So whether or not you want some short reads or something for your collection that will be easy on your bank account, here is a selection of underappreciated short series to explore your horizons with! Yo besties, I've been having a challenge of reading short manga. From Buddhism, Christian sutras, etc. to stories about emerging religious groups. Works in which some kind of fictitious religion appears are also included. A list of all the Shojo and Josei manga titles licensed in English by Seven Seas Entertainment continued I tried to compile an extensive list of the English Licensed Shojo and Josei manga titles where romance is a sub-plot at best, if present at all (many of these don't have any romance present). This is a list of the shojo and josei manga set in college/university licensed in english. It includes genres beyond romance. It doesn't include characters who are university-age but who are not in college/university/art school. This also includes series that span across high school into university, as long as a significant chunk of the story takes place in university. This is a list of Shojo/Josei manga where Female Friendship is centered on at least 50% of the time or more. Some honorable mentions that do have prominent female friendships, but in my opinion don't quite meet a minimum 50/50 ratio would be: Fruits Basket, Kimi ni Todoke, Daytime Shooting Star, Chihayafuru, and Ao Haru Ride. I'm defining "modern" Shojo and Josei manga to mean anything that began being published in 2013 or later. Obviously personal taste plays a role in whether you'll like something. I'm also trying to focus on Shojo and Josei manga licensed in English officially, so some excellent stories will sadly be missing from this list (they should probably get their own at some point). |
