The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You is a manga of absolute insanity, but this insanity works so well to deliver a very refreshing and absolutely hilarious take on the harem genre, and stands out from the rest of Jump's lineup. It is essentially a parody manga with the absurd premise of the protagonist Rentarou dedicating himself to get together with 100 girls, or else they die. He has no free time for himself as he tries his best and works his hardest for all these girls. As of writing this review there are 22 chapters available and this mad lad ... already has 6 different ladies to take care of, I have no idea how he's going to get to 100 but I am sure as hell curious to see how this is all going to go down. The very premise alone pulls your attention due to how crazy it is, so you can't help but want to see more of this thrilling adventure progress.

The core of any harem manga are its girls, and this one certainly delivers. So far it seems to be sticking with the standard archetypes of deredere, tsundere, kuudere, etc. Along with some other interesting heroines. But despite the use of these trope heroines they are written amazingly and feel especially unique with the premise, some straight up accept the strange situation they have gotten themselves into by trying to rationalize it all, but some try to think normally about this but ultimately fail as this is not a normal situation. There are even some spicy lesbian moments between the girls since they all do have to look after and accept each other with this being a harem and all, for any fans of yuri this is very much a win-win situation. I'm looking forward to what the author comes up with next with this ever growing harem and what other interesting and unique things will come of it.

The art is beautiful and cute with its own unique style, the girls have mostly simple yet attractive designs. Although despite the protagonist's unique personality and actions Rentarou unfortunately looks quite generic, even with the unique art style, but that's just a little nitpick to the overall amazing quality of this manga.

Overall I rate this magnum opus a 10 and highly recommend it.

The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You is without a doubt one of the most true representations of its own title. We are about 12 chapters in and already a plethora of heroines have been introduced and conquered and I would be shocked if we didn't end up seeing the full 100 girlfriends by the end of this series.

Story - The 100 Girlfriends is built on a fairly simple and novel concept. That being that our main character, Aijou, has experienced 100 heartbreaks before seeing the God of Love appear before him and informing him that he was accidentally assigned ... 100 soulmates instead of and that failing a relationship with any of the 100 will result in all the girls dying. Apart from this simple premise, the manga doesn't necessary contain any huge overarching goal or rival so far. It's mainly a flavour of the week type of chapter layout, with roughly every chapter or so dedicated to a new girl. For all its simplicity, this format is fairly riveting and so far I've found myself captivated by the concept.

Art - The 100 Girlfriends actually has some fairly unique artwork and is fairly nuanced in its character designs although a couple of characters can become a bit muddled. I think a real test of the series artwork will be as the story progresses and more women are inevitably added to the evergrowing harem.

Characters - The 100 Girlfriends is largely driven by character and its ecchi elements (and in some parts its wholesomeness) so this is largely where the strength of the series lies so far. Each character has unique traits and a character to go with them which makes them all completely different in the context of the wider harem. They are formulaic to a degree and this may become even more pronounced as the series goes on but I find that the characters are interesting enough to merit at least some acclaim in this review.

Overall - So far its hard to judge how feasible this concept can be and whether the flavour of the week approach to the girls that get introduced in this series will be enough to drive an otherwise lacking story but regardless, I think it is an entertaining manga that is captivating enough to warrant my further attention in the future.

The idea of having 100 girlfriends is very interesting and chaotic, wich is probably what bring most readers to this manga... The thing is: will the writer be able to properly work with this?

I read until chapter 11 and can confirm things are bound to actually happend. The protagonist is more likely to EASILY have 100 by the end of the manga. Although, that seems like exactly the problem: it's too easy. The relashionships have 0 time to actually develop, characters have no conflict at all wich is SUCH a waste, because until what i read, them all are pretty unique and have very creative ... traits. The girls simply accept their boyfriend getting a new girl everyday as if it was some kind of hobbie. They don't even question it, i swear, this feels more like a guild than anything.

Many would say the protagonist is such a cutie patootie, and a respectable man, and he actually seem to be, BUT that's barely shown to the reader, so it doesn't really convince me. Even protagonist's personality should have been worked on more. The girls don't seem to have any self respect and already get all wet just by having a little of time with the protagonist, wich doesn't even has a big personality. The developing time is ridiculous.

The comedy is good, i certainly had some genuine laughs with this, wich made me keep up with the manga, but when it focuses more in the romance side, it's just so boring and make me wanna drop the more i read. It's even ironic having a chapter for fan service, since many of them just start to feel like a nothing-burguer filled with fan-service.

If this manga took itself seriously, it could have been something really enjoyable, with character conflicts and the good comedy at the end of the day (besides the funny point of the manga, wich is having 100 girlfriends at the end of the manga). But they opted for the classical nonsense harem (not surprised). It's even funny, the chapters start to get like "oh, (character) is so cute. *Kiss them*";"oh, (character) is so sexy! *kiss them*"; "oh, (character) is so beautiful! *kiss them*", LOL, it's just 100 girlfriends, kisses and blushes only for the sake of having it, because the reader can't actually feel something with this.
