Synopsis

At Hope's Peak Academy, an elite school for "Ultimate" students, 16 teenagers have gathered together to begin their new year. However, once they set foot inside, they all promptly pass out and awaken later in a classroom. A pink and white bunny named Usami appears and informs the students that they will be going on a school trip to an island, and that they can leave once they become good friends with one another.

However, their fun in the sun is quickly interrupted by a black and white bear named Monokuma. He overpowers Usami and introduces himself as the students' headmaster, revealing that they are on a "School Killing Trip": if they want to leave, they have to kill one of their classmates without being caught. When the first body is discovered, Nagito Komaeda, the "Ultimate Lucky Student," strongly believes that none of them could be capable of murder. However, with so much at stake, even Komaeda's feelings of hope may be overridden with despair.

While the other story is told from Hajime Hinata's perspective, I'll have to read the same trials, same investigations, and see the same deaths/executions. So basically, I'm going to end up buying the same 2 volumes of manga twice with little change. That is really frustrating. But those read more

This manga was a weird mixed bag for me. I have played all of the Danganronpa games in the series and, like most fans, really enjoyed Super Danganronpa 2. Even though it is not my favorite, the cases and characters make the story amazing.

This series focuses on Nagito Komeda, the game's antagonist, a character who has a lot of strange and passionate beliefs, consistently baffling his peers and dehumanizing himself. The game mostly treats him as a weird character, but he is revealed to have more character than most would expect near the end. The game does not go far into his story, but luckily, read more
