But honestly im more hyped for that shit ( i forgot it's name ) when MC has a harem, and he's like a devil. Just remembered, it's called trinity seven. How much volumes will this shit adapt ? |

The Author once tweeted he wanted to adapt as much as he could so he has been trying very hard to convince his publishers (they are the ones in control) to make more. Hell one of the reasons he switched studios in the first place was due to how poor they adated the last volumes( i heard he gave quite an earful to those who agree to do it like that) |

Well skipping is pretty much gonna leave you in the dust at this point because this is the part where DxD hits its stride, and everything leads into each other, like a shounen manga. |

Yeah it's Ophis, i really wanted to see her, cause they literally bring her in last couple episodes of s3 for like 30 seconds while there is some big ass dragon that move through space gap. I got hyped, just imagine her power as dragon god... It would be a big let down if there wasn't at least some fight scenes with her... yeah, i was a bit harsh about skiping s4, but still... |

Great Red sort of does in the climax of S5, but those two are Dragon Ball tier characters, so the author is extremely reserved about using them for fights. Even here in volume 25, they haven't been power crept at all yet, nor has anyone beaten them. |

DxD's LNs have had 2 streaks of amazing novels, that being volumes 9-12, and 20-25. This and the next season cover 9-12, but the animation has to be able to keep up, or it will be a blunder. If it can keep up, it's the moments when DxD transcends being a battle harem. |

Volume 10 is one of my favourite, so I have great expectations for season 4. But, I can't understand the meaning of ending the novels in the middle of the current arc, only to continue with a new name...it only confuses people. |

I can explain this as LN reader Now we on volume 25 when everything has been wrapped out for this arc climax... I will explain some spoiler so beware non-LN readers So the next volume will tell the rest of Azazel cup (a Rating Game World Tournament which all people from any mythologies can participated on it without any restriction), and preparation for upcoming UL invasion. UL is creatures from other world, which ChiChigami came from (Read volume 7 for more info about him). Why DxD will separate their new volume from on with new title instead continuing the volume count? Its because next volume will tell about conflict with other world, while the older volume's event only occur and affect their own world... Thats what Ishibumi say on afterword volume 25... For making it simple, its like this arc is separated by 2 cour.. |

The afterword confirms that a sequel titled Shin High School DxD will begin next. holy shit, thanks for telling that, i'm " kinda " hyped for s4 cause i remember watching dxd a few years ago, and s2 was airing at that moment. Hell one of the reasons he switched studios in the first place was due to how poor they adated the last volumes( i heard he gave quite an earful to those who agree to do it like that) I always liked the author's way of doing things, having all the volumes adapted in anime is nice bonus as a fan of the source. Lets hope with the next season it will get back on track, since before that the studios were doing quite a good job with vol 3-4. |

