awards are out and surprisingly Aaron Rodgers won MVP in a landslide. Thought the votes would be a lot closer between him and Brees.

Slap in the face to Drew. How can he win Offensive POTY and only get 2 MVP votes? What a joke, it should have been a split at worst. The writers have their own agenda and really shouldn't be voting on these things. It should be up to the players/coaches.

It sure sucks that Underwood got cute the freaking day before the Superbowl... Wow. I mean the Pats did have too much WRs on the team but still damn lol.

Still rooting for the Pats tomorrow tho. Can't wait for the game!

Cutting Underwood cruel?

It will only be cruel if Alex Silvestro, who took Underwood's roster spot, does not play. Silvestro adds depth to the defensive line (it gets hot in domes) and he should take Gronkowski's spot on special teams (no reason to risk his ankle there). Its just a football move.

Just over 6 hours until kickoff. I hope its a good one.

Finally, two weeks of waiting is almost up. Of course this also means no football for 6+ months, but I digress, its pick time.

Unsolicited Picks: Super Bowl XLVI

NYG @ New England

As for the score, I can barely pick games, but I see it as 24-27.

Cheers to a good game.

Would be cool to see another 4th quarter comeback for NY.

Dno I just never really got into any New York sports team. Found the media and people talking about NY teams pretty annoying sometimes lol. Always did like the Pats for some reason, not sure why. Guess I am just different lol since I ended up a Cards fan.

Game in less than 2 hours!

Also. Congrats to the Giants. Can't say that I cared for either team...but congrats to them for winning it all.

packers came in first in their division therefore they play the other nfc first place teams: saints, giants and 9ers... and since the packers play the giants in NY the opening game will most likely be them since they are the past 2 champions.

i feel pretty good since the saints were able to beat the "world champs" by 22 when they played, now we just need a defense that doesnt choke in playoff games and i believe we'll two dat

try not to compare the 7-7 giants team to the one that just won the superbowl, night and day.

i dont think the result wouldve been much different had they played again, the saints were getting better as well...but its all speculation seeing that they couldnt get it done in sf, i expect another saints blowout against them next season

What constitutes "ridicule" there? It is, more accurately, handegg. Since it isn't a ball, and it spends more time being held, being thrown and being caught compared to touching the foot. If it's because of the mish-mash of teams, then that was deliberate. I forgot to include the Nets though, since they'll soon be the "Brooklyn Nets" after they leave New Jersey (so it'll be "Jets with Mets in Nets").

ichigo03 said:

Agreed, there isn't any soccer thread, because iirc it was titled "European Football", so that it encompasses the various leagues in each of the countries, as well as the European competitions. Admittedly though it isn't exactly popular, owing to the American majority of the users here in MAL.

I'm a football fan, Arsenal FC. I'm also a Dallas Mavericks fan, as well as a fan of my university's teams (for obvious reasons) whether it's the football, volleyball, basketball, softball, etc. teams.

I'm a bit partial to the Ravens though since my brother's a fan.

Your way of posting, of course, was quite expected of you, so it didn't come as much of a surprise.

And since you brought up comparing the two, it even made yourself look more stupid, if that was possible. If you're going to compare, compare handegg to rugby, since it was rugby which the Americans actually copied. Around that time though there were several "football" too, rugby was a kind of "football", then there's "association football" (which is simply "football" now) and then there's "Australian rules football" which is even more of a hybrid between rugby and football.

EDIT: Admittedly in a different forum, but would greatly reflect how bad your behavior is, ichigo03.

When the Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl, and I congratulated them with a "Congrats to the Brewer Bucks!", the response from the fans were much more civilized and not childish at all.

Just my opinion but commercials ruin football. I mean seriously half the time your watching commercials. Wtf is that shit?. So networks can get more money or what?, That's what turned me away from football is all that damn stupid commercials, and hell every year there just seems to be more and more. Just drags games on and on for damn money.

well basketball games last almost as long as football games, and baseball hardly has commercials because of it allows pitchers to take their dear sweet time, so im not sure where u r taking this. do u not watch sports? of course commercials suck, but every sport has some sort of delay...unless if ur into like the kentucky derby and stuff like that?

superbowl has a ton because its the biggest sporting event of the year in america, but they really only stretch the game out more by about a half hour which isnt as bad when you consider u have a longer halftime show than in normal games.

Well i don't watch other sports, i know it's the super bowl and such. But just so many commercials have bored all the games for me super bowl or not. So i just end up opening the ESPN game tracker thing to check stuff out to see how it's going. Or flip on the TV to see check it out for a moment.

ah i see, i thought u were just hatin on football

in some interesting news i dont think ive ever heard of a rugby player playing in the nfl, but i guess there could be a first time for anything:

he's got some impressive numbers in the 40 and not to mention 6'6, if he could generate any kind of a pass rush then i hope his tryout went well with the saints
