NGNL: Practical War Game is - compared to other NGNL novels - considerably better and easier to understand. It is basically set in the same time as Vol 6 - aka Great War. I must say that even though I absolutely adore the story of Riku and Schuwi, this volume is mainly about characters that were only briefly mentioned in the movie and here they can get a much more place. Specifically, I would emphasize the chapters about Elven and Flügel society. Kurami/Fiel relationship and the strategic maneuvers of Think Nirvalen and Nina Clive against Dwarf Lóni Drauvnir who sadly wasn´t even mentioned in the movie despite playing quite an important role in the War) The fact that nudity is largely reduced in this novel also helps to its quality.
All in all, one of the better novels and a must-read from any real NGNL fan.
