I was silently laughing at how many stupid parents brought their kids to this movie thinking "this is cartoon so it's a children's movie". I even saw some families leaving when the fights started and they realized this isn't something you would show to your 5yr daughter.

Didn't happen when I went to see it but I guess you wouldn't go to see it unless you have seen the whole anime already since it's litteraly the final arc.

Maybe the parents were there to see the movie and brought their kids cuz there was nobody to see after them.

@Paul It's 13+ or equivalent in most regions. And some people aren't even smart enough to look that up.

There were plenty of kids and they loved it. A bit of blood is not going to scare them, the ratings for this movie in many countries are insane. If it's the parents who had problems, they should've just done a Google search to see what Demon Slayer is. Which, in my opinion, is like a 12+ kind of a show.

I am not talking about middle school level of kids. There were many families who literally brought babies with them. Like I said the kids, or to clarify the "children" looked about kindergarten age. The parents probably thought this will be like pokemon or something.

@Captain-577 crazy to me, coz you'd think anyone seeing this movie has already seen the previous parts. Like this is so far into the series

Yeah there were multiple people I saw bring literal infants to it, and I went to the IMAX showing, that was absurd. Let alone the kids who obviously were not at the age that could sit down and watch a 2 and a half hour movie that were being annoying throughout. Tho even with all that, the more annoying part was the people directly behind me and to the right of me that were just talking the whole time. I don’t go to the movies often, and this was a good reminder why. Tho to be fair, it’s probably mainly a dub showing issue, which I only went to cuz the people I went to see it with don’t watch subs. Would’ve been a way better experience subbed I’m sure.

Well I thought the 5 year old was an exaggeration, but I guess there really are parents that dumb huh. I know there's an unsettling amount of people who still think animation is little kids stuff, but I mean, what did they expect from "Demon Slayer" lmao.

Anyway, I didn't see any kids that little in my theater, the youngest looked about end of elementary school.

My theater was packed and there was a variety of people. Mostly were teenagers or young adults but yes there were parents who came with their children. There were older adults as well.
If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.

It's a +16 movie in my country. A 15-year-old got turned away right in front of me. How did the cinema even let those kids in? 😭

It was the subbed version though, maybe the dubbed one attracted some foolish children and parents

No. Sadly, a family of fat assholes brought their fat ass kids to the screening for me. And they talked during every good moment. i had half a mind to abort them myself.

I moved from F row to C row to get away from them.

I just got back from watching the subbed, and a group of teenagers behind us talked for most of the movie. People suck.

Minors can still get in if accompanied by a guardian, not sure if the rules are harder in Germany. Usually no one will say a thing if a kid goes with his parents.

Casual movie-goers don't care about such things. A lot of people who haven't watched previous Avatar movies will still watch Fire and Ash cuz why not.

Yeah many parents did bring their children in the theatres, but no one left. Instead and unfortunately, many of their children did something that almost ruined my theatre experience. Most of the kids that were brought by their parents, who expected the film to be like a cartoon, were not older than 6-8 years. I don't think the kids were understanding the movie cause it was in Japanese with English sub, so those mischievous idiots made the theatre hall their playground. They started shouting, laughing and even playing tag at the back of the hall, and their parents did nothing in this matter. Everyone was getting disturbed and irritated, but no one stood to stop them (not even me lol). Fortunately, after quite a while, a an adult guy stood and scolded them enough, which made them quiet for long enough and my movie experience got saved.

In Brazil, the movie is strictly 18+, so there were no kids. There was even a mom who brought her 11 year old to the movie even though she wasn't allowed, and it was crazy, even cops were called

No, there wasn't any kids below 10year i believe. I watched it with my 12yr old sister....it was rated PG-13. So it was fine.

Surprisingly i'd say 60% of the people were like 25-30....and the rest were Highschool and Middle schools kids.
Parents usually drop them at the theatre hall and pick them up later.

Demon Slayers' big thing "parental rating" wise is large amounts of blood, gore and violence. Otherwise it doesn't really have that much "mature" content in it, and not a lot of cussing and such either. For kids at really young ages like 5 or so, it's definitely gonna creep them out and be a problem, I think anyone could guess that. But something like 11-12? I'd say not as much. Plus outside of obviously literal adult only content, the ratings on movies and shows are more so suggestions than rules, so nothing is stopping them from bringing a 5 year old there.

The issue is when a suggestion is made, whether or not to follow it is up to the parents, and often times PG-13 movies can be perfectly ok for a younger kid around even 10 or so DEPENDING on the exact kid and the exact movie being watched.

Rules and laws are supposed to help manage and prevent things like crimes and "problems", you can't exactly just put laws into effect or make rules to fix stupidity, it's really not that easy. The best you can do is make suggestions, if a person is gonna choose to be stupid you can't make them not be stupid, only they can.
I like to watch some anime, I like to talk about some anime, I dislike wars over some anime, but more than anything I love to live my life, anime is an enjoyable and entertaining addition onto my life but it's not my whole life.

I honestly feel bad for the kids who's idiot parents dragged them out of the theater 😳 Demon Slayer may not be specifically for kids, but many kids are familier with it and love the series hence are probably the one's who asked their parents to bring them to see it in theaters, parents who idiotically have no idea what there kids are watching, let alone what their kid's interest are, and even more idiotically get scandalized by a bit of blood

Now this of course may not apply to all, but i can speak from personal experience, those parents who are scandalised by their kids watching things like Demon Slayer because "it's too violent", are probably treating their kids worse than how Muzan treats the 12 moons

Some parents don’t realize the difference between cartoons and anime. They might not even be aware of it. So when kids ask their parents to take them to the theater. Middle of the show, they want to go home. It’s likely because children are always changing their minds.

There was only 6 other people in the theater and it was quiet the whole time, one of them being a kid.

Demon Slayer is appropriate to show to a child though; it's Demon Slayer, not Ninja Scroll.

The website for Demon Slayer of my local cinema has a warning message which reads something like "The movie is rated 16 and up. This rating is absolute" so being accompanied by an adult will not get you in
