| I saw a gang of gypsy kids try to rob a young guy on a bus today. They tried to start with me before him but I sent them to fuck off. So they started with this guy who seemed like easy picking, maybe 16 or 17 years old. There were like five other people in the bus and (as always in my experience) no one did anything. So they started kicking him and I didnt do anything either. He was all right in the end, he managed to get out of the bus and they didnt chase him. I thought about it later and gave myself a lot of excuses for not taking action i.e "I just moved here" "I dont even speak their language" "am I supposed to punch a kid or what" but I am starting to think thats a cope, what to you think I should have done? Or rather, have you ever helped a stranger like this? I honestly think I acted like a pussy. I cant talk about this with ppl close to me so I guess this is the place. Maybe the one good thing that guy who got kicked around will learn is to not wear glasses in public as a young guy. Gypsies taught me to wear lenses too but in my case they werent kids. |

| I would assess the situation first: 1. You said they left you when you threatened them and they looked for an easier target. So it means that they can be intimidated and reasoned with. 2. Are they armed? If they left you when they got intimidated, there's a chance that they're not. Or if they are- there should be news about them killing people if they resist. 3. Are they a protected class? If you touch them would you get in trouble? Theres a reason they're doing those thing since they probably can get away with it With that in mind. - If they are 100% unarmaed, and not a protected class. = I would get physical. - If they are 100% unarmed and a protected class. = I would intimidate. - If there's a big chance they're unarmed. = I would intimidate, but back off when they show a weapon. - If they are armed = I will just keep quiet. Are you a pussy? Well if they were unarmed and you didnt do anything, then yes you're a pussy. They already got intimidated by you anyway. But if you thought that they were armed and put your safety first then there's nothing wrong with that. |

I couldn't just stand by, so I gave them a proper lesson. Overall, it turned out to be fun - the stall owner gave me some free pizza, and the poor dude told me about some cool squat party in a fort up on a hill. I never would have found it on my own, haha. | I think it's understandable to look after oneself in a situation like that. Personal safety is a top priority for most people including myself. But as for what I would do in a situation like that, I don't think I would immediately know what to do if I were to see a group of gypsy kids all kicking a young guy in an attempt to rob him. I may have to try and see if they have weapons on them or not before acting. If I was pressured to act fast though, I guess I would just alternatively pick up one of the gypsy kids from behind and then use his body as a weapon to slam onto his friends. |

| Typical gypsies. I grew up with them, so its a familiar story to me. Honestly, its a difficult situation. I probably wouldnt interfere either. They really can beat you or even kill you. And also irl im a weakling, so maybe in a similar situation i would be in this guy's place lol. Unfortunately, in this terrible reality everybody is for himself. But in comments here was good advice about record them on camera and showing video to the police. Although i dont think its will help. Or maybe you should have record it and posted it online, blurring the face of the guy who was attacked? Honestly i dont know. Btw is situations like that often happen in your country? I have seen a lot of videos of attacks in Europe and US. I wonder if things are really that bad there, or maybe it just seems that way. |
