| Fantastic episode! Popp eggs are bigger than the one that Galdandi probably was born xD. The new opening and ending are so cool! I like very much Maam design, I see it more realistic, like Tifa in FFVIIR. Like I said before I think, if you are a female fighter you don't go there showing the panties to all people and making then horny xD. Very happy with all. |

| Welcome to the PC age lol after seeing the heavy censorship and how they cut out anything remotely ecchi in this show I sorta expected that Maam will receive the same treatment, disappointed to see that I was right on the money :( That ED is giving out spoilers like candies.... notably Hyunckel armor, Maam new outfit and Dai sword. That's not how you build up hype for the next ep smh |

Adaptation doesn't mean to simply transpose the manga into animated form. Adaptation means it will also be "reshaped" to the target-era standards. Let's say the manga (a 1990 Dragon quest shonen manga) is a square and a 2021 morning-aired shonen anime is a circle. Then the adaptation can't force a square in a circle-shaped hole. You have to reshape it. That's what happens. an that's what adapting a manga into an anime means. For some people that's sad. I can get that. At a personal level I don't care anymore. Even if DnD is one of my favorite manga, I don't mind. As long as the fundamental message isn't modified. I don't care if a flazzard middle finger is skipped or if I can't see Maam legs. But the more you wait between a manga and its adaptation in anime, the more differences will happen. Because the world and customs/traditions/mentalities are constantly evolving. |
| Good new visuals on the OP and the new ED is really good. Sad to see Dai getting jailed like that but it's necessary. Don't know what Popp hoped to acomplish but I admire his bravery. So far his development has been one of my favorite aspects of the show. Guessed Hyunckel would come to his rescue, he arrived in time. Can't wait to see the upcoming fight. |
| I'm not sure i'm totally mistaken and you are totally right :p i'm asking myself if we dont agree together in fact ... Adaptation "is not just" about modernisation to the morale and mentalities of an era. It's mainly artistic choices : how to animate this scene, what could we add, what design for our character, which aethetic choices to make this scene badass, How to storytell differently, which music, when ? Could we emphazise this character here. the pace of episodes etc. (Saint Seiya is a very good adaptation of the manga, in the aesthetics ways. It sublimates the manga support with design from Shingo Araki and musics. There are also problems, right ? But i won't discuss it here) For exemple the serie Lupin on netflix takes place nowadays and the main protagonist is a black man. the serie talks about racism. It's ok, why not ? You are right. We must live with our time. But, The serie Saint Seiya on Netflix is also an adaptation. They add new characters, new scenes But they betrayed the manga. It's ugly as fuck, it looks like Gi joe with tanks... Shun is a girl in this adaptation to please our modern progressism. But this modern sociéty choice is a nonsense because Shun in the original manga is a sweet and sensible guy who has a deep relationship with his brother. i would say saint seiya anim and manga in 80's was more progressist than in this adaptation. A lot of gay people like to see shun has an icon to make the mentality change. and we agree, in this example, the most important is that the fondamental message isn't modified and they shit on it. More than the message the emotion and ambiance is lacking too. For Dai no Daibouken the main problem is the hour when it is aired (children's time) and the fear of stormshit from Toei because square enix and them want to export Dai worldwide. It hurts a bit. But i'm ok with the blood of monster being green / Crocodine being blind not clearly shown, no panties everywhere, Matorif's scenes cut. Most of the time, i clapped them, They tried to censor them but to keep the spirit with elegance. A good example is when Hyunckel slapt Maam : They keep it! Not shown, just the sound but they keep it. I know a lot of people will say it's not an important scene and you can't hit a woman. But for me, i don't care about the morale. For me this scene is important to Hyunckel character. He slapt her because she is right !! And in deep of his heart he knows he's wrong. It's also an important scene because Bartos told him not hiting girls. like you said it's fondamental message of the manga vs our new morale standard in 2020. Adaptation here forces the creators to make a choice. there was already a debate in the 90's about japanese anime and blood. But most of the time, blood in a japanese anime is a symbol there's always a true and wise message behind it or a dramatic process. i prefer to talk about the aesthetic choices of this adaptation rather than "morale" choices, example : the fight on Varge island play a lot with the weather. The night : Danger of dark army The morning sun : Hope, Crocodine saves the days. Dai cut his eyes during a sun light. Crocodine appears with this sun behind him The fight vs Flazzard : its the day then colours became pastel giving a weird ambiance Saving leona : End of the day, night soon, we have to hurry. good adaptation is for me the episode in the market in Bengarna. A lot of references to dragonquest !!!!! costumes, gold coins, slime bubble tea. It's really good ! Bad adaptation is when you cut the manga without real artistic choices and justification. Artistics choices can be personal and we can discuss it for my part i would have kept, even if you think they are useless : The rock bombs in Valge. Popp visiting Matorif for help. Galdandy destruction Some scenes with Maam rekcless about her clothe and nudity (it's a part of her, and we will loose good scenes later with Merle) Bad adaptation is when you are lazy as fuck and rush your story... Hello Promised neverland season II !!!!! WTF ! So in conclusion, i have never said Dai no Daibouken is a bad adaptation, oh , no ! i never said that, i like it ! But i like to discuss their choices and there a lot to say ! Positives or negatives ! We could all discuss together about it ! that's the reason why this forum exists no ? And talk about the main material of course ! |

I'm a Shaman King fan and the word around town says it's another reboot to be butchered/rushed. From recent sources SK will have 52 episodes for a 32 volume manga. While Dai will have close to 100 episodes for more or less the same amount of volumes. You guys are lucky. You can watch DQ relaxed because the pace is the same of the manga, is a very good pace and without any filler. |

| i was disappointed that they didn't show crocodine in the new ED i get it , they want to focus more on Avan's students and i have no problem with this but why Leona ?? the princess is not one of them , she doesn't even have Avan's Mark and yet she appeared (almost 20 seconds) in the new ED i think crocodine and merle deserve to be there too both of them are main characters just like leona |

| Popp being badass. I like it. Hes been building up to it for so long I just wish he hadnt gone full tsundere in an effort to protect his friends. Luckily Hyunckel, or unluckily from Popps point of view is still in the game! Next episode please! |
