Steins;Gate 0's ending isn't the issue really, it's the anime which is a HUGE downgrade in every aspect and is a lot slower, the story doesn't go anywhere and actually starts going somewhere in the last few episodes, this isn't the only issue, Steins;Gate 0 has a lot of issues that I can point out but it will have spoilers. Personally, I didn't like it, it was garbage. I did liked around 5 episodes though and I'm not a hater hating on Steins;Gate 0 for no reason, I'm actually a fan of Steins;Gate and I believe Steins;Gate is the best anime in the freaking world but Steins;Gate 0 was simply garbage.

That being said, just because I didn't like it doesn't mean that you won't like it either, who knows maybe you will enjoy it more than I did.

Steins;Gate 0’s ending wasn’t bad by any means. It’s just a cliffhanger. Also the entire season gets too much hate for no reason. Ppl like to trash on it just because it wasn’t as good as the main season. Overall for me 0 is an 8 or a 9 out of 10 season. Either way, even if you don’t like it after you watch it, as a fan of both seasons I’d say there’s no point in watching only the first season, you need to experience both.

It doesnt have a bad ending, in fact its story and ending gives the original SG a sense of completion. Also, it makes you appreciate Okabe as a character more. However, dont go into SG0 expecting it to be as good as the original, you'll only be disappointed.

I watched it a long time ago so I cant say about the themes or symbolisms or any of the trivial stuff. All I can say that imo it was alot more boring compared to regular Steins Gate

The ending is the best part of SG0. The last 3 episodes are IMO better than almost every SG episode, and it also makes some SG episodes better (SG's end is x10 better after watching 0)

Its not as good as the original but its make the original more better since it shows what happened between ep22 and ep23,if you have time then definitely watch it.
Also don't forgot to watch ep23beta before watching S;G 0 it provide an alternative ending for ep23.

honestly just dont. i dropped it halfway because the plot wasn’t interesting.. it felt like a drama version of the original rather than the thriller it was. also the fanservice was weird

The people who are saying that 0 doesn't have a satisfying ending just don't understand what is S;G0 about. It is a spin off about the Okabe who sent the Operation Skuld D-Mail. The ending of Steins;Gate as a whole is still the ending of the original.

There is no cliffhanger at all at the end of S;G0, idk what are you talking about

S;G0 I feel is worth the watch if you loved the original and the characters. S;G0 is not as good as the original and honestly there are a lot of things I didn't like about it but there were a lot of things I really loved. I won't go into details for spoiler reasons but it is definitely a downgrade from the original.

I think the problem with 0 is that people expected the same sci-fi thriller like the original, but it came out to be like a slice of life + phychological with some sci-fi & even fantasy. There was barely any thriller moments in the anime. Also the mysterious atmosphere that was created in the beginning of S;G was missing. It surely is a downgrade from the original but it's story imo, is just as good as the original. You need to know what happened in 0 to complete the story of Steins;Gate. You should watch 0, but keeping your expectations low. Don't expect the same thriller like the original was. It's very different. If you liked the original ending, then it's ending is absolutely satisfying.

if you’re really into steins;gate as a whole and want to venture more into the series, then I’d say go for it. just a warning though that it is definitely a huge downgrade from the first season, because in my opinion the first season was near perfect and they just made it fall off so hard with steins gate 0, but again there are a lot of mixed opinions about it and the ending was probably one of my favorite parts about it, idk why people hate on it

0 isn’t as good but in my opinion it’s high points are almost better than the high points of the first. It’s definitely not paced as well as the first is what I would say.

Funny reading the above comments, some saying the whole show was garbage, the ending was the best part, or that it’s decent as a whole. With such a varied reception it’s hard to tell where you’d fall, love or hate. Coming from someone who does believes it’s a step down from SG, I’d still recommend watching it if you have the time. There are definitely some emotional moments that reach close to the same heights of SG, and the new main character is actually a decent addition to the series. It’s not going to feel as slow as SG in the beginning, because your not being introduced to a brand new world. I’m definitely not a big fan of the ending though, especially in comparison to SG. Felt convoluted and frustrating rather than conclusive. Still I’d give it a try,, even if you find a similar reaction, it still has value.

I think you should still watch it even tho it's definitely a major downgrade from Steins:Gate without Kurisu

Watch it. It’s not meant to be a sequel but to build on the original show though not as good as the original it’s still good

Alright all these comments calling the ending a cliffhanger and the series garbage are dumb, I won’t spoil how it ends but I would watch 0 to complete the steins gate experience I just don’t think people realise how genius the ending really is

Yes! 100 % I must watch if you love steins gate. I watched Steins gate Eps 1-22 Episode 23B steins gate zero and then finished Eps 23 and 24 for steins gate and it was a great experience.

I fucking hated S;G 0 as well, those ridiculous changes in main characters and that slow pacement was boring as hell, the only thing I liked and maybe was better than og S;G was the finale, but the rest? Fucking garbage

The ending itself isn't bad.. its the execution of everything else from plot points being left unanswered, pacing issues, new characters not having much depth and the visual direction/animation in general isn't as good.

I'd say the first 8 episodes are quite strong.. but the moment they started merging and cutting off routes.. it started to drag and go nowhere for quite awhile. It doesn't pick back up til the last few episodes.

As an anime.. its still quite a decent watch. Its not trash by any means. Its just as a product of Steins Gate, coming off the love of the original.. it didn't meet expectations. But still see it for yourself. I did still enjoy it 💯

You can skip steins;gate 0 because it is not being well made as the first season. This is boring till the 17 th EP then it is good. And the ending is not good.

Yeah I didn't like Okabe and Mayuri personality change either, Okabe was fucking boring for like 90% of the whole anime and he didn't do anything to move the story forward and only started doing something in episode 19 and Mayuri was kind of mature and I didn't like that either, I enjoy Mayuri a lot more when she's a cute "airhead", she was simply way too different in Steins;Gate 0 and I didn't enjoy it one bit.

Daru was ok I guess though.

I’m personally holding out to watch it until I have nothing to watch. Steins;Gate’s ending and story felt whole and nothing seemed missing.
