Well actually I haven't read Chainsaw Man and am waiting for the anime. But I have read Fujimoto's other works, them being Fire Punch, Look Back and Goodbye Eri. Look Back and Goodbye Eri, both one shots, were fantastic and made me cry at the end.
Fire Punch I actually have yet to finish, but am a little over halfway through. Fire Punch is great so far, it has managed to get some tears out of me a and I really enjoy the writing.
Before I wasn't expecting much out of Chainsaw Man because all the insufferable fans turned me off of it, but after reading Funimoto's other works I do now have high-ish expectations for Chainsaw Man.

Although I am a big chainsaw man i believe Goodbye, Eri is his best work. Look back is great too. His older one shots are more simple and shorter but quite interesting, i don't necessarily recommend them but if you are a fan of the newer stuff and want to read more then sure, go ahead

I might be only 15 chapters deep but some things in fire punch is very unexpected ,deep and kinda depressing, so recommended the read is really good so far

idk if you read fire punch already, so its like.. it's a thing for sure, kinda weird though sometimes. but I found it pretty entertaining and some things were really interesting so like 8.5/10

Fire punch is split up into 3 arcs, the prologue, the interlude and the climax.

The prologue is extremely good definitely the best part of the series. Would be in my top 15 if it was it’s own series. 9/10

The interlude is a bit slower but still very good cover’s some of the inner thoughts of the characters. The last few chapters of it are not the best though. 7/10

The climax is the weakest part of the series. The character motivation start to become less clear and the series looses its certain edge it had at the start. The art goes crazy though. 6/10

Over all it’s 7/10 for me. Was an 8 but then I reread it and it went down.

You should check out the one shots by fugimoto:

Look back. 7/10

Goodbye eri. 9/10. The best work by fujimoto imo.

Just listen to the song. 6/10. The weakest work by fugimoto but thats really only because it is so short.

Look back and goodbye eri are incredible and they are one shots. Unlike fire punch and csm the topics are more realistic and some readers may relate to them.i highly recommend checking them out

I actually never read any of Fujimoto's other works but I have heard a lot about them and how they show what an amazing writer he is. Perhaps I can give these titles a try, someday.

I feel like Fire Punch is more messy and all over the place than Chainsaw Man but I still like it a lot. Everything Fujimoto writes is at least entertaining imo

I think Fire Punch is better/more interesting than Chainsaw Man, but that’s also up to personal tastes and preferences. Eri is definitely his best work overall though.

I just read CSM. Fire Punch doesn’t seem like it would be for me and I’m not sure if I’d want to read Goodbye Eri because I don’t want to cry, lol. I wonder if Fujimoto will ever create a less depressing series because you need a change here and there

Both Look Back and Sayonara Eri are good. Chainsaw Man is good, of course not the masterpiece everyone talks about. I still have to read Fire Punch. Also Futsu ni Kiite Kure is nice

I’d say Chainsaw Man is his weakest work (not bad, but not better than the others)
Look Back is the best and Just Listen To The Song is criminally overlooked and hated too much cause it was too short and wasn’t drawn by him (but those people are all dumb)

I have read both Look Back and GoodBye, Eri apart from Chainsaw Man and I absolutely adore both of them. Fujimoto is one of the best writers working in the manga industry right now. I have been wanting to read Fire Punch for quite a while now but am just not getting enough free time to do read it. Hopefully I will manage to read it soon enough.
