| I'm looking for something where the protagonist has some serious (external) scars, that he/she hides and play a (great) part in why they are the way they are. The best example I can give is Kaoru from Ai yori Aoshi. He has some serious scars on his back that play a part in the story. Edit: His scars don't play that much of a role though, I'm looking for something which has a bigger impact on the sotry It's not much to go on, just wondering if there is something out there. |

The MC from Golgo 13 also has scars but I don't think it completely fits your request, since they don't seem to be what made him the way he is. |

| How about Hidaka Sana from Myself ; Yourself? Although you don't actually get to see the scars they do have a role near the end of the show. I can't say anymore because it would give too much away. |
