How long they've been working on it, and how long it should take are things many people seem to misunderstand. The kickstarter was in 2012, but when they started development they only had like 10 people to work on it. The final office was established in frankfurt last year. You could say that active development has only been going on for 1-2 years. Development of games like skyrim take 5+ years, but we don't see this because it happens behind closed doors. Star citizen is effectively 2 games in one, one of which being an mmo no less (which take even longer to make), and most of the stuff in it has never been done before. I am not expecting a full release of the multiplayer aspect anytime soon :P The procedural planets are apparently planned to be released this year :3 |

I suck at fps games, and flying a ship is not my thing either (which is because I'm bad at flying them for medical reasons). Just flying it is one thing, but getting into a dogfight and not crashing into something is quite another. However, it should be possible to do things like mining etc which would be interesting :3 |

The best spaceship game I ever played, the story was kinda boring but you could fly around and do whatever you want. Some missions were really difficult :o Looks pretty nice, I hope you can fly in 3rd person view too. I prefer that one since I can look at my ship all the time :3 TLR came way later I think... Still one of the best though :3 |
