Story: 7/10

I like this story concept. Sixteen year old girl works as an eroge voice actress. I'm not sure if it's legal, but let's assume it is. I like how the sixteen year old (Kanna) was basically coerced into working as an eroge seiyuu by her older sister, and how Kanna is basically learning about the world of sex on the fly. As Kanna acts, she learns much about the world of eroge...and sex. It baffled me how little a sixteen year old girl knew about sex. I found it interesting and her overreacting to certain ... information charming and amusing.

Art: 7/10

No complaints; doesn't blow you away. This is a mature manga, so there are some sexually suggestive pictures and whatnot, but anything remotely interesting is censored, so don't get your hopes up XD. What I like about the art is how the mangaka really grasps the shock in Kanna's face each time she learns something new.

Character: 9/10

Loved this about the manga. Many characters have been introduced thus far (chapter 15), and they've all more or less had enough face time to really know them. You know each person's personality and their quirks. You have to be a little eccentric to be working for an eroge company, and each character is eccentric in some way. It's all funny though; nothing bad. Except that guy who calls himself "horsedick", but MOVING ON...

Enjoyment: 7/10

A 7/10 seems low to me; I don't know. The manga is VERY enjoyable. It's an ecchi comedy with rather crude sexual jokes and innuendos that'll have mature readers laughing. I suppose I've simply read too many of this genre to full enjoy this manga. What also deters from me rating it higher is that chapters are released so slowly you can't enjoy it.

Overall: 7/10

An ecchi adult manga with a ton of comedy that features a GREAT character cast. If you are a fan of the genre, you will enjoy all the crude jokes, double entendres, awkward situations, etc.

I don't usually review publicly any kind of anime/manga, because I find difficult to express what I feel and make my opinion clear enough. Also because English is not my main language, but that's besides the point. Please bear with me for a moment and take into consideration that this is MY point of view on this manga, and MY opinion. Having said that, lets get right into it:

Story: 9/10

Considering the date that the manga was written, and the kind of plots other mangas (H included) have, I think I can safely say that this was an original and interesting plotline all along. We did ... see some similar ones in ero-stuff, but precisely Koe de Oshigoto! is unique because it takes those ideas usually only seen in +18 content and brings them over to the reader in a much safer way, accesible for a larger audience. Also even though the plot is spread along a kinda long stretch of chapters, each and every one of them feels important in its own, you don't really feel like there's "filler content." Also, to really judge the story one has to finish it, and sometimes the ending of a story feels off or out of place. Luckily, this wasn't the case, and I can say I left the book feeling satisfied. An interesting story from start to end.

Art: 9

The art is nothing really special or exquisite, but it being kinda simple and that ero-feeling vibe it has is actually what makes it charming in its own way. Sure, it can become monotonous after a while, but it's still not "boring", and except the fact that some characters are hard to tell apart one from another, I have no issues with it.

Characters: 10

Let me just say what a character in this manga said himself: the story becomes much more interesting if the characters are. And hell be frozen if these characters weren't charismatic and enjoyable! Each one is a unique piece of the plot, putting their grain of sand into it. You have variety, but far from being a case of "A lot to see but nothing to delve into", each personality is well defined and you can explore their mindset through their dialogue and motivations. They truly feel alive, alas a bit eccentric at times, but they're the kind of people I'd love to have around to interact with. They make it easier to immerse oneself into the story, or at least that's what happened to me.

Enjoyment: 10

I think I've made myself clear enough, right? This was super-enjoyable in all of its aspects, specially the comedy and character development. From the happy-go-lucky moments, to the heart-warming ones, you're sure to have a smile on your face 24/7 while reading this piece of art.

Overall: 9.5 (10)

Koe de Oshigoto! is a story about that typical Japanese girl, all innocent and oblivious to almost any sex-related knowledge, being drawn into the world of eroge and voice-acting and meeting some really interesting people along the way, all for the sake of her maturing and opening to a new vision of the world. And it was one of the best mangas I've had the honour to follow until its end, quickly becoming my Top 6 on mangas I've fully enjoyed, and would recommend. Heck, I might even read it again! I wish they made more OVAs, or a full-fledged-13-episodes-anime.

Story= 8
The plot is really told in the title.
Kanna, who just turned sixteen, was asked by her sister to work for her company as a seiyū (voice actor/actress). What she didn't know is that her sister's company is an eroge (erotic game) producer. The story is really humorous, just imagine an innocent high school girl, saying naughty things in an erotic voice.

Art= 8
The art is fine, some char. looks so cute. But still, there's nothing special to it. Yet all in all, the art is fine, it's ... art is not something that will you you lose excitement while reading.

Character= 8
I love how the author made the characters with different attitudes. This one is shy, this is naughty, he is weird, she is eccentric, they're straightforward he is a pervert and so like that. Because of that, this made the story more interesting. Come to think of it, having a story with characters who has a same personality, is boring.

