Although the animation does raise concerns I think that as long as they stay true to the Light Novel then the animates series can go as far as the Light novel does.

Honesty I found In Another World With My Smartphone to be passable as something to pass time since the it's quite generic in the op character that can do anything but has little personality and no goals or drive.

Now, I'm not sure if In Another World With My Smartphone and Date Alive are selling better than High School DxD, but I can certainly say (based on several forums and the sells of the Light Novel) that High School DxD is very popular in Japan. I mean the series has over 25 novels, and to me that seems quite a lot.

Furthermore, we so far have four seasons and a couple of OVA of High School DxD compared to one season of In Another World With My Smartphone and two seasons and a movie (I believe) of Date Alive. And I don't know the sells of each previous DxD season, but if dvd and blu-ray sells were good then it must have warranted for another season.

And, if the sells of this fourth season turn out well, then we might see a fifth and sixth season. So, let's hope this fourth season turns out well and the dvd and blu-rays sells are good.
