I liked the episodes but after reading the LN part it felt rushed. They skipped argo.

It seems Argo will be in the next episode, according to the preview on the previous page

Hmm. The order is messed up though xD. It is also weird that episode 1 is a side story and not 1 from volume 1.

Huh?
Episode 1 was no side story. It was chapter 2-4 from volume 1 if I remember correctly.
Episode 2 was a side story, but I read somewhere they'll be doing the story in chronological order.

If they did it in order wouldn't Rondo of the Transient Sword be next ? The trailer for the next ep didnt look like it was set during that chapter

The next one will be Red-Nosed reindeer, and Rondo of the Transient Sword has only been recently released, and the content for the first 5 episodes or so was already determined, because we already knew the titles of those

Episode 1 is from chapter 2-4 from volume 1
Episode 2 is Aria in the starless night
Episode 3 is titled "The Red-Nosed Reindeer" after the same named side story in volume 2
Episode 4 is titled "The Black Swordsman" which I assume is also from the same named side story in volume 2
Episode 5 is titled "A Murder Case in the Area" which I assume is from the same named side story in volume 8

Quick question. There isn't supposed to be magic in SAO, so was that a healing potion he tried to give Diabel? It seems inconsistent. (If so, why wouldn't Diabel have taken it?)

While this has been covered a good many times already, I guess it's a bit too much to ask for people to read all of the previous pages.

Diabel was already dead before his HP bar went down all the way- the game was just, essentially, showing his death slowly. The potion would not have worked because he was already "dead" anyways- that one hit had taken the rest of his HP. It also wouldn't have worked because the potions in SAO are heal-over-time potions, and the ones in the lower levels aren't worth crap.

The next episode covers a much-coveted item that

SAO is a bitch of a game to play. The difficulty level is INSANE.
Serious, in what game do you grind EXP and level up for one month straight, and then still have to fight the first boss with a party?!

That should explain a lot to anyone who reads it- including why the idiots who ran out into the fields to hunt on the first day all got slaughtered.

It makes more sense after U read the side story this episode adapted from.

Kirito actually couter a dozen of hits from the Boss's katana skills which nobody ever seen in 1st floor.Even After being knocked down, he directed the tankers to block every attacks from the Boss and saved the day when it broke the formation again.

With that kind of knowledge in a game of Death, do u think it is fair?

Have you ever played Ragnarok Online? That grind was the biggest bitch, and the author, Reki Kawahara wrote based on his experiences on Ragnarok Online and Ultima Online, and also had abit of help on terms.

Good times, that grind.

SAO wouldn't make for much of a story if everyone was capped and decked out one month into the game, would it?

I knew Reki Kawahara based SAO off of Ragnarok and Ultima (courtesy of Netto_Azure), but I haven't played either.

I was kind of late to the party in those cases, so to speak.
I have, however, played Dark Souls.

I would like to think that it's either comparable to Ragnarok's difficulty, as you mentioned here, or that Ragnarok couldn't possibly be any harder. If such a thing is even exists, it should be killed with fire and then nuked from space, for good measure.

Nah, Ragnarok is grindy, but it isn't a month-long endeavor for level 10. That'd be like an 1-2 hours tops if my memory serves. If any mmo with a high level cap took as long as SAO to level, it'd have to be titled M Online.

Aww someone mentioned me. :-) pRO will always have a place in my heart. Loved the Archer class so much. True soloing right there xD

But yeah several things contributed to the 1-2 month time lag for the first dungeon.

1. They established the 10 levels above the current Floor standard to create a reasonable buffer zone of safety.
2. There was a limited amount of resources and EXP due to the 8k players having to compete for them ON A SINGLE FLOOR. Whose rate of satisfaction drops as u gain more levels.
3. Multiple scouting and mapping parties needed to risk their lives to find the Boss floor in the Floor Dungeon.
4. It needed someone charismatic like Diabel to infuse confidence and establish a viable raiding party that already had enough experience playing in a totally new environment.

So please realize that SAO is a difficult game to play already in the beginning, just think why?

Something bothers me. If they don't eat outside the game, then how do their bodies stay healthy? Eating in game only fools your body, it can't provide you anything. Someone care to explain it to me?

One way I can think of is that their bodies are artificially supplied all the necessities by outsiders (in real world). Need confirmation.

The last part of the episode was pretty awesome and rather well adapted, but I can't hold my rage at how much character development on Asuna's part was simply cut out. And that's not to mention Argo not appearing and as a result Diabel's character getting to be way more "white" than he should...

I think that from an anime-only viewer this is probably a nice episode, but I felt really sad that they left out so much.

I have heard that there was an shitty harem-cliche-like bathing scene in the novel which they - and im rally happy about that- didnt put in the adaption, VERY GOOD decision, cant understand why the novel-readers miss it.

Some of them consider it the small amount of comedy in the cruel world of SAO that "we" missed, although it doesn't really add much to the characters themselves IMO. There's a lot more missing that that one particular scene that is far more important anyways.

it may sound like a cliche bath scene but it isn't its waay more funnier than that and better presented, to understand it you would need to read that part in aria in the starless sky

but to be honest the LN doesn't have many ecchi scenes, so people who are looking for a decent story without fanservice being thrown at them will be pleased, but when it does an ecchi scene its always for comedy and im not talking about cliche crap that fails, SAO is a lot more creative than that and it never fails to make me laugh

i may sound like a pervert but there is one slightly ecchi scene im looking forward to that will no doubt make people laugh :D

People are just so concerned w/ numbers. Let's just all wait for the score to balance out. Probably when the adaptation ends it's run. This series already has an established fanbase who are really devoted to the novels hence the hype. I'm a fan as well but I'm holding out on giving a final score since this IS an adaptation. But some fans aren't so reserved. Granted that two episodes aren't enough to warrant such a high score dismissing it as garbage just after two episodes is equally irrational. Don't just jump into the bandwagon. Geez.
