STORY: 9/10
The premise of Ishuzoku Reviewers is very simple: four dudes go around touring brothels, and publish an article about their thoughts. It becomes a hit and they decide to keep doing it.
It's a relatively unique premise and it delivers well. It's a bunch of bros making a lot of innuendos and dad jokes, and I'm all for it. I definitely recommend reading the full reviews.
In comparison to other ecchi comedies, the humor in this manga is more thought-out in that ... it does not rely on the stereotypical ecchi encounters to force the reader to laugh. There are no dense protagonists tripping into high school girls' bosoms randomly. Instead you have a bunch of horny guys doing what horny guys typically do when they're horny, and having fun with it.
The best part is that it doesn't get repetitive. The author constantly comes up with fresh ideals for what kind of brothels will be conquered next.

ART: 9/10
It's rougher around the edges, definitely not something you would see in your typical generic slice of life manga. In a way, this really brings out the personality in all of the characters and brothels, as they appear with more distinction and depth. With this playfully vulgar approach to ecchi comedy, it fits perfectly. I'm no art critic, but I think it's pretty darn good.

CHARACTER: 8/10
The main cast is made of a colorful assembly of a human (Stank), an elf (Zel), and a fallen angel (Crimvael), although they usually take other additional members, such as a halfling, demon, etc. They go around touring different brothels with girls from different species, and they often have mixed opinions about these women. One thing they all tend to enjoy, however, is big oppai.
Stank reflects most of us horny males out there. He's got human tastes, cares mostly about appearance rather than "mana." He's mostly an average guy and his critique is usually positive, if possible. Somehow, perhaps because he's an adventurer, he and Zel are more reserved when money is on the line.
Zel, an elf and fellow adventurer, is significantly older and argues with Stank often about what is considered attractive. In fact, their first article is about elves, and Stank is the only one who sees them positively because they look young, while Zel rates them the lowest because they have the worst mana. His thoughts are usually either parallel or a direct contrast to Stank.
Crimvael is an angel, and is thus more innocent and reserved than the other two adventurers. Nonetheless, he has his innocence forcibly taken away after "being saved" by Stank and Zel. He sometimes has a good time when others don't thanks to his angel powers, and only dislikes it when his too-big dick is discriminated against or seen by his friends. It's noted that he has both male and female parts, which makes for a few hilarious situations.

ENJOYMENT: 9/10
I had a great time reading this manga. It had just the right amount of ecchi for me not to be horny but still enough to make the pervy situations fun to watch. This is definitely a comedy you should be looking out for in the future.

Reading Interspecies Reviewers is fueled by the obscene premise and your own unregulated curiosity. However, you will come to find that there’s a lot more to this series than it’s surface level stimulus. It’s main strength is the amount of thought put into the brothels. Since different species occupy this world, each brothel has it’s own set of rules and mode of operation. This works well with the episodic structure of the series since we get to visit a new place in each chapter. The next strength of the series is the main cast which consists of a human, an elf and an angel (and ... usually one more alternating species) who review these brothels for work. Since they’re different species their preferences and personalities usually lead to mixed reviews which are interesting to read. I personally love masha’s art and the half cartoon half anime style was perfect for this kind of story. I honestly can’t imagine a better artist for this series.

Just after finishing Ishuzoku Reviewers’ anime adaptation I was immediately curious to check out the manga. I’ll be brief because overall the content of the manga is well adapted in the anime, but there’s a few points I’ll highlight that I believe merit enjoying both the original and the anime.

Right off the bat if the overly gratuitous fan servicing was something that turned you off about the anime then I cannot recommend the manga enough. While still mature in content it ... is much tamer. Most of the manga involves the buildup of the reviewer’s sexual acts. The anime takes many more liberties with the material and fully realizes the descriptions of the reviewer’s experience in their reviews themselves. So, while in the manga the reviewers visit the establishments, have maybe a panel or two of naughtiness, and then have a cut to the bulletin posting of their review of the establishment they visited, the anime used a lot of runtime to animate those scenes in graphic detail. The manga really pushes to the forefront that Ishuzoku Reviewers is a comedy manga first and smut second, and it is for this reason I think the anime adaptation occupied such a weird space of “hentai, but very fleshed out hentai”. The anime didn’t just add sex scenes however, there are a lot of extra details in stories from the chapters covered that are not depicted in the manga at all.

The manga as of my writing has 48 chapters and seems to have a slow but steady update schedule. I think the slightly tamer nature of the manga makes it more appealing to me over the anime, but both versions definitely deserve a view if you’re a raunchy fantasy comedy otaku.

