My wife is from China, and she has a much more difficult time of it. That being said, I do know that many Japanese do indeed use English slang when talking, as I noticed that the one time I was in Japan a few years ago. I assume that when you say clubs, that could include sports teams. Not sure about toys and such, but I do know that there are as many, if not more Hentai titles (albeit shorter series) than there are anime series.
