to ... play, the rivalry of some (boats) and how their personalities are all different and relatable really hits home.

overall its just a masterpiece that is a must read.
