Although the premise of the story is not something particularly new, upon closer inspection the smaller nuances makes it a fun journey take part in. Characters and personalities are over-the-top and the misunderstandings are ridiculous.

Not too heavy in terms of drama so an enjoyably casual read if you're having a coffee or waiting for your bus. Though not smutty, the manga does offer some 'fan service' thru the character / costume design of particular characters. On the plus side, the only seemingly normal character (in appearance and person) is our main character Unoki.

I like the clean and modern-ish art style. The story takes place ... in a 'normal' setting but Toramaru, the banchou, is over-the-top strong and intense despite her tiny stature (this is always a fun combination). Unoki plays the submissive character but luckily, he isn't annoyingly whiny or useless, he's very kind and makes you want to root for him.

Pashiri na Boku to Koisuru Banchou-san is fun and casual! That's what I want and need right now, so this fits me just right!

Another manga derailed by the curse of popularity.

There's a strange paradox in terms of the stories I tend to enjoy -- I look forward to them having more chapters, yet, almost without exception, they tend to go down the hay-hell along the line. The niche ones get axed early on and leave a lot to be desired, yet the ones that become popular tend to way-overstay their welcome, and end up leaving even more to be desired.

Banchou-san falls in the latter category -- it became popular, and, as is the case in the manga world, when some work becomes popular, author will do ... anything in his/her power to maintain it for as long as possible, even if it means sacrificing everything that made it good in the first place.

If you are a romance-manga-debauchee like me, you have without a doubt experienced this phenomenon as it's the most frequent destroyer of all-things-holy. Nearly every romance manga that I've read, and that has gotten popular, has shot itself off the rails in the long run. As the matter of fact, I can perhaps think of 3 off the top of my head that hadn't -- and Banchou-san doesn't fall in that category.

With a simple premise, and even a simpler story, one of misunderstandings that seemed to have become a staple of the genre, I was along for the quiet, and hopefully 30-40 chapters long ride. A few shenanigans here and there, some misunderstandings, a bit of drama, resolution of it all, and bye-bye. In the end, however, that's not what happened.

The enjoyable, simple story went off the haywire with the introduction of a completely unnecessary character that served a single purpose -- prolong the crippling story. Whatever made it entertaining and likable at first was thrown out the window for the staple cliches of the genre, and now, fifty chapters in, I've given up. It's too stale, too boring, too annoying, and not worth it anymore. There are literal thousands of ways to introduce drama in the story, and for the life of me I will never figure out why majority of romance-manga writers seem to resort to the worst possible ones imaginable. It's almost as though there exists a curse that says there are '20 dramatic things you can write in and nothing else', and everyone sticks to it like it's the Holy Bible of Writing.

Part of it has something to do with my personal taste, no doubt, as I generally tend to avoid romance mangas that go on for longer than 40-50 chapters, regardless of whether they're seinen, shounen, shoujo, or josei. There's just something about that length that speaks to me. Now, if you look into my favorites, you'll see that it's not the golden rule I swear by, but it's certainly a general lining. And Banchou crossed it.

I said a lot, yet seemingly nothing, so let's get to the point: the story was supposed to be about a wimpy guy gaining courage over time by slowly getting to know this badass chick and, for the longest time, it looked like that was the case. Then, out of nowhere, it backtracks, spins around, shits on itself, and laughs at us, as though taunting. Now, it's a story about a retard, a vagina-having retard(s), and how long can the author milk the story for all that it's got. And, I get it -- I really do. Making it in manga business can't be easy, which is what makes stories like these even more depressing. The author had a chance to end it early and properly, but there was never a guarantee his/her next work would have made it -- so, instead, we now have more, and more, and more, and more.

Characters went from interesting, albeit exaggerated buffoons, to some limp, soggy, drab makeshifts that are about as interesting as what I had for breakfast today.

I've had my fair share of fun reading Banchou-san, which is why I won't call it that bad -- but I will say I am disappointed it turned out to be literally 'just another popular rom-com'. At this point, I can only hope for some sort of a revolution in a manga world where short, but concise stories are the ones that authors want to make, rather than long and overdrawn garbage they spew out just to stay relevant and employed. I don't envy them, nor do I hate them -- if anything, I understand them as someone who relies on popularity to remain financially afloat. I guess, we're just two sides of the same coin.