Enjoyment=9
Some scenes really cracked me up, I sometime laughed harder than I should. This manga has other genres but they focused it on the comedy part, which I really like.

Overall=8
This one is average, it has nothing special to it, yet it's pretty good. If you're 16 above or old enough and like adult comedy that has a little romance in it, then I recommend this for you. It's ecchi not hentai.

Obviously this will be reviewed in the same viewpoint of someone talking about Kimikiss rather than Clannad/Gurren Lagann. Anyways, let's see...

The general structure is pretty interesting, as well as an excuse to squeeze two nosebleed-causing mechanisms next to each other - namely, a shy high-school girl being cajoled into being sensual (the whole trance thing is an added bonus to the select demographics) and the workings of an eroge/other sexually explicit things that people just HAVE to do...for the sake of the company/family, of course. There's nothing especially special about it, it may develop, etc etc, but right now it's nothing especially cool, it's just ... a comfy setting. This leads to a nice 7.

Nothing that will lead to catharsis or enlightenment in terms of the artwork here, but it's not old-fashioned and it's cute enough, which means - in the biased way that I am - it gets a 6.

The characters I am very split on. Yayoi and that other guy that's running the whole childhood friend biz (Nagatoshi or whatever) ends up just being a running commentary for the most part, the professional seiyuu pair is a very nice side character development that I would like to see go further, and the artists are there to make the place not feel lonely but are otherwise superfluous, as are the female friends of Kanna - except they provide more fanservice/tension/plot railroading by harem-ing the place up later on, which I guess is fine.

Motoki, on the other hand, can pretty much just suck it. Quite honestly, as necessary as the whole 'reluctant blushing high school boy who got landed into a ridiculously strange/cool situation' may be, they don't give enough either coolness or some other redeeming personality to the guy to make up for being next to/inevitably stealing away the heroine. This is not the Misaki x Usui Maid-Sama shoujo pairing where you're just like "can't blame the girl for being into that guy" - namely, because he's just too quirky/nice/funny/honest/awesome. This is just like watching your best friend get the girl you liked. In front of your face. Several times. Without even trying. It's just my opinion, but I don't like being stuck in that situation, because I can neither imagine myself to be Motoki nor can I sympathize.

As for Kanna, she's a nice enough character, a bit more realistic than the rest, though the transition she makes from "omgwtfbbq eroge" to "oh yeah gimme that" is a bit too fast and choo-choo railroad for my tastes. I guess the fanservice requires it though, and she does pull out at the standard stops - namely, when new vocabulary comes around. There's certainly nothing to really dislike, but for right now, she's little more than the core of the fanservice/fetish machine that is part of this manga.

Because of the 'horsedick' guy/the big-chested girl combo + Kanna fanservice, I give the character rating a 7, slightly edging out the Motoki difference.

Enjoyment is a 7 - quite honestly, even with the viewpoints of more ecchi/romance/slice-of-life mangas I can't put this on the same level of enjoyment as, say, watching Amagami SS, where the changes happened rapidly but it was fun just to watch the regular interactions, the inner voices, and the blushing happening. The sporadic gobs of risque incidences and the general unfolding of the various character biographies make me feel comfortable, but it's not a series where I was/am raring to get to the next chapter. Sure, I'll keep up to keep that high from reading ecchi manga in my veins, but it's not addicting enough. Thanks for the fanservice, but you're no Yosuga no Sora.

Overall 7. Enjoy it, hide it under your bed, take it out at times of scarcity. It will serve you well.

One of my all-time favorite manga. However, do keep in mind that I've had a history of reading plenty of ecchi and hentai, and as such am much more tolerant of those scenes and topics.

Story - 10/10
Incredibly sweet, funny, cute, yet captivating story. Even though it follows a more slice-of-life approach with less of a central driving plot point, there are linked-chapters, and most chapters flow smoothly without leaving big question marks. Well thought out and ties up most loose ends. Not many cliches or annoying fan-service, and ones that are there makes sense (I don' count the "ecchi scenes" as fan-service as they fit ... into the plot progression well. Thorough explanation for jargons throughout. Might come off as a little preachy regarding eroge, but it makes its point well and becomes totally forgivable.
Good pacing, although I wouldn't mind it being 30 chapters longer for the enjoyment. Plot actually progresses reasonably within the chapter.
Amount of drama/problem is just perfect to stir the story, but not leave the reader frustrated and/or depressed. The nature of the issues/drama is also light, and gets resolved quickly but also reasonably and with obvious care to detail and story continuation (no big deus-ex-machina type turnarounds).
Also, highly recommend you specifically read "Shishunki Crazies" before this, you'll see why.

