Do any female anime viewers like ecchi and/or harem anime?

Ecchi, and even more so harem, seem very male-oriented and thus rather awkward for women to watch. I suppose I could see some lesbian and bisexual women liking ecchi, but it is harder for me to see them liking harem. Harem is basically a self-insert fantasy for guys and thus it seems like a lot of women would feel pretty "out of place" watching it. My assumptions may be wrong though, and I would be interested in hearing if any female viewers do, in fact, like these genres.

If there's something I could like about them, why not, but most times I dislike ecchi series because they are rather juvenile with their sexual jokes and presentation.

Harem... depends. I could see myself watching / continuing The Quintessential Quintuplets and Amagami one day or a few other series, if I'm in the right mood, but I think most are pretty average to shitty in general.

I mean, I'm a lesbian, but I don't see a reason why this should influence my choices in anime.
I can root for gay and straight shippings / couples too, if they make sense and I really like them being together.

There are a few ecchi titles I've enjoyed, but I can't get into harems for precisely the reason you stated, although I do have some nostalgia for Tenchi Muyo.

That's just me though, other people are bound to feel differently. I mean the harem genre was technically invented by women.... Twice. (Rumiko Takahashi, and if you want to go wayyy back, Lady Murasaki Shikibu).

I wouldn't rule out a show just because it is a harem or ecchi, but every show I've tried to watch in those genres just feels so juvenile when it comes to the characters or plot that I don't think I've ever finished one. Regardless of what genre the anime is, when fan service takes center stage and pushes everything else to the margins I'm just not that entertained.

female audience speaking.

personally i do not mind ecchi and harem. if anything, it doesn't affect how much i want to watch a show/whether or not i want to watch a show. i have enjoyed shows like high school dxd, go-toubun no hanayome, shokugeki no souma, no game no life, ouran koukou host club etc.

and there are harem/ecchi shows that i'm planning to watch too, like mushoku tensei, nisekoi, kill la kill and so on.

what can i say, embrace culture.
no more forum pic. that's it.

There're definitely female viewers who like those two genres. As for me, those two are my least favorite genres but I'll still give them a shot if I find the plot interesting. Same for any other genres I dislike. I enjoyed Shokugeki no Souma and The World God Only Knows, since the storylines were good and the characters were likeable. As long as a show fills up those two criteria for me, I don't really mind the genre of a show. But yeah, even from male viewers I find the general consensus is that harem and ecchi shows are usually pretty shitty. I'd say the same for reverse harems, even though they're targeted towards females.

Ecchi no because they tend to be over the top and annoying and as for harem... I like reverse harem, if that counts... if not, then I tolerate harem, but most of the time they're run of the mill using the same damn tropes, and it gets irritating.

Ecchi is a huge no for me, in most cases I see the ecchi tag and don't even bother giving it a try. I'm kinda fine with harem though, I enjoyed Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches and 5-toubun no Hanayome despite not liking it initially (my only complain with that was unnecessarily huge boobs). Would have enjoyed Nisekoi better if the main focus would have been Raku x Onodera.

I like ecchi anime. Harem anime... I have mixed feelings. I don't dislike ALL harem anime, but a lot of them tend to have poor writing or just... godawful protagonists. Also, I don't really like being baited with romance. Any harem anime where MC actually chooses a girl in the end or gets to have sex for real automatically earns my respect.

I really don't mind the dynamic of one guy surrounded by a lot of cute girls, though. I am team cute girls. My feelings just become more complicated when romance is involved, I guess.
