Started reading this today after reading Love is War, another one of his works. To start off, I honestly got mislead by the cover art and thought is was just going down the Shounen/Shoujo path; boy was I wrong... This story definitely has what I look for in most Manga.

1) Catches my attention
2) Leaves me on the edge of my seat
3) Has some sort emotional rollercoaster/a sense of realism
Lastly,
4) A clear story with a goal in mind (this isn't a must, but it definitely helps with most things I read)

Long story short; I definitely recommend reading this, it wont disappoint.

One of the few sleeves that as you go you are attracted to more and more.
The beginning of the story cannot be one of the best, at the beginning of the second chapter, it simply hooks you up and you want to keep reading more as you read the story.
The characters are unique, including with art remains a simply amazing result.
The protagonist is the typical character who has a single objective and to reach that goal he will have to do many things, which can corrupt him.
Another side of the world behind idols and actors, problems they become, in their lives to become a success ...

A story that manages to combine quite a few things together to create something very interesting. The story tackles the entertainment industry and a lot of its different parts from clean to unbelievably dirty. It also manages to highlight the serious flaws in idol culture while not dissing the actual hardworking people just trying to reach their dreams or saying that idols as a whole shouldn’t exist or are dumb. And all of that is just in what amounts to the prologue. The story has an interesting start and while they both have their flaws as well both twins manage to be lovable and endearing ...

If you're here, I'm assuming you're here for 2 things

You want to see how others think about this new piece of manga that Gigguk recommended
You want to see other people's opinions on this manga
Just as the manga itself predicted, people are heavily influecned by the modern rise of the internet, where every opinion matters. So I will do you guys some good by providing my unfiltered opinion on this manga. With that being said, spoilers will definitely apply.

Oshi no Ko is one of the best mangas I've ever read, even though I don't read much manga, this one instantly shot up into my "keep reading" ...

Oshi no Ko is very cliché in the first chapters but when you let it air out a little that's when it opens up and takes you in just like a nice scotch's smell. Oshi no Ko story is interesting and nicely paced with a lot of events. Character development is outstanding that leaves you with a melancholic feeling after reading. Oshi no Ko art is overall a nine out of ten, outstanding panel art. I've read thousands of manga and I hate most of them but this one I like so I would give it a 9/10 and would highly recommend!

(as of writing there has been 57 chapters released)

From the creator of Kaguya-sama, Oshi no Ko is an unfiltered look into Japan's entertainment industry, and it is definitely one of the best ongoing manga right now.

While the plot does begin in a very strange way (as of now I do not see the reason behind why Aka-sensei decided to start off the story in that fashion, but only time will tell) and the motivation of the MC makes it more like a revenge story, Oshi no Ko's main plot is exploring the different facets of the entertainment industry. In the span of 57 chapters, the ...

Did you enjoy the anime?
Then, you should definitely check out the manga!
It's so gripping that you won't be able to stop reading.

I revisited the manga with Kindle and Jump+(Manga+ JP.ver), and I was hooked again.
The story and characters are amazing.
The 11 episodes of the anime just aren't enough.
And the best part? You can read it for free with Manga+!
If you're a fan, don't miss out on this.

Yo, OmnipotentNinja here, back at it with another banger review!! Today, it's Oshi no Ko time!

Oshi no Ko is one of the greatest mangas I've ever had the pleasure of reading, due to a number of different factors. One of the major ones being the characters. Oshi no Ko has some of the most realistic characters I have seen in a manga. Each character feels like an actual person that has their own motives, experiences and hardships. It actually feels like I know the characters, which is something I don't often experience when reading other things. Another great thing about Oshi no Ko is the ...

When it comes to the entertainment industry….
We see all the actors/artists/idols that are way too amazing at their job when they show off what they can do to entertain people that are watching them. But when it comes to off-screen, they deliberately think to know what is right and try not to f*ck up and not ruin their career for the people who are supporting them.

I will not talk about this Manga first but I will in a minute if you read the first part. What I need to discuss here first is what all Actors/Artists do when they have a high-end career, while all ...

With the upcoming anime adaptation it’s imperative to let people know how goddamn good this manga is. Now I don’t like idol anime. The only idol show that was pretty decent was Zombieland Saga. Oshi no Ko, however, has become one of my most favorite manga recently despite having idol aspects. Let me tell you why.

