A dark toned and rather slow paced start but well it does look somewhat interesting... Let's see what the other episodes have to offer!

Whoa! What I just watched has barely anything to do with the game by the same name that I played. The ONE thing to remember is that this OVA is meant for those who've played the VN, otherwise you won't make head or tail of it - not that the game explains that much really.
This version is VERY LOOSELY based on the original story, even the very first scene throws you off - Nagamori on a boat? That never happened in the game.
The change in hair color would be the least of my rants (Nanase, Kouhei and Hikami look nothing like in the game and I had to guess it was them); but what really bugs me is that characters are way OOC. The first few scenes show a cheery Akane, she's supposed to be Stoic, Wtf!! And where did Nanase's tsundereness go?? And none of the funny moments are present. Also, what's with the change in setting? It's rural now? Sure it looks good but why change it?
On a more positive note, they expanded on the imouto's death which was originally hinted at and gave that Hikami dude a much more relevant role in the story interacting with the girls.

animation style looks dated, but understandable, because it's from 2001.

boring, would have given 2/5. But it get an extra point, because Akane and Shiiko are in it! I use them in the fighting game Eternal Fighter Zero.
