I spent many years in compulsory school, if that qualifies as prison.

My Mom temporarily was placed in a cell by the Welsh police in a set up. But one of the officers recognised her from being on TV at the time and they realised they were being set up, so they let her go, dropping the charges they had on her (she supposedly was going to be in court the very next day on them) they destroyed the audio recording she had of the Dr's appointment that they dragged her from and broke her wrist in the process. That's Wales for you...

My brother-in-law I think spent a night in a cell being over the alcohol limit. He's lost his driving license twice now because of drinking too much :/

My uncle was in jail for a time on petty theft and my cousin was done for drugs smuggling also.

Yea one of my childhood friends I use to play soccer was sentenced to six years in prison in 2022 for running a multi-million dollar luxury car scam. She sold high-end vehicles like Ferraris and Bentleys through a pyramid scheme, where multiple buyers were promised the same car and never received them. She served three years before being paroled in 2025

Me - no. Not only that I am a rare breed whom hasn't received a single money fine from police, despite being legitimated and checked in additional details almost everytime I am at airport/other places, maybe I just look too suspicious as that's really funny that it always keeps happening to me. Once I was even checked by a cop when I was in a queue to get train ticket from a ticketmachine.
Someone really close to me - no.

Someone I knew in the past when we both were kids - yes. [from rumours - art. 200 - pedophilia - unknown length, probably several up to 25 years or maybe even life sentence]
Someone I knew for a long time - yes. [Drugs activity + hooligan activity - I know about 1 sentence, but heard rumours that he got jailed 2nd time - unknown length, probably more than 1 year]
Someone whom is a long time buddy of my friend - yes. [Hooligan activity + covid mass gathering + avoidance of social works - from what I know the avoidance wasn't intentional by that person but because of lack of profesionalism of the employer, whom literally by his bad decisions put that person into jail for few months, as for first 2 reasons he didn't go to jail but got social works - in Poland for Hooligan Activity in almost all times you don't receive jail sentences, mainly fines or social works, unless you take someone's life]
I have met in my life quite a bit of people whom finished their sentence.

Outside these 3 cases I don't recall knowing about anyone else being jailed.

Most laws are created for the benefits of the elites, rather than for the benefits of the masses. And the police and governments routinely break laws to "enforce" the law. Most laws benefit the elites even if they harm the masses. The elites and governments are the biggest criminals. They break the law, without ever worrying about jail. Only commoners ever go to jail for breaking the law. Keep that in mind.

@Zarutaku Animals doing their best to survive can be seen as cruel to some, sure. But I didn't mention cruelty but evilness, which is pretty related to morality. Can animals be immoral? Maybe, who knows. I'm not going to debate that or look too much into it. But I'm pretty sure they can't be more immoral than humans.

@Zarutaku Infanticide in the animal kingdom is a reproductive strategy to get the female back in heat. It isn't pure evil killing just for the sake of it. It's driven by instinct, not malice.

@Zarutaku So long as we are talking about animals and not humans, it probably isn't. As I stated above, I don't want to start a debate on whether or not animals can be immoral or not, but chances are still that they have little to no moral awareness. Feel free to apply human moral standards to animals if you so terribly want them to be evil, but humans are still the worst by far to me.

@Zarutaku If animals have no moral understanding of what is good or evil, then whatever rules of behavior they may have can't be seen as a form of morality.

@Zarutaku They probably have a vague and superficial understanding of them, limited to knowing that going against them means going against social cohesion. Which can be dangerous since in most social species, becoming a social outcast most often equals death (which eliminates any chance of reproducing).
