Yuuri Shibuya is an average high school student whose passion in life is baseball. That is until he intervenes in the bullying of a classmate, Ken Murata, and gets his head dunked in a toilet. Surprisingly he is sucked into the toilet, and ends up in another world. When he reaches dry land, he sees some people dressed in medieval costume and speaking in some weird vernacular. He assumes that it is a theme park of some sort. However, the people are afraid to see him and begin to pelt him with stones. There he meets Adalbert von Grantz who uses some form of magic so Yuuri understands the local language. Conrad Weller and Günter von Christ then rescue Yuuri and take him to Blood Pledge Castle, the residence of the Maou, where he soon finds out he is the new Maou or Demon King will rule over 'Shin Makoku' (True Demonic Kingdom).

He also meets up with Wolfram, to whom he accidentally becomes engaged through a mishap.

Throughout the series, Yuuri is constantly confronted with the results of even the smallest choices he makes. With a strange power dwelling inside of him, Yuuri becomes a deliverer of justice in the world of Shin Makoku.

What happens when you see a friend getting bullied?
You try to protect them, right?
So you go up to the bullies and well, then you realize your friend ran off and now the bullies want to dunk your head down the toilet, what happens next?
You get flushed down the toilet of course!

If that didn't happen to you, reasons aside, then it's what happens to the main character of this story.

The story was forgettable in its' myriad of clichés, it was fun and easy-going for the main character to realise that he is the king of all Demons and with the help of his extremely gay pals, read more

Well, the story starts to develop very strongly a little before mid-way.
If you ACTUALLY PAY ATTENTION TO THE BEGINING, Yuuri is clearly straight (i'm saying this to all the people who get akward with gay characters or a storyline with them. AND YES YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!) oh by the way i'm one of them! just not as bad as SOME PEOPLE (Maz-Maz).

Warining: this is going to be long so just make sure to read the bottom. You can skip the middle if you like.

To begin with this was my favorite series, yes you read that right and you even read my rating right, it used to be my no. 1 with a perfect 10/10 but then shit happened. I'm very much disappointed with this series. They initially advertised it as comedy but came down to "fan-service" for fujoshis in the end.

What the manga accomplished:
✓ Reaching a whole new level of stupidity
✓ Yuuram fujo pandering
✓ Lots of standing around and talking nonsense
✓ Destroying the story
✓ Destroying the characters
✓ Saying bye-bye to brain and logic
✓ Leaving behind even more unanswered questions
✓ Making (female) characters not needed for fujo pandering disappear read more

First of all, I can't claim to have read everything, I have seen only bits and pieces from both its anime and manga and I don't know which one is closer to the original light novel, but I'll write from what I have seen since it's still ongoing and very long.

Story: 8
The plot seems to be very silly at a first point, but soon even the stupid "flushing" process gets explained, or at least thanks to Ulrike (which seems to be in the original novel and anime but doesn't appear in the manga?), plot seems to be progressing very well and gets rather serious quickly. read more
