So in 33 eps, tokomon only digievolves twice.

What's up with the cheesy music during fight scenes? The "Hey digimon..." really pisses me off now and the sub isn't much better.

Angemon appeared and fought Vamdemon together with WereGarurumon but they didn't finish him.
Those digimons were funny, too bad they were killed.

This was definitely a good episode. It showed us that a lot of Digimons are serving Myotismon only because he was more powerful than them.

And it showed us that Myotismon is a cruel bastard, who takes pleasure in killing.

I've learned troublemakers can be your friend even if you spend most of the time running away from them.

I do have to wonder what makes Vamdemon stronger than the CC's digimon. The previous villains make sense; they were a higher level than MCs at the time. But Vamdemon is the same level (Perfect) as WereGarurumon so I don't get why he was overpowering him so easily. One could say skill at fighting, but citation needed. The power scale is all messed up in this arc.

Pumpmon. Perfect.
Gotsumon. Child.
Yamato and Takeru.
Divorced 4 years ago.
Patamon flew away.
They got thrown out.
Dat trip.
lol at them hitting on her.
They ran away.
Dat theme. Gabumon.
Shibuya-type digimon.
They stole the ice cream.
lol at Gabumon wanting the ice cream.
Dat thunder.
Vamdemon!
Patamon.
They quit.
Vamdemon.
Dat Night Raid.
They're gone.
Yamato's voice.
Dat theme. Garurumon.
Dat theme within the theme. WereGarurumon.
Patamon sees the fight.
Dat theme. Angemon.
Dat light. Show me your brave heart! *shows Vamdemon leaving*
Dem memories.
Hikari. Tailmon. The digivice.

Only took 20 episodes to see Angemon again.
If you see that my post is exactly 1 month old (or more) from when it was posted... Don't waste your time, especially when you want to reply with something petty & insignificant. Assume that I've moved on (because I have).

I thought the duo was going to be annoying, but they managed to make me feel bad for them.

I wonder though, does Patamon remember his past life or not? This episode seems to imply that he does, but the lore would suggest otherwise.

Evolution level is only a general tiering. It doesn't guarantee that 2 Digimon of the same level would have equal power. Think of it as a number range: Rookie could range from 1-10, Champion 50-100, Ultimate 200-300 and so on. In general, Rookie would stand no chance against Champion (tho there are exceptions), but that doesn't mean that all Champion are equal. Angemon, for example, is much more powerful than other CC's Champion.

I'd be okay with this explanation, like it even, (and I think it gets hinted at it later) if the show took the time to explore it. But the show tends to treat evolution has the end-all, be-all while ignoring evidence to the contrary and doesn't try to provide an explanation. Rather it seems to suggest that dark types are super strong with a big weakness to angel types. (That is, until the Dark Masters arc before that too dropped it in favor of type advantages.)

It's a shame because they had the perfect digimon to explore this explanation without the in-anime time crunches: Piccolomon.

Fair point. I do agree that the show "wink it" a little too much. They tend to bring up explanations only when it's convenient or absolutely needed, and skim through details just about enough to not be totally inconceivable.