Jdogla said: Hi I can't read Japanese and my translation site is only up to volume 24 life.1 can you tell me how it ends? Please and thank you. It's a long volume so I'm gonna copy and paste some spoilers: Roygun joins Issei's team as a Rook. Diehauser and Indra are undefeated in the tournament so far. In particular, Diehauser had defeated nothing but God-class teams. Ajuka and Tobio in the prologue confirm that "XxX" (Cross Times Kiss) has begun moving, and that they have caused some issues for many factions around the world. Issei and Rossweisse do get engaged by the end of the volume. Vidar convinces Midgardsormr to join Typhon's team. Hades' two artificially created super devils and their ultimate class siblings enter the tournament under the name Team Black Satan of Darkness Dragon King, and their King is a Grim Reaper named Zeno. Indra "trains" Issei by poisoning him with water from the Sea of Milk. Issei nearly dies from the poison, as it's the devil equivalent of Samael's blood. He has a vision after drinking it, where he meets the Chichigami from the world ExE. She tells him that in the near future a problematic force will make their move (the UL and Melvazoa from EX), and that Issei needs to gather the 12 Heavenly Breasts, and that he has 7 so far. Issei wakes up and Cao Cao/Indra confirm with Ddraig that something changed with the Boosted Gear after the poison. Indra walks away with a dangerous smile, while muttering that he needs Issei to skip some stages for what's about to come. Team Issei vs Team Typhon takes place in Valhalla in the Thor Stadium, and the event is Yggdrasil climb. Typhon is stated to be stronger than Fenrir, and is the King of Monsters, but is nothing but a mindless berserker once he gets going. Vidar, Odin's son, faked trying to get engaged with Rossweisse so her and Issei would get together, since she was too shy even with him being engaged to 6 or 7 girls. The two artificial super devils Balberith and Verrine wonder who their father is supposed to be if the original Lilith is their mother. Interesting tidbit, but Hades has Lilith stored in the exact same place that Azazel stored Kokabiel. Their other siblings in the team are Gressil and Sonneillon. Balberith and Verrine say that they want to fight someone like Ophis and Shiva. Ouryuu Nakiri is mentioned to have a grudge against a certain someone named Mitsuya. In the rating game, the three big fights for most of it are Issei vs Vidar, Xenovia vs Apollo, and Rossweisse vs Brunhild. Brunhild is the strongest valkyrie currently, and that she isn't the original, but the name itself is passed down to the strongest one in each period. There's also 3 other Valkyries as Typhon's pawns, one of which has the same name as Rossweisse's daughter from EX. When Issei uses DxD mode against Vidar, he notices his countdown has increased all the way to 88 (but notice that 88 is two infinity signs sideways) Xenovia using Excalibur's sheath lets her withstand Apollo's ridiculously strong attacks, who is able to one shot ultimate class devils. Apollo traps her in a pillar of light and goes to help Vidar fight Issei, while taking out Irina as well. Typhon begins rampaging and almost instantly defeats Roygun, Elmenhilde, and Bova. Issei ends up refusing to rely on Ravel's strategy, and says he has to learn on his own. Vidar had a chance to win the rating game by having a clear shot to the top of Yggdrasil, but refused to do so for extra points, since the crowd wants to see fights. He equips his boots, and reaches the same level as Thor with Mjolnir, as in top 10 tier. Rossweisse defeats Brunhild by using her sealed barriers technique Issei's countdown hits 80 and has a liberation effect, just like it did when evolving earlier in the series. (Notice that 80 is infinity and zero, just like his life force, just like Ophis and Great Red). When it hits 80, a giant dragon materializes behind him, and the crowd gasps and the older folk recognize it as Ddraig. Typhon goes nuts and attacks Ddraig in a frenzy, yelling that he was always upset that God and the Christian factions got the honor of fighting him in his prime. Ddraig uses penetrate and instantly KOs Apollo Vidar tells Midgardsormr that it's time to fulfill their contract, just like Fafnir did with Azazel. He uses an artificial sacred gear to absorb Midgard, and equip him as an armor. He explains that the Norse faction has been hard at work with their technological advancements thanks to the Grigori, and that this was the first big test. So Vidar was Thor tier, plus dragon king armor. One of the most destructive battles in the series happens between Ddraig and Typhon, destroying Yggdrasil over and over but Ajuka's bounded field kept instantly repairing it. The final battle was Issei vs Vidar, with the former taking out ascalon and throwing it right into Vidar's chest, since he accidentally gave himself a newfound weakness to dragon slayer swords. Ddraig runs out of time and uses his almighty flames to nearly kill Typhon, and while Vidar got distracted, Issei used an Ascalon II + Infinity Blaster + Longinus Smasher to defeat him. At the end of the game, Goro Hyoudou (his dad who now has a name) and Ophis/Lilith exit the stadium and find themselves surrounded by a group of young men and women, and someone with black hair who has two pocket terminals sticking out of