It's a decent manga, and it's certainly fun throughout its first part. I do recommend, however, letting it go during the chapter where the wimpy MC finally breaks out of his shell and admits to his feelings out loud. It was a perfect moment to end on, and everything after that is just a downward spiral that will leave a bitter aftertaste in your mouth.

So long...

If I were to sum this manga up, it would be the equivalent of Naruto's filler arcs with more focus on bad drama and forced romance.

What I thought would be a cute quirky manga with new ideas turned out to be almost everything but that. Generic situations, generic characters, forced drama and a forced conclusion. Everything about this manga was done badly (aside from the art) that I had to drop it for a long time and only picked it up today as I found it had only 6 chapters left.

The characters and the plot were probably ... the 2 things I hated. The FMC was cute but that was probably the only good part of the manga. The MC was the generic weak mc, Matsuri was the generic "love cute things" only trait kind of character, Yukata was the generic lesbian character and Aika was the forced drama entry. The whole thing was about our MCs trying to be honest with each other and confirm their feelings and it only happened after 60+ chapters. The manga was so painfully slow you could just skip like 30 chapters and nothing would change.
The forced inclusion of drama with Aika was done horribly and the overdramatic parts of it were just bad to see.
The manga was introducing drama for the sake of it and that's why it lead to nowhere and felt like a filler arc most of the time. Even the sudden YURI concept being added alongside the "Forced kiss" situation was made to be something cute because you know, it is yuri so there is no way can it be disgusting or repulsive.

I really disliked how the manga pretty much forced generic senarios and used yuri as a plot shield in the middle of it to push the almost non-existant plot forward.

The art was very good but sadly, that is the only thing that was decent about this manga.

Overall, I would give it a 3/10. Really disappointing manga for what could be considered a decent concept.

I just finished reading this manga. This manga is wholesome of MC that named

Unoki and FMC who is Banchou in the school that named Toramaru. I

recommend this manga to all my weeb friends. This plot is awesome because it

misunderstanding between those characters all banchou friends. The banchou

... brother also have their part in this character. Altough, the ex friend of Unoki has

back to the school and the MC has trauma of her and conflct between FMC

mother. The enjpyment not bad, just I hope have wedding between

them..hahaha. Thanks for the hadrwork of author and thanks for reading.

Personally, I would give this manga a 10/10, since it is one of my favorite manga. But if I were to write a honest review for other people, it would probably be a 8/10.

Story:8/10
So this is the story about a guy who has always been bullied and the banchou(basically the leader of delinquents in the school). On the first day of school, the banchou proposed to this boy but having grown up in such environments, misunderstood it as if she wanted him to be her errand boy. The story basically begins after that. There isn't really much going on, just how they interact everyday at ... school, holidays and the like.

Art: 9/10
This manga has some of the best arts I've ever seen. The characters designs are all so good looking, especially banchou, she's just so cute. Personal feelings aside, the art is just simple, but also great. Everything is easy to read, and there isn't tons of texts in every single panel.

Characters: 8/10
Literally my favorite part of the show. The main character is such a nice guy, but also not like the other weak main characters you see in your typical harem/romance shows. He really just makes you feel like liking him. On the other hand, the bachou is also very cute, although she also can get really scary sometimes.

Enjoyment: 10/10
Watching the two main characters interact is really hilarious and interesting, I guess. In the end, it all depends on your taste in manga. If you don't like slice of life shows with no real plot, then you probably won't enjoy it. But if shows that are sad, depressing, or dark isn't really your thing, then you would probably enjoy it.

This manga is just one of my favorites. It doesn't really have a plot besides their daily interactions and sometimes a short 4-5 chapter story. It is something you should read after reading something depressing, or after a long day of work.

I gotta be honest: I found Pashiri just yesterday while scrolling through the comment section of Mangakakalot. I took a look and was pleasantly surprised by what I discovered.

Story-wise it had me entertained. The first several chapters did not allow me to put the book down at all. The gags and misunderstandings also landed well with me. The hook of the story was the concept; the guy (Unoki) thinks he is being bullied as an errand boy, while the girl (“Banchou” or a leader of a delinquent group) actually thinks that they’re dating. That premise leads the way to many funny interactions and misunderstandings ... which makes it a fun read.

