Looking for Manga Artist Partner (A sample of story included)
As the title said, I’m here looking for someone who can present my thoughts in the form of drawings. First of all, I would like to give the readers a brief introduction of myself. I’m a fan of Japanese’s Manga/Anime like most of you. I’m used to have plenty of stories and ideas; however, the thoughts are always more than talks and draws. That is the reason why this post is made. I’m personally interested in genres such as action, adventure, horror, shounen, mystery, supernatural, and tragedy….etc. I do hope that we are sharing the same interests so that we could make a good team. I’m obviously not a fan of Ecchi manga/anime haha..
Here is a story which I’m currently working with…
Background
Peoples grow and die in the circulation of life. However, when peoples died, their memories, their repentant in life or their reluctant to leave the love ones will be stayed in a form of, that is what we called Soul. Souls are meant to be appearing in our daily life. They have the features as in their previous life.
One day, an angel from heaven observed that the amount of souls is too packed on earth. The quantities of human’s souls are much higher than the living humans. Therefore, the angel decided to send the souls to heaven with her powers. Purification of the souls is done by writing their name on a scroll. The scroll soon named “The diary of Angel (天使的日记)”.
A day after years, the Queen passed away. The King believes that the angel could bring back his wife’s soul and regain her life once. The citizens were killed in an order. The millions of innocent souls did draw the attention of angel. Angel felt desperate on the cruel actions of human beings. The diary of angel was torn into pieces, a teardrop of angel, and a last sentence from angel follow by her disappearance to nowhere…
Countless souls remained and stayed on earth. Humans can only see and feel them with a naturally born device, called the Yin Yang Eyes (阴阳眼). Human born with the Yin Yang Eyes is able to communicate with the Souls. Unfortunately, a different form of the Soul was observed. Things happened and something seems goes wrong….
Stories
XXX* Academic is a high school which only attended by those student who possesses Yin Yang Eyes. It is also a well-known eye specialist hospital which believes to cure the “disease” of the children who born with problem eyes. In fact, this is the place where the students are being taught to be a soul linker. A scroll is being used by the soul linker to summon the soul of his/her target. A soul can be drawn out from 3 categories, which are living, non-living objects and ZZZ*. Students from XXX* Academic are being taught to summon the soul of non-living objects. Summoning souls from living objects is forbidden here. Every soul is given a name during the summoning. When the soul is drawn out from the target by force (soul link), the body of the target will be vaporized into dust and the soul will disappear as soon as the soul linker has stop connecting with the scroll. The differences of the soul’s appearance are based on the abilities and the thoughts of the soul linker.
For example, there will be a scene where an instructor drawing out a soul from a chair with the appearance of giant size, evil looking, and high spiritual power, but instead of this cool looking soul, a student is drawing out a little cute looking soul from the same chair.
YYY * organization undergoes experiment where implantation of Yin Yang Eyes is done on live Human. The success experiment allows the patient to summon soul from living objects. However, side effect is happened on these soul linkers whenever a soul link is performed as compensation.
The main story line goes around the students and instructors from XXX *Academic which I’m not going to reveal most of the details here…But I will briefly go through a few arcs of some backstories of main characters to give you a rough idea of the characters.
The Twin Brother Arc*
A twin brother was born with Yin Yang Eyes and meant to be talent candidates to enter XXX* Academic. However, the elder brother was being killed by a soul which they never seen before in an incident. The little brother decided to search for his brother’s soul and wanted to summon him back to life. Due to the nature connection of the twin brothers and the helps from a fallen angel, the little brother has found his brother’s soul and able to summon it from a picture of his brother. After summoned him, the little brother realized that he made a big mistake, where he didn’t noticed that the soul needs a “container”, as in a body. He figured out a way to save his brother’s soul, that is, insert his brother’s soul into his own body. He is able to do so because both of the souls possessing similar form and identical spiritual scent. The twin brothers have different characteristic and personalities, but due to both of the souls are sharing a same body, the surrounding peoples might think he is split personality, tsundere or even mentally distorted. I believe he/they is/are a potent hilarious character in the story.
The Hold Pillow Lady Arc*
On her 3 years old birthday, her mother gave her a hold pillow as her birthday present. Due to she is the only child in the family, and nobody believe what she told them that she actually “seen” the souls, she is growing as a shy, quiet and introvert girl. Whenever she felt unhappy or worries, the only friend that she can talk with is -- her hold pillow. She used to carry and hug it in bed every night. One day, a year before she enters high school, her family decided to move to another place. The hold pillow was lost in the moving. But when she entered XXX* Academic, she begins to make new friends and getting willing to share her thoughts with her friends. This is because her schoolmates have the same ability like hers (Yin Yang Eyes). A fallen angel drop by, looking at the dirty old hold pillow, spells are occurring like melodies, a soul with young lady look had been drawing out from the hold pillow. The young lady wishes that she can always be by her master’s side like the old days. She made an agreement with the angel where she can enter XXX* Academic in her spirit form and meets her master as a student but with one condition that is she can never reveal her identity to her master. (Story continues when they meet in XXX* Academic and tragedy happens…)
For your information, souls can be drawn from living, non-living and ZZZ* objects. Examples of living objects are plants, humans, animals, insects….etc
Examples of non-living objects are tables, chairs, dolls, scissors…etc
And yes, the souls are summoned to fight with rules*
Some of you might felt confused, just ask if you have any problems, but I might not answer them accordingly because I will keep part of the stories as a secret for now. You will know it eventually if the Manga did produced. ^^ Comments are most welcomed.
What is the purpose of YYY organization? Why the children are being taught to be a soul linker? How actually the soul linker summon/draw out the soul with a scroll? Who is the angel? I will definitely discuss all these with the artist! Yet, this is a supernatural story with hilarious and tragedy that could make you laugh and cry! The story might twists from time to time based on my inspiration.
I wish the drawings are drawn in a way of Japanese’s Style Manga, the dialogue of the original creates can be in either English or Chinese (those are my written languages). Your creative skill is needed as we are giving birth to the characters, monsters, spells, combat skills…etc. Let me know if you are willing to spend the time with me. Together, we make a Fantasy World.

