Sometimes when I watch something that completely blows me out of the water I'm so focused on the show but don't realize my heart's going a million miles per hour and I'm sweating...? or after a show you experience the same thing? I hope I'm not alone here also when I search for a new anime I get anxiety weird right..? You're opinions? or experience...

I don't think I ever experienced this personally, but I sometimes get a little bit of anxiety when starting the first episode of something very popular or high rated, thinking I may not like it. that feeling doesn't even last till the second episode though.

Does this happen to you with action scenes where something big is on the line or something? that's just what comes to my mind

I became apathetic in anime as time had gone by... but I remember that feeling that I felt emotional/anxious watching SAO and Golden Time. I was just a beginner that time.

It normally happens when I'm watching fight scenes, kiss scenes, arguments going on or when I get goosebumps my heart goes a million miles per hour... Sometimes I don't even realize it until something kind of shocks me out of my trance and I have to pause my show for a sec to calm down.

Is it when you kind of feel awkward or is it just anxiety?
No it's definitely anxiety...It always happens when I get worked up. It's kind of annoying honestly I wish I could make it go away...It's kind of been hindering me.

Sure. It happened to me while watching Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica and Steins;Gate.
However, one time that I was really sweating and my heart was beating really fast was when watching the last 20 or so minutes of Rebellion.

Isn't that just being excited or getting hyped up about a certain or upcoming scene? happens to people alot, although making your heartbeat so fast is a little strange

Have you been attached to a certain anime?
Sometimes, trying something different from what you normally like makes you worry so it's natural for you to feel this way. I do sometimes.

Yeah a good example is earlier I finished Zetsuen no Tempest and I'm still kind of experiencing anxiety symptoms even thinking about some scenes gets me worked up..Sometimes I can't even sleep.

Yeah, you've been emotionally attached to Zetsuen no Tempest. I would suggest taking a small break from anime or you can just fight the anxiety.

Not really. Closest might be if a personal favorite character is in mortal peril or something, but it's rare.

You fight it by making yourself believe that not every anime is like Zetsuen no Tempest. There are some which are going to be good and bad. Who knows you might watch anime that's even better than Zetsuen no Tempest. Try watching a new anime and don't think much about Zetsuen no Tempest.

I don't think its anxiousness for me but Its more like feeling an emptiness after a great show, And I haven't felt that in a very awful long time.

Hm,

the only moment where I would maybe call it anxious was when I had watched Kara no Kyoukai 1st film.
I was hesitating to watch the 2nd film, because I was worried a series of films would not possibly be able to keep up at that level the 1st film offered.
(I insta-ADORED that 1st film)

Also sometimes I hesitate to watch the last episodes of an anime, because I do not want it to end yet - but I do not really feel anxiety when this happens.

That happens a lot when you are new to a medium but fades away as time goes on. I haven't experienced that for a very long time.

This^
I mean great anime still does get me fired up and all but I don't really get that weird feeling anymore, it stopped around when I completed 20 anime..

Yeah, the new Danganronpa anime make me anxious because they can kill any characters if they feel like it even if they are main since its supposed to be the last chapter.

Hmm, anxious? Don't really remember if that did happen. Probably in build ups to stuff I suspect will end badly

I got anxious watching Terra E, because I was expecting a really shitty ending. Ok, maybe not "shitty" per se, just the exact opposite of what I wanted.
Luckily, that was not the case.

But yeah, it got to a point where I didn't want to watch the two final episodes, because I was so afraid they would ruin an otherwise awesome anime. Kinda like what happened with Battlestar Galactica (a somewhat similar show).

You know I'm still surprised at the amount of people who picked up anime around the 2012-2013 mark. I remember when those shows were airing like it was yesterday but it's been 3-4 years in actuality. Wow.

OT: Not really anymore. As some have stated, the feeling goes away after long term exposure. Or at least is more rare in it's frequency rate.

It was actually 4 years and 3 years old respectively... But tbh I watched sao a year after finishing and Golden Time after that... It's the starting mark of my experience in Anime. (though actually not because I'm fond of watching anime like Detective Conan, Doraemon, Dragon Ball but it's more like a daily watch on television, i didn't give much care about it)

Sometimes when watching a really good anime, I get anxious about whether I should finish this anime right now, or wait for a better time.
It doesn't make me sweating or heart beating faster, though.

I usually get excited when I start a new anime (unless I hate it from the very first minute, which is unlikely), but not really anxious. I think the only times I felt that were at the end of Death Note and the end of Code Geass R2.

Idk, for me there's a difference between getting anxious and getting excited or hyped. I get anxious before I go to the dentist, I get excited when I watch a great anime. That's the difference.
I probably regret this post by now.

I get that way, especially in sports anime when the final seconds are winding down and your team is behind a point or two...I bite fingernails, squirm in my seat, my heart is racing and it's like WHAM, your heart stops for a moment as it finally counts down to zero YAY your team won and them SHABAM you realize it's all fiction and you die of embarrassment because you screamed in joy in front of a room of people...again. Or is that just me?

The only time I can easily remember having experienced anxiety from anime was the entirety of the series Watamote.

The second hand embarrassment was difficult to get through but I could get through it, it could be worse I have a friend who just couldn't handle watching the series after a single episode and dropped it.
