For me, I'd have to say GTO, not cause it was my favorite series, but because it was so long and enjoyable, and was sort of my buffer between the more serious animes I was watching, so I never thought it would end. Now that it's over....well I just don't know what to do :_(

For me, I would say Elfen Lied, Lucky Star, or The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, you get into it so much that you later on you realize that the series is over >_<

Probably Monster. It was such a long journey, hard to believe it comes to an end eventually.

I was really depressed upon finishing Azumanga Daioh. It was the end of high school, and they all had to go their separate ways. At that time, I just finished up middle school, and it just felt so empty. TT - TT

I cry when I finish a lot of anime. T______T Don't judge me.

The ones I was saddest at finishing were The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Fate/Stay Night, Ouran High School Host Club, School Rumble, Genshiken, Baccano, and NHK ni Yokoso.

PS: OH AND KINO NO TABI. O gawd, that's a series that by rights should go on forever.

Chrno Crusade left me feeling pretty empty inside when I finished it. Higurashi also left me sad, but we all know that an OVA is coming pretty soon. Samurai Champloo would probably take the top spot. I could watch Mugen, Jin and Fuu travel forever. That's triple the amount of people I would like to watch forever Windy. xD

Shura no toki, Samurai Champloo, and GTO for me.. All of them had open ending, and they was so good that the ending pissed me off alittle because I wanted more :(

For some reason, it was Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro. It was just such a fun, entertaining series, I kinda felt empty when I had done.

I'm also gonna be heartbroken when I finish Mushishi. I've been watching and loving that for two years; there'll be a HOLE ;_;

I guess I'd have to say Azumanga Daioh; I've got no idea why, but the ending just left me feeling kinda sad, but in a good way. Another would have to be NHK ni Yokoso, just because it had an awesome ending.

I'm usually happy when a great show cashes out before it gets long winded and takes a dip in quality but I was bummed when Azumanga Daioh was over. I paced out the last 6 episodes over almost as many months just because I couldn't bring myself to watch the last few episodes. At the time, I was practically mourning that series.

It's quite common behavior/feeling to feel "sad" that your favorite show has/is ended/ing, but in my honest opinion in some cases I wouldn't have it any other way either, because it's the ending that makes it so "brilliant". It what makes me remember an anime being good or bad. Perhaps I'm being too strict, but it boils down to consistency. A first good impression, an exciting storyplot and a great finisher. Of course there are some exceptions I throw in, but even at that stage there are boundaries.

However enough of that, I really felt that Samurai Champloo could had prolonged for 3-4 more episodes, felt it got rushed in the end, but it was brilliantly executed it didn't effect my rating of it.

Juuni Kokuki, oh my god, being 44 episodes I felt this had potential and REALLY deserved more than 44 episodes, it had everything, yes some people may have disliked the lengthy dialogues, but that's politics, can't be war without politics (I'm aware of that statement isn't 100% correct.)

Midori No Hibi, sweet show loved the series but, too short, but wouldn't had any other way, might had ruined for me if it was any longer.

Fantasic Children

Jubei-chan - goofy series but, I really liked it.

Aria series and Nanoha series.
Both are excellent series and have 52 eps.
I was sad and happy at the same time, seeing as Akari became prima and Nanoha's students departed to their own ways... snif...

my thoughts exactly :( ..

In addition to Rurouni Kenshin, I felt sad over finishing:
Samurai Champloo - those 3 parting ways was bittersweet.
Ouran High Host Club - wanted more since its so fun to watch ^^

Defenitely Ookiku Furikabutte. There just wasn't enough Oofuri goodness. It needs a second season :) most of the series was only one game!

edit: How could i forget Minami ke. The ending didn't feel like an ending, and I knew that okawari wasn't going to be as good as the first season so I was upset that it ended.

Rurouni Kenshin: The anime ended on a bad note with all those fillers. If they were just able to get through the last arc of the manga I would feel more content.

Kekkaishi: Kind of the same reason; the anime stopped when there's still more awesome stuff going on in the manga. It was still a really good show though, so I wish it didn't have to end so soon.

Yakitate!! Japan: Those puns could have kept on going for years knowing the Japanese language, so it's a shame it had to come to an end.

RahXephon, definitely.

In fact, I re-watched that series so many times because I didn't want to finish it. I'd get to say, episode 16, and then start over from 1...all the while telling myself I'll finish it that time. I'd go, get up to episode 18...and then start over again to make it last longer!

All in all I've probably come close to seeing most of the episodes a dozen times, save the last couple, simply from constantly stopping and re-starting.

The great thing is, each time I'd watch, I'd discover something new that I hadn't noticed in previous viewings...little things in the background of some frames, certain lines of dialogue that mean much more when scrutinized, etc...

I was depressed for three days after that show ended, it was all I could think about...the ending, it was over, what those last few episodes meant, etc...

That series was actually the catalyst for my anime obsession.

Hayate no Gotoku!

Just an enjoyable series that required little thinking. Was sad to realize I didn't have any Hayate waiting for me the next week.

Beck

Would have loved to see the story continue, so I was sad to see it end since it was a great show.

Darker Than Black. It could have been
better if they pace their development a lil
bit better rather than being far too progression
on the last 2 episodes. And the detective episodes
was unnecessary. Also the contracting abilities have
so many untapped potentials, still doesnt change the
fact that it was a great show that ill miss though.