his pockets. He explains that his name is Kanzaki Mitsuya, and that him and his faction XxX (Cross Times Kiss) will be protecting them since a certain faction in the world is planning something big. A minute later, two grim reapers attempt to assassinate Goro, Ophis kills one and the other is messed with by Kanzaki. He manipulates causality, and has the grim reaper kill himself. The two grim reapers had Samael's blood coated on their scythes. He did so by holding two of his pocket terminals, and shouting balance breaker. Kanzaki Mitsuya is of course not just using one, but two. Two Sacred Gears, two Longinus; Innovate Clear and Telos Karma. He mentions how his "rival" Ajuka truly is upset that his "game" is more popular, referencing to the phone game that Tiamat seemed to be playing a few volumes ago. And finally, that there isn't much longer before the Evil God King Melvazoa starts to make his move. In a short gag chapter, Balberith and Verrine watch all of Issei's rating games including his older ones, like the Riser and Sairaorg ones. Verrine says that everyone in the tournament is simply too weak for them, but Balberith has an intense look on his face as he watches Issei fight. He hears him screaming about breasts (chichi), and came to a realization that chichi is also the term used for father. And then the two strongest devils (less than 1 year old) come to a realization that Issei might be their father. There's three epilogue chapters. The first is in the Realm of Dead with Hades, and the "kings of hell" or primordial entities of the world, Tartarus, Nyx, Erebus, and a certain entity named Angra Mainyu. They discuss the problems with XxX, and also the consequences of Rizevim contacting the ExE world. Angra Mainyu snickers and apologizes for his creation Azi Dahaka, saying that he didn't really control him. The talks go on, but a key thing is that it seems Angra Mainyu is planning to backstab Hades. The next epilogue chapter is a report from Ajuka about the Longinus and the "next stage": True Longinus: Cao Cao Zenith Tempest: Dulio Gesualdo Dimension Lost: Georg Annihilation Maker: Leonardo Boosted Gear: Issei Hyoudou Divine Dividing: Vali Lucifer Regulus Nemea: Sairaorg Canis Lykaon: Tobio Ikuse Sephiroth Graal: Valerie Tepes Incinerate Anthem: Lint Sellzen Absolute Demise: Lavinia Reni Innovate Clear: Kanzaki Mitsuya Telos Karma: Kanzaki Mitsuya And that there are 5 new Longinus, at long last God's system has finally allowed more. Aeon Balor (new name for Gasper's): Gasper Vladi Alphecca Tyrant (the holy nail, mentioned in vol 16): Unknown Unknown Dictator: Wielder has joined Ruval Phoenix's team in the tournament And two final ones, have reached high tier alongside True Longinus and the other 3 top: Nereid Kyrie: Unknown Star Buster Blaster: Wielder is a King in one of the final standing teams of the tournament The chapter ends with Ajuka wondering if the system is prepared for what's coming. The true epilogue is a short scene with Issei and the other members of DxD celebrating, and that the finals of the tournament are approaching soon. The final 16 teams standing are: Team Red Dragon Emperor of the Blazing Truth (Issei) Team Rias Gremory (Rias) Team White Dragon Emperor of the Morning Star (Vali) Team Imperial Purpure (Sairaorg) Team Spear of Heavenly Emperor (Cao Cao) Team Slash/Dog (Tobio) Team Trump Card of Heaven (Dulio) Team Jest of the Kings (Typhon) Team Journey to the West (Sun Wukong) Team Black Satan of Darkness Dragon King (Zeno) Team Asura (Mahabali) Team Shooting Star (Star Buster Blaster wielder) Team Vajra (Indra) Team Babel Belial (Diehauser) Team Phoenix (Ruval) Team Black (Surtr) The afterword says that Shin High School DxD volume 1 will focus on team Rias and a conference (guessing this means tournament is set aside for a while for plot), and that it's a direct sequel to High School DxD. This was the "final arc" of High School DxD, but it's more like an epilogue/soft ending, since by this volume, Issei is engaged to the original cast of girls. Also, Kanzaki Mitsuya isn't a new character. Long ago, like 12 or 13 years ago, Ishibumi published his very first novel titled Denpachi, which was a horror novel. In it, the MC was named Kanzaki Mitsuya, so he decided to incorporate it into DxD, like he did with Tobio, and add him to the series. But it isn't quite the same as Tobio, who is the same character in both. He says you can consider "this" Kanzaki Mitsuya to be a parallel universe version. |

Is the translation improving? Honestly since Code-Zero/n0m@n step down on the translation I just cannot get into the new translation. I'm barely able to finish the fight with Rezevim. I really want to read this again but it's really hard to do so. |

The thing with Code-Zero is that he isn't quite as proficient at speaking English since he lives in Japan, so his prose is a bit more sloppy. But conversely, zx is a fluent English speaker translating from the Chinese novels. Have you tried reading the Dx volumes or Slashdog, which were translated by other people? |

@Jdogla Who say I'm not grateful? I am grateful even to a MTL ones. But wether I"m reading it or not is different story. I've made my point clear on what I dislike. I'm not hating for the sake of hate. Once again I say it's matter of style and personal preference. Feel free to disagree on my point. |
