I thought that first year guy, Tamura something would become captain because of all the things that he said, never being on the field, but went to all practices. Because of that I totally forgot about Nikai and didn't even think of him as captain.

Next episode is the results of their hard training. Will they win their match?

This was a pretty dull episode overall. Not much just choosing the team members and weighing the choices. Not much to see here. And what is up with the ridiculously dramatic music in the training montage. This series has good music but wow that was misplaced! That is like them winning the Nationals and Yuuki dies on the freaking field. :P Morbid I know but really over the top musically.

I thought that was absolutely hilarious. XD

Looks like the final four episodes will be about baseball games on the way to Koshien.

Yay, things are finally moving.
I really don't want them to win Koshien though; they don't deserve it. I mean, look at Honda and where he got...

The management in this episode was great though.

Another great ep. Nice to have Moshidora back after a whole 2 days off. I like the band playing the OP song. Looking forward to the release of the OST, it's pretty good. Luckily the OP&ED themes just came out too, been listening to them a lot.

There's definitely something wrong with there definition of " Top management".
" Top management must have a final say in his/her task"
" One must not make desicions for the task of another, and must not interfere with anothers work "
Then she reads: " Top management is a team"
How is this a team, if everyone is working on there own tasks?

Few more words on her interview:
You dont ask questions like: "What can you contribute to the team?" And "What exactly you want to do in OUR baseball team?" in Highschool. It makes people feel alienated and unwated from the start, which is opposite of what Highschool should be about: Improving, Encouraging and Developing possible potentials.

And this is were " Moshidoros Top management" failes.
- First. A person who" hates baseball ", shouldnt be interviewing recruits in a first place, and thats really more then one persone job.
- Second. They didnt even do try-outs in there selection.
- Third. She shifted her responsibility for the placement of rejected players on to another persone at the end. Alienating thouse members even more.

The ending surprised me the most. Picking a captain from a management team?

Nah, bro. If the goal is Koshien (as it should be for all high school baseball teams in Japan), then the whole "making people feel alienated and unwanted" thing does not fly whatsoever. Those were proper questions to root out those who simply joined but didn't have a strong desire or focus. And how can you not say that they didn't encourage or develop possible potentials? Did you not notice that Tamura is a first-year who hadn't played at all on his middle school team? Obviously his potential was developed.

that's why it's a team or kinda similar to an RPG party.. (e.g. just because you're a paladin with healing powers, you don't have to heal others in need when your party's priest can handle everything.. focus on defending and taking blows for others and you're doing a good job for the party/team..) it is a team because you trust your teammates for whatever they're tasked to do.. this is the type of unity that is not obviously seen but it works, as rather than combining powers to do one big task, you decide to divide it among yourselves depending on your capabilities and expertise to better utilize your resources..

In your example if they followed "Top Management strategy" as shown in the anime, all of your party members would have split up and gone there own ways in that dungeon.

Because:

The goal of there management team is to "go to nationals"
The goal in your example is to "finish the dungeon".

Moshidora went on her own to" interview the recruits. "
In the dungeon example it would equal to one of your party members leaving to " solo a boss."

Not really a team play is it?

seems you're reading into stuff too much.. since when has the goal in my example "finish the dungeon", it's just "finish your enemies efficiently".. i have not stated on that kind of situation entirely.. and you seem to have exaggerated on the way the meaning of top management was stated in such a way that you're giving examples that are too foolish unless you state the conditions for it..
as a counter argument in your example, however, it is apparently implemented in some RPG's (like FF6) to split the entire team when there are more than one passages in a dungeon that requires the teamwork of each other to open passages to get to the end and assigning which party member/s for which path is a vital decision point.. however, why do you want to split them if the situation doesn't require you or recommend you to do so.. surely, "soloing a boss" doesn't offer any benefits especially if it's a one way dungeon anyway so it's not recommended.. however, if i could only leave "soloing a boss" to one especially strong party member knowing that the others have a task that is equivalently difficult or is befitting for them and would actually benefit in completing the entire task, then i could just go ahead and do so especially if it would save time..

in Moshidora, they split the task in terms of their abilities and it benefits the management team to not put excessive effort in helping with other member's tasks that are not their expertise.. what benefit does it do for Minami to go searching for information together with the other girl when there's an urgent work such as interviewing of recruits at hand, and knowing that she doesn't have as much connections as the other one.. the way they divided the tasks has saved them precious time.. teamwork can also be seen in this case..

this is seen in a lot of cases.. fansubbing team has TL, timer, encoder, editor, QC.. baseball has pitcher, catcher, L,C,R,fielders, 1,2,3,bases, shortstop, etc.. and many more.. note that if we assume that each member is trustworthy and talented for his task, focusing on his own is better and you'll complain when he's trying to do something else.. the only disadvantage of top management seems to be that it falls apart when the tasks our split wrong with the case that some members don't perform well in theirs..

Still a bit slow, but I'm glad things are finally going along. I thought the pitcher guy would be selected as the captain so I'm quite surprised they picked Nikai. I have to admit, I got a bit emotional for a moment as well. He's just a really hard working guy and deserves it. Out of all the bland characters in this show, I'd have to say that Nikai and Asano stand out.
