| this Saiyuki version, especially for Sanzo, is a reverse of the original story of Journey to the West. It's interesting to see Sanzo is not as 'holy' as the original story. His attitude, his rebel (smoking), and even sometimes drinking are surely an opposite for a monk to behave. As his own character also interesting. The past, the sadness, and the anger he had obviously made him a cool (literary) person, yet also a kind (though he hided it) |

| Sanzo may be brash, violent, but he has a soft side that comes through in regard to his friends, even though he treats them like crap sometimes. Plus there's just something about a gun-totin' monk that just appeals to me. |