Art - 9/10
Perfect art style for this kind of story, although it's not anything glamorous and might even come off as a bit out-of-date. Personally enjoyed the fact that it's in black and white. For some reason, that conveys the characters' sentiments well. Characters are defined and distinct. Kanna's so cute. Very similar to "Jitsu Wa..." art style in the sense that characters' facial expressions remain "world-consistent," so that the reader can tell a glare is a glare no matter who it's on. I find that nice, although some might prefer more variety. Art style is also consistent between characters.
Background and scenery are nothing special, hence the 9/10. However, the author's experience in drawing hentai manga definitely influences shading choices and style in many scenes, for the better. Some attention to detail.

Character - 10/10
Kanna's so cute! Definitely memorable and likable characters. Supporting characters introduce conflict, but also act as proper support for the MC's when all is said and done. Could do with a little more expansion on their own arcs, but still good as is. Characters are distinct and do not fit in stereotypes, mainly because they grow out of them and become something more by the end.
Main male character is highly relatable, realistic, and demonstrates growth. Main female character might come off as a little static throughout, but it works well, and there is decent development.

Enjoyment - 10/10
Super super enjoyed this manga. It's long enough to sit down and read over a couple days, but also short enough to binge. Thanks to its more slice-of-life style, you can pause reading whenever and it won't feel frustrating (don't have that urge to know the ending); even the manga's characters take this laissez-faire attitude as well. The plot doesn't make you feel tense all the time. Plot armor is just right to keep you at ease that nothing will go TERRIBLY wrong. If you're looking for a nice and cute yet hilarious and mature (both in topic and presentation) manga, this is for you.

Overall - 10/10. Would be an 11 if possible.

Minor Spoilers? Maybe?

7/10 for me. Gets points for originality, a cute and mostly angst free romance between the two MC (with almost no harem antics to speak of! A definite plus), a likeable cast, very good dialogue and most importantly, keeping the anime tropes to a minimum in the "real world", while allowing the tropes to exist in the erotic games. Also had some decent introspection and understood and accepted the absurdity of its own story.

All that being said, while the background art was fine (not spectacular but not bad), the character art gets like... a 3/10 from me. It's not getting lower ... because the author was trying to keep it realistic and none of the characters were intentionally deformed or anything (think Haruyuki from accel world, or that kid from the detective show with like 1000+ episodes), but otherwise it was pretty poor. The outgoing blond friend looked almost exactly like the main guy characters cousin. The only differences were the bangs (sharp vs flat) and a ribbon in her hair. The eyes on ALL the girls looked almost the same, as did the faces. Speaking of the cousin, while that storyline did end satisfactorily, I felt like she was completely unneeded. Why did we need to bring in another girl who has the same ability as the MC, and had the same romance interest? It certainly didn't improve the story. I assume the writer's editor wanted some conflict thrown in. But judging by how quickly the whole "cousin is in love with the MC" arc stopped, i assume ratings started to plummet and they canned the idea. Also would have liked a better ending chapter, but this one was fine.

Anyway, all around decent manga. Didn't excel at anything, but the good parts were good, and i definitely laughed out loud at some parts.

Story: When i started reading this i wasn't really expecting much from the story but as i started to read more of the chapters i actually enjoyed it even though the jokes were pretty... let's just say "sexual".
But, the ending was interesting though.

Art: kinda reminds me of the artstyle from the early 2000's. Which i kinda didn't like.

Character: The character development is great. But, i wish that "the two of them" confessed to each other a little earlier in the story and not when the manga was nearing it's end. (Which i didn't like as well.)

Do i recommend reading it? Not really, but if you ... wanna read something that has some "sexual" comedy in it then go ahead and read it.

tl;dr: A story with hit or miss comedy that does well in terms of some story aspects but drags on incredibly with others.

This manga in terms of tone was very different from what I expected. Despite having to do with the eroge industry, it was surprisingly tame, wherein not much really happens really. Like the scenes they're acting out are obviously ero, but that doesn't bleed much into their actual lives. Rather, it felt for the most part that it was trying to be more cute than ero. I can see the appeal in that, gap moe but kind of in reverse, though I'm not much of a fan. In terms ... of story, it was decent. The story felt like it was dragging on at times, especially when it was starting out, but once it started adding in new characters it remained interesting enough, even though it did feel like nothing was really happening at times. It felt like there were two kind of storylines, one regarding the various characters growth within the industry and interactions therein, and the other involving romance. The former worked out pretty well with a lot of solid growth and it ultimately coming to a pretty great conclusion. It also made a good point about not being judgmental, but to some degree considering the likely audience it's probably preaching to the choir. The whole story regarding romance between Kanna and Motoki, with the random side with Ayame, was much more of a mess. It was incredibly random, and to a large degree didn't even make sense. I have no idea what they were trying to do with it, and though it ultimately had a conclusion that seems solid enough, it should have happened long ago and how long the buildup was simply didn't work. Regarding both of these aspects, I think the cast of characters was really good, and I was fond of pretty much the entire main cast, who were all weird but pretty awesome. The comedy was reasonably solid, though kind of repetitive. The art and designs were quite plain.