The most appealing part of the manga when reading is actually the story developments. The main character’s favorite idol is pregnant and he has to ensure a safe delivery for her. Suddenly, he dies and gets reincarnated as her child… ok… weird. Despite the wacky introduction to the story, it ...

Oshi no ko is a story that makes the idol industry interesting. Not that the idol industry was uninteresting per se, but in the way that sports anime make you want to play the sport. Blending genres such as mystery, romance, idol, and other unique ones, it takes what could be a generic mystery or idol manga, and makes it interesting. And written by the author of Kaguya-sama, It was inevitable that it is turning out for the better.

The story starts extremely slow, with the first 12 chapters acting setup for the rest of the story. Killed by a stalker and reincarnated as the ...

I'm not an English speaker, and I don't have a degree, so don't expect too much from here.

There are many doubts about the world of entertainment, be it the private lives of actors/actresses or off-camera performances.
But what would it be like to put yourself from the point of view of an actor seeking revenge? Well, this manga explains it quite well.

Reincarnation, a complex that is used in many anime/manga, and to be honest, at least for me, it always seems horrible to me. Why is this manga different? Well, it's just because of their characters. A good protagonist traumatized by things of destiny; a ...

Honestly came here to see cutie girls doing idoly/cute stuff but i was bombarded with dark/heavy psychological scenes and it was great.

Story though the premise is pretty much straightforward (spoiler) so not gonna say it. The whole ordeal is really interesting in itself having some twist here and there makes the story more intriguing.

As for the art and characters, the art side pretty much general the eyes and expression really fits the mood of every scene but yeah nothing much to say about that. For the characters though for me (bias opinion) i like all of them. They all have different roles to ...

This is the first time I've written a review on MAL. I am not a newbie to Mangas and i have read my fair share. I also read Kaguya-sama which is another work by the author of Oshi no Ko.

I thought to myself, hey Kaguya-sama was hilarious and a 10/10 masterpiece with a twist on your typical romance... a new work by the same author? sure I could use some laugh.. Boy was I naive

Let me start with saying that I love Kaguya-sama and I think it's a great manga but Oshi no Ko imo is miles better. I truly think that it's ...

Story: 8/10
The story itself is a blend of great comedic beats along with some serious notes. While the story does have many interesting twists and turns, it is not without its faults. It takes quite a bit of investment into the story until it starts to ramp up. It takes an entire first volume for Aka to set the stage up (literally and metaphorically) for our MC.
The story itself takes quite a while for it to be set up, but the investment itself heavily pays off as characters are given lots of time to be built up and develop.

Characters 9/10
As expected from ...

Oshi no ko surprised me greatly. I saw the limited amount of chapters and I thought 'it's an idol story, it might be decent' but oh man was I completely wrong.
It's a wonderful and complicated story, a story that touches and shows the realistic entertainment industry, how it is in its' essence.
I read a chapter and I couldn't stop thinking about Hanabi from Kuzu no honkai, which made me happy to see that the artist had taken part of this greatly.

Now, let's get into the actual analysis.

Oshi no ko seems at first, a light-hearted comedy with some depressively realistic issues, which I love to ...

There is something better than "masterpiece" option?
Allow me to exalt the grandeur of Oshi no Ko,
A literary treasure of enchantment and complexity.
Crafted by skillful and ingenious minds,
An artistic creation that transcends the ordinary.

Within its pages, a vast universe unfolds,
Where ideas intertwine in exquisite plots.
Every sentence, every word, an intellectual concerto,
Ensnaring the reader in a transcendental dance.

I read this manga unaware that this is written by the author of Kaguya-sama, it caught me completely off guard. Anyways this manga exceded my expectations of just a normal idol group story but it is far different than that. The Art is so fking beautiful as well as the plot, it gives us some idea on what the Idol/Celebrity career is like, of course you can see this in pretty much every anime and manga that focuses on Idol Industry and groups, but this particular manga gives us that different vibe on what it is really ...

Oshi No Ko is easily the manga that has grabbed me the most recently. It even got me to switch from only reading physical manga which I can purchase at a store to reading a lot more digital manga as well. 70 chapters in, and I can safely stay I still am intrigued to see what will happen next.

Minor Spoilers ahead, but nothing major whatsoever. Primarily will be talking about story arcs not by name but by number, and will only give story details from the first chapter. That being said, read the first chapter if you don't want those spoiled for you.

Story: 7/10
