Does that mean he's secretely or kind of gay? Wouldyou consider him gay? I like yaoi that doesn't have sex. Sadly, the only ones I've found are Sukisho and Gravitation. A Winter Cicada was enjoyable too. And no not gay as in "yeah ure gay, lols" I mean ride me gay. |

No, I wouldn't consider him to be gay. It's just a genre. I watch baseball anime, but it doesn't mean I'm into sports or baseball. |

Does that mean if a guy and guy kiss and I like it, I'm a gay dude? Or a girl and girl kiss and I like it, I'm a lesbian? Or a guy and girl kiss and I like it, I'm straight? No, it just means that you enjoy seeing people kiss regardless of gender. Sexuality is much more complicated than that. One doesn't have to be gay to enjoy seeing two guys kiss or two girls kiss and one doesn't have to be straight to watch and enjoy a straight romance. |

I like yuri also, but it's hard finding a title that isn't hentai. Hentai doesn't float my boat. What about girls watching yuri shows? Are they lesbians? The answer is NO. Most people would think that's hot or cool. Not exactly the same. |

Hentai doesn't float my boat. Lesson to be learned: Yuri is not "shoujo-ai porn". Shoujo-ai is a concept created by the West to separate non-romance or non-explicit girl x girl media from the others. Yuri rightfully encompasses all of these things. If anything, shoujo-ai is a subset of yuri, they are not two separate things. There are many yuri titles with no sex in it: Marimite, Strawberry Panic (they get it on a little, but it's not graphic), Kashimashi... |

Men are generally attracted to women because of their physical features, not just what they have underneath. Sure, men can can have sex changes, or cross-dress...both of which are capable of fooling men into thinking they're women. But I don't really see this is a legitimate example. Men are not omniscient enough, nor geared towards automatically knowing a traps a trap from their initial glimpse of them. Think of it as cos-play, you don't know what gender the person is until they uncover their mask. Thats essentially what traps are wearing; a mask. And if you're referring to anime traps, then that's a completely unfair example, as animation can make a male look so incredibly feminine that it defies logic. If real men could look like that, then I'm sure there would be a influx of bisexual men, but It's a impossibility in the real world. |

Attraction is not parallel to orientation though. Regarding your cosplay analogy, does the fact that the person wears a mask negate everything you come to like about them? If you were to develop a romantic connection with someone who was wearing a mask, would the removal of the mask and finding something you don't expect cause you to negate everything you've come to like about that person? If so, good god that's f*cking shallow. |

If by removal of said mask I found out she was a man, and he never bothered to tell me, that would mean he blatantly fooled me into believing he was female. Why should I have any respect for the person? Especially so if I have to find this out while in bed together. My rage would be overwhelming. Now if this were a real mask I could see, I'de surely kindly ask the person to take the mask off before getting into any kind of serious relationship, as that would be the normal thing to do... |

The question is: if a guy faps to yaoi, is he gay? I personally can't stand yuri, it makes me sick. Even IRL lesbian manifestations confuse me - a lot - even though IRL it's kind of cute in a way. However, I've watched yuri before and will probably watch it next time I download it by accident. Does that make me a lesbian? I don't think so. |

If girls can watch yuri, guys should be able to watch yaoi. Should be. Still, theres some sort of Western idea that the first is not crossing "the line". Whatever that line may be,. I don't really like either.. and I dont really care about shojo-ai/shonen-ai (strawberry panic bored me to death :P) |

Hmm.. If a guy watches yaoi and another guy knows of it he's gay in his eyes. If a guy watches yaoi and another girl knows of it he could be gay, and could be not in her eyes. If you are watching yaoi and you don't know if you're gay or not...chances are you're not gonna find out by watching it. I don't know..that's all I have to say. If you like it watch it, it's anime genre for god sake. |

If you watch gay porn and like it, then you are likely to be gay. But it's not until you have sexual feelings towards another man that you could actually know for sure. Problem with anime is that its genre are wide and loli for example is common, but that doesn't make people pedofilles. Yaoi is along the same lines. From my own experience i know many people who like Yaoi but they are gay or female. It's uncommon for straight men to watch it but it's also unlikely a straight guy would admit to watching it for fear of ridicule. I wouldn't draw any firm conclusions from it though; it's anime not real life after all. |