What I appreciate a lot about the manga is really the characters. Despite everyone having the situational awareness of a potato, their chemistry is just fun to watch, especially the two main characters Banchou and Unoki. The soft small moments when they show affection (despite completely missing the subtext) or moments when they grow to trust each other makes me smack my bed several times as I read through. Yes, it was 3AM. Yes, I had school. No, I don’t have any regrets.

Even the supporting cast was a thrill. Like the two girls. I don’t wanna spoil their relationship too much but it’s pretty kawaii desu.

The main problem of the manga to me was the final stretch. Most of the arcs nearing the end felt rushed and wasn’t given any time to breathe, which made me slightly annoyed with the MC or slightly sad that certain things are being fleshed out long enough.

And also, to what brought me to the series in the first place, the art is gorgeous and I would kill for every blush and pout drawn in that manga.

This might’ve not been the most coherent review but I hope this piques your interest enough to give the manga a read.

This is my first review so it'll be short and concise.

This manga is one you can definitely enjoy the first half and with good parts throughout the second half. The story IMO was spread out but also too condensed. I felt the author wanted to try and get a long enough series as they could but realized after Chapter 50 they needed to wrap things up. This does seem to be a trend in Rom-coms and I feel it would be better to already have solid pre-existing couples or to just have friends that don't have to form a romantic relationship. It felt they ... just needed to pair everyone off by the end of the series.

The art wasn't the most amazing but it's not something to deter someone from reading and actually had some good parts.

The characters were fine, the MC never really grew too much except in the romance department which is fine. Others complain how weak he stayed but that's just how some people are, he didn't need to become some ripped or super handsome guy. The side characters were hit and miss. The busty girl (sorry I forgot names) and the younger brother were great wingmen. The other friend was mostly annoying and made the series go on for longer since she kept interrupting. The toxic girl was written poorly since she was mostly used to move forward the romance the simplest way without stretching things out even further. The FMC's mom was very rushed, wish she was added earlier because she could've been a more fun character especially if there was more interactions between the mom and the MC. MC's mom was fine ;), and the younger sister felt like, "oh yeah i mentioned the younger sister better add her before I forget again".

Overall I recommend to Rom-com enjoyers to read at least once because it is a quick read and you should get a few grins and laughs while reading but I wouldn't put it on the top of your list.

This manga has greatly dissapointed me. What this manga could have been is a great, short fluff series surrounding a misunderstanding- a delinquet asks out a wimp and he thinks she hates him and is afraid. Eventually delinquet tsun drops and they both fall in mutual love. Common trope but cute. I am going to spoil it but it should not matter because you should not read this

However, the development is extremely slow and far and few between. Every step taken there are 3 steps taken backwards. The main girl literally asks the wimp out on a date, and he confirms its a date, ... and is a nervous, but one verbal slipup from the girl erases all that progress completely back to square 1.

Not only that, the author feels the need to insert a bully semi-yandere girl whose sole purpose is to bully the MC. But its past basic wedgies or laughter, and to the point of daily painful pranks (hitting him with a eraser, filling his shoes with slime and tacks, KNOCKING HIM UNCONCIOUS AND KIDNAPPING HIM...). Its obvious this has a defined psychological effect on this trauamtized MC who openly hates himself/ has no self confidence, but the manga offensively handwaves it as no big deal. And this mangaka has the fucking balls to try to 'redeem' her by having her state she liked him this whole time and just wanted to push him to make him happy. Which, on a face level, makes no fuckin sense since you actively trauamtized and made him miserable, but also makes no sense from a storyline perspective, as this is a girl torturing the MC so we want to see her get punished. But no, she is completely forgiven. What she did is the equivolent of a murderer giving puppy eyes and saying 'sowwy' and the judge going 'yknow what i think he learned his lesson'. Her saying 'i did these terrible things to make u happy' is textbook abusive behavior, and it was disgusting to see the author treat it as if it was fine. Its maddening.

