i absolutely love Vanitas no Carte and Jun Mochizuki. Pandora hearts and Vanitas for me are second to beserk but i feel that this season is adapting the manga way too quickly its already on chapter 40 at chapter 5. I get that it wants to get to the climax of the arc as quickly as possible but its nearly adapted the same amount s1 did in its entire run time which to me has left some important character dialog and development and has felt a bit jarring watching the anime and comparing it to the manga at the same time. Thats my opinion atleast, would love to hear what other people think whist waiting for the next chapter or episode.

I’m enjoying the pace just fine, btw I do not read the manga and Vanitas has been by far my favourite show this season and will probably be a AOTY contestant.

I wouldnt jump to this conclusion that quickly. You see the chapters got shorter later on(28 pages typically) Season 1 chapters were around 40 pages long. Also they have rearranged alot of stuff. so you cant really say they have adapted til chapter 39(not 40 by the way)
So yeah alot of important cut content will reapper later on. The pace is fine for the most part as well.

I like the anime on its own, but the manga is much more nuanced. In general, the arch is too rushed, the disclosure of secrets is crumpled - half a chapter about the Church and its crimes in Zhevodaun fit in 30 seconds, the nuances of Chloe's life, how she lived with her family, and then she was left completely alone; the nuances of revealing the world - information about another world and its origin, relationship nuances of the main characters: their care for each other is severely cut off, although the main points are preserved, and therefore their relationship looks drier, and much more, listed as an example, was cut off due to the too fast pace of the second part. Overall, I enjoy the adaptation, but for a complete immersion in the story, imho it's better to read the manga. (Manga is corny more beautifully drawn, plus)

I read the manga and completely agree, this arc should've been a whole season but they went through it at break neck pace. Plus the chibi art is still undermining every serious moment in the show. They really did this manga a disservice adapting it like this
