| I didn't love it because it was sad. I loved it because I could feel where the old man was coming from. I felt sort of happy for him, that he gave this 'gift'. I admire his character for that. |

| I respect the above opinion,indeed sexual desire was intransigent to melancholic development, but it was a element that brought good point to the story, it's like Hanako had said " I think I'll regret it... that's how I feel", somehow a sort of resentment already surrounded her deeply, as though to give a gift in exchange for something, with the awareness that she wouldn't recover from illness. This was unnecessary as our friend said, there was incest in the content, but perhaps with the aim of increasing the density of the plot. The manga itself is shocking and dramatic. So much so that in your mind, you just stating an end, when it was something you were not expecting, thus escaping from the cliche. and... it's somewhat interesting to realize the "hotel" being built in the background in a subliminal way. |

| This mangaka has a new fan ... I did like this (pretty sad and touching) but I liked Hotel better. Still good but I'm still a bit confused. Hanako is Makao (the father)'s wife AND Takao's wife / mom? She was frozen 40 years ago, released, then in the hospital for another two months? Well whatever, it was pretty good. 8/10 for me |

They lied to her that it was only a few months, while in reality it was 40 years and a lot of stuff went down (including the start of Hotel) |

| At first I thought it was really trying so hard to be depressing/shocking.. untill I read the twist - I really didn't saw it coming and then.. well, it got me. I couldn't hold it in anymore.. All in all, this short story would probably get a 7/10 for me. It was good, but only because of the twist imho. If it wouldn't be for the twist, I would have rated it much lower.. |

However the increase in atmospheric temperature could have made Antarctica hospitable at the time. In Hotel, there were many people protesting near the Hotel's walls hinting that there were many inhabitants near the construction site. I don't know, to me it seemed to be a simple cameo. But I like your hypothesis too, it would have given a nice ending, to Hotel, Present remains sad. |
