| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Well I liked it. Thought it did a good job explaining the whole mystery behind the cherry blossum chopsticks. Roman sure stepped up and kicked Magoichis ass, too bad Okuni came in the confusion and took Koharu away. Next episode looks like Okuni gets betrayed by the people she was working with. Shows a bullet being removed from her and she is shocked to see Roman standing over her. Good chance they are setting it up for her to repent her misdeeds and help out Roman. |
| Well this tied up a lot of the loose threads. Perry's presence seems a little anachronistic as he would have been on the scene at the start of Tokugawa Iesada's shogunate and this story is clearly set some years after. |

| The series picks up again. It'll be interesting to see how the rest of the subplots will be developed. |

| That opening fight scene was nice. I wonder if we'll be seeing more of Seibei, and if he'll have more of an active role in helping Roman like in this episode or serve as a window into the past like he has been before. I'm looking forward to next week's episode! edit: I was just watching a "Best of Anime Engrish" video on youtube and it reminded me of Perry's rendition of Old Kentucky Home. |
