| Firstly this is a anime only space so any manga readers no spoiling. So Ive been seeing all sorts of thoughts on people's takes on the movie and I've seen a fair few people disappointed on Shinobu's performance against Douma. Which idk I find kinda surprising which may be because im a manga reader. But I mean I feel like people are forgetting this is upper moon 2 the third strongest demon in existence and we remember what happened when a hashira last fought a upper moon with no help he got himself killed. (Gyokko and Zohakuten don't count there was other people in those fights same technically goes for the fight with Kaigaku since Zenitsu received help at the end) And plus I think people also don't seem to realise Shinobu is around the same power level she was during when we first met her on Rui's mountain. No encounters with a lower or upper moon and most importantly she never once took part in the hashira training so she never got much of any further training unlike every single hashira. (Except Rengoku he dead af) But idk I just kinda wanna know what people think on this. Hell manga readers can throw around their thoughts if they wanna (No spoiling) |

I honestly thought that was just a vocal minority, lol. The same type of folks who ramble from time to time about supposedly "mid / bad / naive writing" and offering totally lame alternative scenarios in return. xD Because yes, Shinobu going solo against Douma and winning, because "my revenge is even stronger than my sword, skills, knowledge, blah blah" or something like that, would be totally an unrealistic way to handle that fight. And also lame, if you ask me. Shinobu did everything she possibly could. She fought the third strongest demon in existence (weaker than Kokushibou and, of course, Muzan himself) all on her own. Even if she had been physically stronger, I don't think her performance would have been much better, aside from maybe lasting a little longer. Heck, even if she had gone through the Hashira training, it probably wouldn't have made a huge difference. We're talking about a single Pillar facing off against Upper Moon 2 demon. What's more, the fight actually looked better in the movie compared to the manga, so while I could understand some anime-only fans being disappointed (Shinobu is a popular character, after all), it would be surprising to see manga readers complaining about how the fight looked in the anime. |
| I'm not disappointed as I didn't expect much from it, but it pales compared to the other 2 major fights, especially the ending. Shinobu's death wasn't impactful, and in my mind, I just went, "Is that it?" |

| There's no way, it's literally like the manga but better, and it's not like they could have done much more than that. It's an incomplete fight that takes 14 chapters to continue in the manga. If anything the structure of the manga could be better, but the production commitee doesn't let them make big changes. Direction has very little to do with this in this instance. |

I'm not really disappointed with the fact she lost, because that makes a lot of sense, but the way the movie handled it, it really felt like it just happened, and it really didnt feel like there was as much importance placed on what happened to her as they should have been. Then again, maybe placing too much significance on it would have disrupted the flow of the movie, and I'm pretty sure that movie 3 will touch on what happened to her and probably others, with more significance

| @-Ezra- I won't spoil anything but you probably feel like that since I mean the arc realistically has hardly begun a lot of the movie felt incomplete naturally because theres still two more movies. And I think that feeling stood out the most in Shinobu's fight |

| @Adnash I think most the complaints are coming from anime onlys since naturally they don't get the bigger picture and yeah the whole outcome of this fight plays perfectly to her character. I literally had a whole discussion with someone regarding this not long ago and they just ended it with fighting with your own intelligence instead of strength is cringe. But putting that loser aside yeah I think its just anime onlys complaiing for the most part. I myself am a manga reader and didn't have a issue with it. But boy if they thought she under performed and complained just wait until the see |

He said at the beginning I can't convince him IQ matters in a fight no matter what and I suppose I was right. People will stay delusional lmao. Actually direction has everything to do with it lol. And manga structure has nothing in this coz it works perfect in the manga. It might not translate as perfect in a anime movie format, but they could have adapt it to since that's the decision they tookIf anything the structure of the manga could be better, but the production commitee doesn't let them make big changes. And the "production commitee doesn't let them make big changes" is complete BS. If they can make an anime original episode and make ~70% of anime only contents from a mini arc, I'd say the production committee is pretty lenient.
Anyway I had no probs with it. Just wanted to dispel some of the things you said
| @Magpareddi What I said is true, they are not allowed to make big changes, that's because Yuma Takahashi is a big fan of the manga and wants the anime to "replace" the manga. This is also because it is a Shonen jump manga, and they are more strict with adaptations. Kimetsu no Yaiba is the only anime where ufotable has copy-pasted almost all of the inner monologues from the source material, which is something they never do, even if they have enough time, because inner monologues are not suppoused to be in audiovisual formats in the first place (there are exceptions). And adding extra content is a different story, it just complements existing material, it doesn't make big changes to it. So no, this has nothing to do with direction, it's a production commitee thing. In any case, in the movie, it works the same as in the manga if not better because of the music. Her death has more attention than in the manga just by giving each shot multiple full screen seconds rather than a small panel in a corner, but it still doesn't have a lot of attention because the fight is literally not over yet and it takes 14 chapters for it to get back to that fight and finish her arc, which is tied to Kanao's, and that's just how the manga is written. A TV series wouldn't solve that either. Personally I think the way is written is fine and doesn't really need changes, but it will feel incomplete until we get to 162-163. |