This story is one that is absurd in the best possible way. It combines sexiness and hilarity with surprising skill and is a Story and concept I genuinely didn’t realize could exist before finding this. It seeks to answer the age old question of all men of culture. What type of girl is the best to sleep with. Every chapter focuses on a different review at a new kind of brothel the gang decides to go to. The characters are funny the brothels are interesting and sexy and the story surprisingly goes into more practical factors of the different species than you would expect a ... comedy ecchi story to bother with. I can genuinely say this manga surprised me with how much I enjoy it.

*note to anyone who saw the anime first however, the anime tends to ramp up the sexy scenes more so than the manga did them so keep that in mind

Yeah that's it. I have no idea why people waste time on all these flowery reviews on this manga and its anime adaption. Those two starting words I wrote summarize everything.

Neuron activation. That's the game.

You do not start this series with an exception for a plot or finishing your quest to find meaning of live.

You come for the tits and ass, stay for the humor and genuine curiosity on what the team of idiots will do in the next chapter.

It just really is a short quick read with funny characters and situations. Definitely read it if you want to read or watch some light-hearted ... adultery fun of team of bois reviewing fantasy world brothels.

Or don't.

If you're like me, you likely watched the anime series and immediately got so attached to the characters and storytelling, that you wanted more, so you decided to pick up the manga.

Volumes 1- 3 (Chapters 1 - 28) almost intimately follow the events of the series with the exception of a few new brothels, the manga coming way earlier than the series obviously, but to viewers of the anime, you may feel underwhelmed coming into the manga.

(The manga series does become as explicit as the anime though if that's what you're reading for, don't worry.)

But as soon as I got to volume 4, I got ... hooked and remembered exactly why I loved this series, and why Amahara is such a great writer.

Ishuzoku Reviewers follows the adventures of three main protagonists, Stunk the Human, Zel the Elf, and Crim the Angel, with many notable side characters that show up frequently, they review Succu-Joints as the world builds around them.

The worldbuilding in Ishuzoku Reviewers is actually exceptionally good, the anime series only having one season (so far) only manages to barely touch on the story, but the manga especially in later volumes, really really delves into the political worldbuilding, and research of Crim, angels become a central focus point in the story, as they both influence the church and story, and the magic needed to give the reviewers ways to review new brothels.

The story doesn't take away from the comedy or sexy stuff though, you'll be getting plenty of that still, it's hilarious, with some truly out there Succu-Joints.

The church gets introduced, as well as Demia and Deathabyss becoming significant characters, they seemingly take an antagonist role, but their intentions seem nuanced and generally help the reviewers, for example, the research intro Crim's resistances allow them to create resistance rings so our adventurers can go back and review Salamander girls, or take an ice cold bath with cold-element girls.

The series is great because all characters really have their own intentions, their own goals, and we don't see the full picture, we get to learn of the goddess and her behavior of abandoning worlds when things lead bad, as other angels start to take actions into their own hands, some angels wanting to purposefully break their halos so they can interact with the world, and the church investing in Demia to fix it.

This is just a little bit of how much goes on in this world, and all the new things you learn help add to the immersion of the world Amahara has created, all the conflict and stakes feel natural, and they build from a world that clearly has history.

As a reader, I was truly invested in the worldbuilding and lore this series has set up, Stunk Zel and Crimvael become all the more amazing characters.

There is a story between Zel and Mitsue in the manga that I will not spoil, but is one of the sweetest things I have ever read, they let the story be serious when it wants to be, sad when it wants to be, and hilarious when it wants to be, the tone never feels misguided, even in such an explicit series it works.

Overall, the Ishuzoku Reviewers manga exceeded my expectations and gave me everything I loved from the anime series and more, if you care at all about the story from the anime series, pick this up! it's hilarious, sexy, and has an incredible story.

And if you loved the creative brothels and play of fantasy tropes in the series, you will LOVE the manga.

I won't spoil any brothels, but they never lose creativity with them.

Masha is also a great artist and always manages to put Amaharas ideas into such great art, you can tell how much it improves 8 volumes in,

Genuinely great series, it deserves a season 2, and now I wait for the next volume, I hope this series doesn't end for as long as the creators have an interest in it.

I decided to give this one a try because of the surrounding controversy with the anime and damn it's really good.

I still don't understand said controversy though, from what they said i expected hardcore sex, and it's just friends hanging out. To be honest your average harem romcom has way more breasts.

But jumping to the manga, it's an outstanding art, although irrelevant, the plot works and it's very mature. I've been to a lot of these clubs myself and the experience it's really similar to what they describe in the series, apart from the interspecies stuff.

The reviews really stand out, really feels like something professional, ... like you could grasp what is happening there. I'd reccomend this to anyone looking for a good sitcom to kill some time, it's definitely worth it.