Aside from that absolutely maddening character, the progress here is almost comical. its almost as if the author hates his work and is just actively trolling his audience. Theres also 2 other side characters, one who has a crush on the mc's gf, and the author who has a crush on her. All they do is halt progress and get in the way, annoyingly.

it fails at a romance your supposed to take seriously due to the poor writing. It fails on the fluff aspect due to the insane woman and trauma of the MC/ incessant drama. It fails as a drama due to the fact its a romance. This is overall just a failure. Maybe its due to me heavily relating with the MC and liking the girl a lot, but i felt extremely personally dissapointed at the way this manga fell apart.

I give it a 2 isntead of a 1 due to the few fluff moments it has being very cute

Real shock that this manga ended literally yesterday, however, a lot can be said about it and it's not that bad in my eyes.

In the same sense that tonikaku kawaii is a fun loving, super wholesome, ridiculous premise manga, Pashiri na Boku to Koisuru Banchou-San is the same. It follows the life of a delinquent and her believed boyfriend who in actuality is someone who is scared beyond belief of her. I say in the same sense because it definitely is nowhere near as extravagant and does have some of the drama elements that tonikaku tended to avoid.

I think the manga in general was a ... really good read, however, nothing groud-breaking or this story exclusive was shown. The story is mediocre at best and the characters really make this story what it is. Towards the end it seems they subvert the whole parents not agreeing with the relationship troupe out the window but it feels half-heartened. As if instead of actually wanting to push the doting parent narrative it wants to end the manga soon and it really doesn't help that it happened 3 chapters before it ended.

Anyways, its fun, go read it.

This is my first manga review and probably one of the few that I'm going to do, since most of the manga that I read are going to become anime so I review the anime right away.

As I can't talk about animation, I will talk about the drawing style, I think, the author's style really pleased me, remembering Nagatoro a lot, the character design is cool, charismatic and easy to associate and the arrangement of the panels and the work using branches of flowers is very beautiful.

The plot is very good, like in the beginning. At first, this manga had everything to be one of ... my favorite romantic comedies, but in the middle it started to have a chapter or two that I didn't think made sense since it was just an end to the end. Curl up is all bad, since it is very fun and fluffy. But for the end there are 2 chapters that I just couldn't stand (76 and 77), they are horrible they contradict each other a lot and it seems that the existence of one chapter annuls the other.

So about the characters. They are very good despite being just a combination of things that I have seen other romantic comedies, the protagonist couple is excellent, their whole dinamic is very cute with the funny interactions of the shy and masochistic protagonist with Kanade passionate lover are very funny (until the winding starts). And we also have the side people who, unlike most romantic comedies I see, these are very good, Kanade's 2 friends are very funny and their relationship is very docile and kind, Kanade's little brother is perfect (best boy ) and Bitch-chan is tolerable after a few chapters. In short, the characters are a very good thing in this manga.

So, Pashiri na boku to koisuru banchou-san is in fact a romantic comedy that is worth reading as much as there is indeed a slight decay (this decadence does not affect much, but in fact it is worse q the beginning q is perfect, would note 8 if it stopped there in the middle). This manga managed to amuse me all day and gave me a feeling of "I also want to make cute flirtations" which I think is the goal of any romantic comedy.

I don't even how in hell you can mess an ending like this. The manga for about the first 6 volumes was good but then around chapter 55 it went to complete mess, I don't even know why did the author think he had to have everyone included in the happy ending.

The manga should have ended way earlier the rest of the 20 chapters were not necessary at all they just made the story worst, what more he just had to add clichés for no fing reason. Like I get you are trying to prolong the manga but, the way you did was just wrong. ...

The rating need to be made to 2 parts, part 1 which is the first 50 chapters and part 2 which is the rest.
Part 1 is 4/10:
The start were good, it had freshness and curtness at the same time while still having some problems with it.
Part 2 is 1/10:
rashness in the writing, filler that had no need, the need to have an including happy ending for everyone, addition of characters from out of nowhere just for the need to add more players in to the mix, no thought of writing quality or retaining the same charm it had at the start.

so the summarize it, the first part I will recommend to read if you got no problem with prolonged journey for a "real'' relationship.
Part 2 is just a waste of time it had nothing heck even make it worst, but if you want to see the ending give it a go.

So if you like a full good story the I will not recommend giving it a read, but if you don't have a problem with a shitty ending then give it a go you will get a nice change of pace from all the rest of the romance mangas.
