TL;DR - It's cute, easily digestible fluff.

Expressionless Kashiwada-san and Emotional Oota-kun is an episodic gag Manga, the punchline is usually the same: Oota tries to prank Kashiwada so she makes an expression.

Since she moves no muscle he always thinks she's not fazed at all, while she is actually scared, amused or whatever the reaction was he was trying to get. But despite him bullying her on a daily basis she's really into him and he's also into her. So this has the "when will they confess" undertone a lot of other School Manga have, but in this case Kashiwada tried to confess early on, ... only for him to interrupt her.

You might think the joke with a girl with a dot as a mouth might get old after a while, but surprisingly it doesn't.

You also get a lot of meta humor and fun side characters.

So if you like generic school comedy romance fluff, here read this. The gimmick is in the title, there aren't many surprises. If you enjoy a Kuudere, read this as well.

7/10 for me.

This mango literally has a few recommendations, just under 3.9k members, 2 characters that actually made it into the DB, and a goddamn Rewrite synopsis. But no reviews.

Guess I will be the first to write one 🙄🙄.

"Expressionless Face Girl and Emotional Face Boy" is a manga I would call a fine mix into what the genre of its kind has to offer. It does follow several cliches and general character tropes, but I will tell you now that is not to worry about in the slightest. In fact, it adds to the selling point. The story is nothing grand, with our MC "Emotional ... Face" Oota here consistently pulling pranks against our other MC "Expressionless Face" Kashiwada, in hopes for her to break her expressionless face and pour out some emotions. Oota always fails by the way. Expect repetition of one trying to achieve a goal, but in a great number of ways. In saying this, it is a fun read for the most part despite the simple premise. The characters are fine too, they too stick to their guns with consistent personality and behaviour. Though they are able to give me a few giggles here and there and they feel very much human. Good stuff.

The art side of things is fine too, nothing that breaks the mould, in that, you can probably come across a similar art style elsewhere, but that doesn't make it bad. It is merely just baseline expectations met of a style. The usual everyone seems to do fine with from an audience point of view.

I enjoy this a lot, I mean, there is a kuudere here in this manga, and staring at Kashiwada's adorable expressionless face, what is to not enjoy after hearing that. Thank you Azuma Fuyu. As said, I do find myself laughing at what is given despite the cliches. Who knows too, maybe everyone will enjoy this so much it may become an anime at some point in the future.
