when I first watched Bakemonogatari, I thought Senjougahara and Araragi were like a match made in heaven and I assumed the romance between the two would give diabetes to me. I thought it was a very feel-good and wholesome romance. Man, I was wrong.

In Nisemonogatari, Araragi borderline cheats on Senjogahara several times due to his pedo instincts. Even some interactions between Senjougahara and Hanekawa could almost be considered 'Yuri'. Here, you have a couple both parties are kind of mutually cheating on each other. Here's the deal, the moment I mention that Senjougahara had possibly romantic feelings for Kaiki in the past just for fun, the fans express immense discomfort towards the idea that Senjougahara was involved with any dudes other than Araragi.

People call it 'NTR bait' and 'Hitagi is bitch' when I mentioned it. I'm just asking my Senjougahara fans, a little question. Why don't you feel discomfort when Senjougahara had 'Yuri interactions' with Hanekawa while she was in relationship with Araragi? Why do you specifically hate when Hitagi tries flirt with Kaiki? You make dumb accusations of those interactions being "NTR"

it's just when you compare the LNs with the anime you realise there's an obvious exaggeration in the anime (which Nisio even sometimes makes us remind in the books)

The 'yuri interactions' actually made me the most uncomfortable while I was watching, not because it was Yuri but because it was those two characters, because I'm fine with actual yuri shows. I think the only reason I kind of got over it is because I read that this story is all being told from Koyomi's perspective as if looking back so everything gets embellished a lot. I assume he heard 'sleepover' and then made everything else up.

That's not true for 2nd Season.

Tsubasa Tiger is told from Hanekawa's perspective.
Nadeko Medusa is told from Sengoku's perspective.
Hitagi End is told from Kaiki's perspective.
Tsuruga Devil is told from Kanbaru's perspective.

This series is easily in my top three favorites. It’s not perfect but it’s damn close and it can be interpreted in many ways. I didn’t get any of those vibes that anyone here has brought up but that could just be me and no I didn’t get any pedophile vibes from the show either at the same time do not water down that word save it for actual pedophiles seriously

I've read the LNs and it's highly implied that Hitagi and Kaiki possibly had something going on back when Kaiki swindled Hitagi

It's also the reason Kaiki was finding an excuse to help Hitagi in Koimonogatari

Kaiki is in his 30's and Hitagi was a middle schooler. There wasn't anything more to their relationship than a one sided crush that faded away into feeling betrayed when he swindled her family. Hitagi struggles with having liked him and maybe still feeling some sense of attachment and resenting him for being an awful person. Kaili himself is multifaceted in that he both makes a profit off of her suffering but also ruins the cult that 'stole away' her mother. This can be interpreted as him pushing her away and telling her not to fall for people like him while also helping her in a very round about way.

People clearly don't like the idea of Hitagi and Kaili having any romantic implications because he is old enough to be her father and she was 12ish when they met.

Hitagi's relationships with Araragi and Hanekawa are both different and have different contextual meaning. Hitagi herself has mentioned that she knows Araragi isn't serious when he flirts around with other women and even if he were to cross a line with them, something he never does, she wouldn't care because she knows he loves her above them. If that ever did change she would kill him.

The Yuri bait shower scene was more like intimate bonding between two people and reconciliation of friendship despite their conflicting interests in wanting to date Araragi.

Keep in mind these events tend to be exaggerated from each person's perspective for the sake of the shows visuals and fanservice definitely plays a large role in the series.

I guess another answer to your question is that it isn't a Yuri bathing scene, it's just two friends showering together and having fun. nothing romantic or NTRy is happening. Similarly, Araragi isn't cucking Gahara when he brushes his sister's teeth in any meaningful way.

TLDR; Kaiki is like 30 something and Hitagi is in middle school when they meet so that's gross and weird. It's a one sided crush that faded into resentment. Araragi and Hitagi love each other and their forays with other people are exaggerated and not entirely truthful and, even if they were, they would not matter because they both recognize each other as serious about the relationship. If that ever changed then Hitagi would find a way to Kill RRagi as she has threatened.