Just to get you a reality hit. If you aren't Japanese, you will most probably [99% probability] never be successful in manga business. And even if you are Japanese, you will still most probably never be successful. [around... 85ish%, I'd say]
I commend on your story and your vigor, but don't take this manga thing too serious, don't let other things in your life suffer due to it, 'cause it isn't worth it.

Honestly, I never read/watch the manga/anime of Bakuman, at least not until I went to check it out after I saw your post. It has nothing to do with why I'm being motivated to make a manga myself.
I have my own life in reality, and I would consider making a manga as my hobby. I never expect it would success like the Japanese mangaist, but of course, I'm serious and will put all my afford into it still. It would be great if it turns out to has good responds and succeed. It can never be the best manga, but I'll try to make it a competitive manga. I don't mind if it can't be published, well...yea..I'm enjoying the process of making it.

Thanks for the comment. I'll try to make it as short as possible...but somehow I have a lot of ideas now that I really don't wish to cut them off....I hate to drag the story, so I will go to the point in every chapters.

Or you could learn about any of that stuff if you went to an art store and asked the workers there about different utensils paints, items, why some are more expensive then others, are they water soluble or not, what paper material they can work well on, etc. Or at the very least browsed to be aware of the various art utensils if your browse online.

"Real future." What is a real future? Being an accountant? What is a real life? Going to clubs with friends?
I wish I hadn't thought about having a "real future" in the past. But that's just me.

I live in Las Vegas, and I'm interested, I'm good, at drawing, and I still must improve a lot, but mainly I need to focus in a story, and I'm not good at making stories.
