According to the official website of "KOBE Tetsujin Project", the 18 meter monument of Tetsujin 28-go will be completed soon and put on public viewing this August.

The recent progress report has pictures of the huge parts being assembled in a factory.

The project was launched in 2006 in order to commemorate the great works of mangaka Yokoyama Mitsuteru.

Does Yokoyama Mitsuteru have any works besides that one novel listed in MALs DB? You'd hope so, since a giant fucking statue is being built based on said works.

edit: kind of ignored the statue's relation to the tetsujin anime. Still, I don't understand the link the statue has to Yokoyama Mitsuteru..

Ahh finally!
They are talking about this statue since 2006, as a symbol of Kobe's restoration of the earthquake of 1995.

Will be nice to watch another robot statue, taking in consideration that Tetsujin 28-go was the first super robot in manganime story.

I think they're slowly progressing toward a giant robot theme park.

One can dream, anyway.
