| i don't openly tell people that i love anime, only if it comes up, and so far all of my friends that know i do don't really approve, haha, but wtvr, still my friends my bro and sis watch anime, and my little bro owns me, sometimes watching a series a day, and my sister is a little less serious about it my dad thinks it's weird, he came in the room when i was watching Fullmetal Alchemist:Conquerer of Shamballa, and the scene where i don't even want to try to get my mom into anime, she is one of those people that only like the happy "Disney" ending |
| My parents are probably the only members of my family and extended family who are aware that Japanese animation even exists. It doesn't really matter, though, I'm nearly 23 and I can do what I want. Also, I don't have any IRL friends who are into anime at the moment, but an old friend from my old hometown is moving here in the fall and he's pretty big on it so, yay! |

| Half of my friends watches anime and half not. My mom was first like "why you watch cartoons" but I think she has accepted it now. Surprisingly my dad didn't say anything. |
| For my friends pretty much all of them are into anime as much as I am. Except for my best friend, even though she was the one who got me into it. She will watch anything I lend her, but she's not into the whole scene. My family on the other hand... Well, my Mother knows and I don't think she ever really cared as long as I wasn't doing drugs then pretty much whatever I did was find. My Dad never really got it, but I didn't talk to him much. The rest of my family I never talk to them about it much. |
| Years ago when we were both younger my sister and I used to watch anime like Cardcaptors, Sailor Moon and Tenchi together. I still remember we both watched CLAMP school detectives and really enjoyed it, but now she feels she's 'grown out of it' and that all anime is childish stuff, and mocks me for continuing to watch it. Particularly if I'm watching with subs she'll walk in and complain about how I'm watching jibberish I don't even understand and its distracting her (which is a lie - its not on that loud ^^) My dad used to watch Blue Gender and Evangelion with me on the sci-fi channel so thinks of anime as 'just another TV show'. For the most part my mum thinks the same but she's reacted oddly to some of them and looked at me as if I'm crazy while watching them (Azumanga, specifically) My nan is the same, thinks of it as 'just another TV show' and realises that its just something I like, but tends to laugh about the fact that 'no matter what the story is, the women always seem to have huge boobs' :P Most of my friends either like anime themselves, or have watched some but don't really care either way. I have a few who didn't know what it was and didn't care to learn, but don't really think anything in particular about me watching it. |
| Nearly all of my friends watch anime. :) We even used to have allnighters at one point, but nowadays everyone's a lot busier. :/ My parents couldn't care less about anime :D |

| My mother calls anime cartoons and won't even watch it (though I have gotten her to watch Spirited Away, which she enjoyed). My dad has no idea what anime is outside of the fact that I'm absolutely obsessed with it. As for friends it's 50/50. Half watch anime (in fact it was my best friend who got me hooked on anime) and are either into like I am or just watch the occasional one that interests them. The other half know what anime is but will not watch it, saying they've grown out of the cartoon phase when they were kids. |

| A few of my friends share the same level of interest for Anime (Trineas for example), and the rest watched a small amount of series, like GitS and Hellsing. For my family...I guess only my parents know that I'm watching Anime, and they don't care at all. |

| I have a few frineds who kinda like anime pictures but neer really watched any anime series... few friebds = 2-3 persons xD my parents wouldn't уут want to hear about it... anime is far from their favourite domains... they just consider it childish... they say I could spend my time on things more useful, but I kinda care less about what they say, concerning my passion to anime and my free time, lol My bf doesn't think I'm crazy or smth like that, though he did told me once that I was kinda obsessed with anime and stuff, but that is not true. Oh, I almost forgot, my elder brother, who is 24, got me into anime actually, when he started watching Naruto. There are still ppl like him and my parents who just won't accept anime in their lifes! xD |

| My mom did ask me one time, and seemed interested, but I don't think I could have gotten her to watch any anime with me. For the most time, she doesn't really care.. and when she does it's just 'cause she thinks I should be spending more time on my schoolwork instead of watchin what she calls "those movies you're watching". My dad doesn't really care, and neither do one of my brothers, but my other brother often laughs at me and make fun of me for watching "things like that" even though he hasn't a clue about what he's talking about... I've tried to get my friends into anime, and I did manage to get them to see one episode of different series.. i think.. (sent them over the internet, so I'm not sure if they have actually watched it).. but I don't think they're into it. At least they don't mock me or think of it as porn... I did manage to get my cousins that goes in 5. and 7. grade to read manga. Love Hina, for the one in 7. grade, she even bought some volumes herself, and Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne to the 5. grader.. since I have them in norvegian. So now I'm going to introduce them to anime :) |

| Ermms...my dad got me into anime when I was younger...so he's okay with anime he doesn't watch it but he wouldn't mind watching anime movies. As for my mom...she thinks I'm crazy...because she thinks anime are for kids although I tell her animes have age range too and that it's not like those cartoons on tv. As for my brother...I got him addicted to anime:P he doesn't watch that much anime as much as I do. |

| I was first to get into anime in my family. My bro came next, after I dared him to watch Grave of the Fireflies without crying. He laughed as he took the DVD upstairs, but came down two hours later with a sniffle and a tissue in his hand, and he was converted. He tends to stick to Ghibli, Katsuhiro Otomo and Satoshi Kon movies though. Not long after that there was a Ghibli season on TV, which was how my folks discovered anime. There was one great afternoon when my folks, my aunt and my 86-year-old gramma all sat and watched My Neighbour Totoro. Everyone loved it. My sister's the only one of our family that refuses to watch anime. Most of my friends think it's lame too, although I nearly had a breakthrough when I showed some of them the opening ten minutes of Elfen Lied... |
