| I think they managed to wrap this up as best as they could for a manga getting the axe. Wins the match, but they end it as wonderfully as possible giving us that 'This is only the beginning' feel when they talk about future competitions and rivals begin to be more intrigued by him. They even go as far as giving us a bit in the romance department. As I always kind of figured Shiratori would be the person who would end up falling for Kurogane if they were able to expand more on the manga. Overall, it seemed like it could have evolved to something great, but the axe just cut it short... Enjoyed it a lot though. 7/10 or 8/10 can't decide. >.< |

| For me it's between a 7 and an 8 too, I think if they hadn't cut this it could have gone on for a while and Yes I agree the author wrapped up the ending as well as they could for getting cut, it was actually a pretty good ending. |

| As a fan of sports manga, there's many area where I feel the guy was rather inexperienced compared to the veterans but for a newbie, it's a fairly solid start. More so for the shounen demographic. Kurogane has a fairly strong start, lose stream in the middle and ends somewhat satisfying despite it was inevitably cancelled due to poor feedbacks. I'll look out for his next work. |
| Honestly, I felt the ending was way too predictable but otherwise, I liked most of the characters of this series. I wanted that match to go on a bit further though so oh well this time... 7/10. Still enjoyable. |

| Heads up, chapter 69 is out! Don't know if it's a continuation, a filler, or an unreleased chapter, but it's an interlude (flashback 150 years ago). I'm hoping they continue it; they didn't even make it to the finals yet. |
