I prefer to watch anime. I think I've only ever read one manga in my life. I dunno; I guess it's just not my thing.

reading is nice but I enjoy watching anime more. I have a bit more freedom to do other stuff. I like to multitask alot

Manga, i don't prefer one over the other. But there are many more choices in manga, just the chapters don't get tanslated fast.

Well everyone knows that you must read the manga first so I started out first but watching anime is better coz in the manga you do really see the action from the anime, the bad thing is manga has spoilers while anime doesn't

Watching Anime it's much better than reading because if you watch you have colour, sound, voices and some other cool stuff that only you see when you watch Anime

Manga since the story is most of the time the original one and it is better than the anime version.

this. I never really stopped reading manga whereas there were times I've stopped watching anime completely.

I've only started reading manga recently, but I've always thought "how can manga be better than Anime? Manga is a bunch of pictures while anime is full colored moving pictures with audio." But I've learned to enjoy manga too. I can listen to music while reading manga, which I can't do while watching anime.

Definitely anime.
I can't bring myself to enjoy manga.
Haven't read one for years (4 to be exact).

But I picked up manga before anime though..
Maybe I'm already spoiled by anime that I can't read manga anymore..

Anime
I'm not a fan of manga at all..Are any of them even in color? I tried to find some on the net but I didn't like what I found. I think it was Black Cat...

I prefer to watch anime, mostly because it's like a mange, but the pictures move and talk and stuff.

Watching Anime, hands down.

There's something to be said when you can hear that favorite character saying that line you find to be absolutely genius in your head. Also, for me (and I watch subs, not dubs) I think hearing dialogue gives emotion to the script; it gives it that sense of realism. Moreover, unlike movies, I tend to find the animated versions of mangas to be a lot more promising in terms of entertainment.

I'll read, but only if I have to. If there's an episode somewhere of the same Manga I'm trying to follow, I'll watch the episode before I ever get close to the Manga version.

I prefer watching anime as well. However, if the anime feels rushed or a particular serie is good I'll read the manga as well.

Manga, without question. Although anime technically has higher potential as a medium, it's rarely properly exploited due to the extra complications that go into its production and the limited number of competent creators. With manga, there's much greater diversity and general quality.

If all things were equal, anime would be my preference hands-down - it's generally easier to follow and the voice acting, full-color art and music/sound effects can add quite a bit. As much as I love NANA in both its forms, for instance, the manga is much less fulfilling as it doesn't have any music.

In real-world terms though, I have a lot more trouble picking a favorite. I still prefer anime, I guess, but there are a great many animes out there that don't match up to their manga counterparts (where there's usually more attention paid to artistic detail, less censoring, no crappy filler ruining the experience at every turn).

So yeah, anime is the obvious choice for me as a general rule, but it really comes down to a series-by-series comparison

While I'm a fan of both mediums, I've always loved tv more so definitely anime. ^_^ If I like an anime and want to know more, then I pick up the manga for it. I wind up enjoying both that way. ^_^

i rather read manga, for one its the only thing i really can get a hold of usually. I can get away with reading manga that is PG 13 or above ratings better if im reading it rather then watching it. I usually like the books better then the anime. However, thats not always true sometimes the anime is better. The main reason is because i cant really watch anime as much.

Being an artist myself I prefer Anime because I think it's a higher feat of art then manga, also manga doesn't capture me emotionally like anime does, some thing about motion, color and the emotion of the voice acter brings it all together for me and even transcends live action drama in most cases for me.
It doesn't think, it doesn't feel, it doesn't laugh or cry..... All it does from dusk till dawn is make the soldiers die.

Manga, because I read fast. I love anime, but when it's a 50+ episode show, that takes more commitment than I'm willing to give, so I'd rather read the manga counterpart. The storyline of an anime is usually chopped up or changed as compared to the manga.

Anime all the way. I'm too cheep to buy something I can read in an hour and it's a pain to read a manga series off the computer.

I'm definitely more of a manga fan, usually when I'm reading something the quality of the art only gets better. With most animes, the animation tends to take dips with some episodes being extremely well animated (first season of Bleach) to being downright abyssmal (Bount arc). Sometimes it's even inconsistent going from good to bad to good within an arc itself (Arrancar arc). This probably wouldn't bother most people but being an art major I seem to get annoyed whenever I see this. ^_^

Music and sound in general is a BIG reason why I don't read manga, some music blows me away.
I'm pretty unimaginative when it comes to any actions scenes while reading too.

Watch anime, simply because it is not motionless while manga is motionless. Oh and the possibility to see more than two colors is also much appreciated.

plus, the voicing adds more to it as well

QFT, but five minutes of imagining the characters move isn't bad enough ^^;

Manga. I've only just started reading manga for at least 5 months now and I find it better than anime' (though I watch anime a lot as well). I believe most people find it displeasing since manga is (1) most of the time in B&W, (2) has no actions and no sounds, but for me it doesn't really affect me that much.
