Yeah it happens. I hate to see a character I like die off or end up in hurtful situations.

Same here, sometimes I can't stop the waterworks but I really don't care. If it's sad then I might cry that's all there is to it.

Well, a few years back I wasn't exactly the crying type (hell, I even forgot how crying felt) when I happened to watch this particular OVA and I just sat there and literally cried like a baby for a good while. Maybe that incident unclogged my tear glands or something because I've become a lot more prone to shedding tears after that. But of course it takes something special for me to get worked up that much.

Yes. Most of the time I'll feel sad but it's not enough to get me to cry. However if it really gets to me, I'll cry.. or even sometimes when I'm in a bad mood I'll cry at stuff I usually wouldn't.

I sometimes get teary, but that's pretty much it. Usually it's a scene with forced drama that makes me cringe rather than feel sad.

I don't think I have ever cried in an anime and I've seen some sad shows. I have been moved and had that depressed feeling after a show but I have yet to cry.

This.

And I guess it depends on the anime, I may not exactly cry, but some scenes do hit me a little.

Love it when an anime is powerful enough to move me to tears, or any other emotional state, for that matter.

What century are you living in? Haven't you seen really macho guys cry in anime? Real men aren't afraid to show love, joy, and sadness. And, unless you whimper at the drop of a hat, most women love it. Lets 'em know you aren't self-centered, and/or cold.

-animeS - The plural of anime is anime. More than one deer is still deer. There is no damn "s".
-epic |ˈepik| noun•a work portraying heroic deeds/adventures covering an long period of time - adjective • heroic/grand in scale or character

^This.

I cry if something's really, really sweet, if something's really sad and depressiong or just when someone succeeds with a major thing. Anime and manga are almost the only things that make me cry.

I don't cry, but my eyes might tear up at worst. If not, but it's still sad, then my eyes'll sting. But yes, I always Feel like crying :'(

It really depends...

If it's just silly melodrama, then no.

But if it's something really meaningful, then maybe...

I tend to tear up slightly when I'm excited (not in a rude way kk) rather than sad, then again sad moments have a similar effect, minus a big grin. Having said that, I don't come across truly sad moments that often.

Maybe. If a character die and the protagonist cry his/her dead yep, but if two are saying good bye not.

My eyes get watery, but I don't cry since I try not to. I've only shed tear once and that was during Clannad After Story.

Melodrama is not enough to make me cry, and most of the anime I watched don't go beyond melodrama.
Signature? I ain't got no signature! I don't need no signature! I don't have to show you any stinkin' signature!

i always feel like crying in sad parts...yet i can't cry...
What's more is that i'm likely to get goose-bumped/chilled into sunken depression with such scenes...ah that ~after story~ effect (the word itself, not the anime)

Last time I cried was watching Aria the Origination.
I usually don't cry at really sad parts, but at the very captivating and uplifting parts of shows where you feel for the character.
Gotta admit though, I almost cried during Clannad AS as well. :/

If the part is really that sad and/ or depressing i may tear up or cry just a little, but nothing too serious. It really depends on the kind of story and what exactly is happening and to who exactly.

Occasionally I do cry though, for the most part, my reactions are limited to watery eyes and a lump in my throat.
It really depends on how well an emotional/depressing/tragic scene is handled. Based on that, my reaction could range anywhere from smirking at it's silliness to actual crying.
