'Mashin Souzouden Wataru' Reveals Production Staff, Main Cast, First Promo, Winter 2025 Premiere

The official website for the Mashin Souzouden Wataru original television anime series revealed the production staff, main cast, new visual (pictured), and a promotional video on Thursday. The anime is scheduled to premiere in January 2025 TV Tokyo's six stations.

The 45-episode first season produced by animation studio Sunrise aired from April 1988 to March 1989. The second season aired in 46 episodes from March 1990 to March 1991, and a 51-episode remake ran from October 1997 to September 1998.

A nine-episode original net anime streamed on Bandai Spirits' official YouTube channel between April and November 2020. A compilation movie of the net anime subtitled Saikai screened in Japan in January 2022.

@deg well they got acquired by Bandai but they didn't change their name, the Sunrise team still makes anime with the Sunrise name like all the recent Gundam, Love Live, and Code Geass anime. They rarely use them for anything else tho these days.

Sunrise got acquired by Bandai in the 90s, Victory Gundam was already made under Bandai ownership.

Sunrise's official name is Bandai Namco Filmworks now, but they still use Sunrise as a brand name for their projects, kinda like how Type Moon is a brand name and the company is actually named Notes.
