Both are good but I didn't like the ending and I still don't understand the anime's exaggeratedly high score, it's already very overrated, at most I give it a 7/10
| @ReMightyRon There are two main reasons for the anime's high rating 1 Recency bias 2 The ending hasn't aired yet After the airing of the last episode the rating will inevitably drop, though I don't expect it to drop any lower than 8. Teens love edgy empathic stuff like bullying, psychopathic behaviour and suicide portrayed in unrealistic ways after all. |

@APolygons2 how do you think they're going to do the ending differently in the anime?
| @PumpkinDoge It's really hard to explain it, cause the core story isn't any different from the manga... it's just better. I will just tell you that, when I read the manga, it felt like it was getting more directionless and messy as it went on, but the anime, has been doing the exact opposite, feeling like it has gotten only better and better with every episode. The direction, the pacing, just everything about the anime has pushed the source material to it's highest possible potential. It's not changing the story, it's just executing it a lot better. Now, considering how the ending is the "biggest" weak point of the original manga, it's not impossible that it would still fall flat, but they've won me over. I think they know what they are doing, and will make it work AT LEAST better than the manga. And mind you, the original manga isn't "bad", it's still really good, but there is a good reason there is THIS big of a score difference between them, a "weak" ending alone definitely wouldn't make a 1.2 score difference in reception. Even the best of the best adaptations out there don't get gaps like that. It's almost unheard of. |

| @APolygons2 Guess i will catch up with the anime then. Would be a miracle if it actually pulls that off tho, given what they are working with, but hey, maybe the anime will do what the manga couldn’t |
