This episode was so different from the previous ones - wacky and full of action. Did the director change or what?

Have you played Princess Maker 2 (PC, PSP) or the SNES version? If so there's some action and RPG gameplay in those and since this is practically Princess Maker in anime form, the action shouldn't be a surprise.

Yes, I brought up three daughters in PM2. You're right about the RPG elements but the sudden change of mood surprised me.

I liked this episode. It made me see Grenda in a different way, but Cube is still my favorite character.

Glad this wasn't yet another episode about the girls doing some random part time job. That was getting a little too repetitive.

Also, the anthropomorphic cats, the Scooby Doo like running sound effects, and just the overall artstyle, made this episode feel a lot like an American cartoon.

The cat villain using an inhaler made me laugh.
"No, son, you may not have your body pillow at the dinner table!"

Imaishi on storyboards. I wish every episode was like this.

Though part-time-job-of-the-week was fun in its own way too.

No wonder it contained all the style that Trigger is now known for.

Imaishi on storyboards *and* Ootsuka as the episode director. Nice blend!

The relationship between Yucie and Glenda kinda reminds me of Akko and Diana from Trigger's LWA. Hope they can become completely fine with each other towards the end of the show!
