― For those who can watch NHK terrestrial broadcasting in Japan.
USHIO Kensuke composed the music for «Chainsaw Man,» «Dandadan,» «Koe no Katachi (A Silent Voice),» and my favorites, «Chi.: Chikyuu no Undou ni Tsuite (Orb: On the Movements of the Earth),» «Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu (The Dangers in My Heart),» «Heike Monogatari,» and many others.
A documentary featuring him and his approach to the work will be broadcast very soon.
I believe this is the first time he has been featured on television.

The broadcast will air on Tuesday, August 26, from 0:46 AM to 1:31 AM Japan Standard Time (nearly 9 hrs after this moment). *

NHK's upcoming “Asa-dora (Morning Drama)” series, titled «Bakebake,» will begin airing on September 29. The story is based on the biography of KOIZUMI Yakumo, or Lafcadio Hearn [1850-1904], a naturalized, Greek-born Irish writer who collected and published tales of local yokais during the Meiji era. As Asa-dora's custom, the drama is told from the perspective of his wife.
This documentary appears to be a promotional tie-in project for this drama which Ushio makes music for. It explores the actual process of creating music for the drama's scenes.
Yokais (supernatural creatures), mysterious phenomena without forms, Japan in the midst of modernization, the mundane daily life of a family where nothing happens, and a delicate psychological drama ― these correspond perfectly with Ushio's previous works. It promises to be a daily morning delight from autumn through next spring.

Additionally, the post-war 80th anniversary project anime, «Cocoon: Aru Natsu no Shoujo-tachi yori,» will be rebroadcast on the same channel at 11:45 PM on the 25th, just before this program. The music is by Ushio as well.

* This is a core series documentary within NHK's programming, focusing on how leading figures in various fields approach their work.
Some episodes are translated and broadcast on NHK WORLD JAPAN, the overseas channel, but they are not up-to-date, and it is unclear whether this episode will be broadcast (in terms of anime, the original author of 《Detective Conan》, AOYAMA Gosho, is included in the archives).
It will be available for viewing on NHK Plus (the official online feed) immediately after the broadcast ends for one week. However, user registration is required, and the service is only available in Japan. I have no answer to whether viewing via VPN is possible.
