Story of a depressed young adult with existencional crisis and how the interactions with others influence his life (mostly not in a good way), including family and attempt at romantic relationship. In both works the psychological state of the protagonist is expressed using amazing illustrations. 

Manga adaptations of No Longer Human novel by iconic horror, crafted using their specific style. Both have alternated story, yet still remain the as tragic as the original. 

They are similar in the sense that they are both based on novels. Obviously Ningen Shikkaku is much darker but still these they are kinda similar as they both deal with grief. 

Both manga consist of unfortunate events that happen upon the young main characters: family issues, personal issues, environmental issues, etc. Throughout both mangas we see how their mental health and lives deteriorates because of the choices they made during their childhoods. 

A portrayal of an individual who struggles with becomeing a proper member of the society, a proper "human". Both are told from first person narrative and both have parts where the protagonist becomes addicted to a substance. 

While completely different in its story, both have despair as a central to the plot and observe how it can affect people. 

Build around the episodical life of the protagonist and how they keep attracting those people of opposite gender and those people keep meeting gruesome end. The protagonist themselves are of course tragic too. Both are manga by Junji Ito. 

The portrayal of a man from his younger day to an adulthood as he struggles to be a part of the society and deems himself unable to.
